- Last week I flew from Bali to Surabaya (Java), traveled East Java by myself and then returned to Bali by train😱
If you want to find out how/if this worked out, follow my little Vlog series from Java! 😍
This was my first full day in Java and I decided to visit Mt BROMO 🌋 and I also decided to finally visit Jodipan. Jodipan used to be one of the poorest villages in Indonesia until eight PR students from a close by university had the idea to collaborate with a local paint company and paint every square inch of the slum in color!!😱 Inspired by the favelas in Rio, Brazil, Jodipan is a true eyecatcher now and attracts many tourists. This makeover has revitalized the entire community and significantly raised their standard of living since many residents got inspired to improve sanitation to keep the river & village clean. Also, tourists can support the residents by buying snacks and drinks from food stall. Since it is such a photogenic spot now, raise a lot of awareness through Social Media. What a story!!

Vegan food in East Java, you can order:
- Nasi kuning-nasi jagung-nasi pecel-nasi lodeh (choose vegan side dish).. ..nasi goreng-mie goreng (say without saus tiram, telur atau ayam).. ..lontong sayur (say without ayam)..
- Side dish: perkedel, dadar jagung, bihun, serundeng, tempe, tahu, mendoan, sambal goreng kentang, peyek kacang, lento, kerupuk bawang (white krupuk) ..
- Vegetables: capcay, pecel sayur, tumis kangkung, sayur lodeh, sayur asam, sayur sop, urap (krawu), terong balado..
- Almost gorengan make from vegetable and fruit: pisang goreng, singkong goreng, ubi goreng, tape goreng, sukun goreng, bakwan..
- Traditional cake: nagasari, klepon, onde-onde, wajik, dadar gulung, kue lapis, getuk, gatot, etc..
- Herbal drink: Beras kencur, STMJ, Tolak angin, Wedang Jahe makes you warm in rainy season.. ..Sinom (kunyit asam) is fresh and full vitamin C..

Bromo is ready open now, I live here if you looking vegan foods in East Java you can search gado-gado or lontong balap and nasi pecel
The east part of Indonesia mostly beauty nature place.
The south part have beauty beach.
The west part you may have great sky adventure.
And the north there also had bright horison.

if you wanna spesial vegetarian food i recomended you eat pecel, karedok or ketoprak. Its cheap and tasty.
And if you wanna eat vegetarian food in any restouran in indonesia just order "Sayur".

Vegan food that is easy to find in Indonesia, I think gado gado, ketoprak, pecel (not pecel ayam or lele, but pecel vegetables), toge goreng, tempe mendoan, asinan, plecing kangkung.

I always amazed with solo traveler girl in unfamiliar countries. For vegan, you can always order Gado-gado (Cooked vegetables with Peanut sauce) which available at most of restaurants in Indonesia.

Try to go to Bedengan..its nearby from malang..under 10km..its orange field and if you want to find a vegan..try to go to warung tegal there are a lot of food you will find..and some of them are made from vegetables
