    I'm still flabbergasted why it's called a triangle cut! 🤯🤯🤯

    What is the simplest way to cut my wood into this triangle shapes, and keep all my fingers! Love these lessons!!💕 thank you for sharing your knowledge.

      Good question! I use a bandsaw but a table saw set to 45 deg would work. a coping saw or pull saw would work if you have the patience!

      I think Doug Linker showed how to make a jig thingy 😂 in an early video but I can’t find it.

    I’ve only recently taken up whittling and your videos have been a Godsend. The simple step-by-step removes the intimidation factor of wood carving, and I can see improvement in my carvings with each attempt.
    Thanks a million!

    I’m always seeing expert carvers such as you flicking the chips away with their knives. For me, any time I do this, my wood splinters, tears, and damages the carving. What am I doing wrong?

    • @AlecLaCasseArt
      @AlecLaCasseArt  Před 3 měsíci +1

      It’s kind of a bad habit we are all in. If the cut isn’t complete and use the tool to flick it free, it will tear the remaining fibers. If the cut is clean the wood should fall out easily, thus the flicking!

    Is the mound for the eye equally important for the male eye shape.

    LOL, I can barley make the two eyes the same when I carve much less trying to do the female eye
