Hi mam, my native is Coimbatore and yes Annapoorna's vada sambar is always the best. Even though the vada is soaked in sambar during delivery it won't be soggy, unlike other restaurants. I have been visiting Annapoorna for more than 20 years now and the sambar vada tastes the same every time. Annapoorna is nostalgia and it's something beyond food for Coimbatore people:) Thanks for sharing this video mam and your recipes are really good yet simple and easy to prepare.

Excellent hotel all tiffin&meals sweets etc., is really super, the first dish is idly sambar & vada sambar* tht sambar we can eat simply without any dishes tht is so so good in my knowledge we didn't eat like this sambar enjoy nicely 👍& one more the main hotel is in gandhipuram Sri Annapurna &gowri Sankar in our fly my son 4th generation we went to shopping means simply go to gandhipuram definitely eat tht family hotel so thank you so much mami

You made me recollect my good olden days .

Namasthe Gita so happy to see u at the iconic Annapoorna a place just a few minutes from our home. Loved everything that is made there , lemon sevai and thayir sevai with ginger pickle ! Mom used to order the lunch to go in the year 65 onwards a staple on many Sundays ! Miss CBE and the yummy food !
While everything looks so yummy and beautifully served, never seen a family dosa before; that bucket with broom and garbage bin in plain site was an eyesore. Wish the restaurant had a cover in that area.
The customer would have asked the cleaning staff to remove the garbage bin , bucket and the broom before they started enjoying the Dosa

In 1972, when I was studying at CIT, my most favorite haunt was Annapoorna in RS Puram.
A plate of sambar Idli, a masala dosa, a plate of thayir semia and the most aromatic coffee, together used to cost Rs 1.20...!!

Ever since I was a kid have been visiting Annapoorna,This used to be the favorite for late Rajiv Gandhi too and when he was PM he invited Annapoorna to cater south Indian food in Delhi.
Nothing to beat their Puri and potato masala,Masala Dosa ,Mushroom Biriyani and even Coconut chutney is fresh and different followed by their unique Filter coffee.
The only change in the last 10 years is the Sambar receipe which used to be better.
Try out their spice powder too like _ Idli podi and Rasam powder.
Must visit place for all North Indians who visit Coimbatore.

My friends and I used to visit the branch in RS Puram when I was doing my masters at Avinashalingam University between 84-86. Every weekend we would have our BF go to a movie and then go back for lunch. To this day i use their sambar powder and all my friends say I make the best sambar, but the credit goes to Annapurna sambar powder 100%
