- On this Adventures into History video, Cecil and I return to the woods of Talbot County, Georgia to explore the historic Daniel-Brown Cemetery. This cemetery, dating back to the plantation era, showcases numerous pre-Civil War graves and is surrounded by a large iron fence. Within the fenced area, we find many marked and unmarked burials. Outside the fence, we discover additional unmarked graves, likely those of individuals who were enslaved on the Daniel and Brown plantations. Join us as we delve into the rich history and somber stories preserved within this historic cemetery. #AdventuresIntoHistory #HistoricCemeteries #TalbotCounty #DanielBrownCemetery #ExploringHistory

At the end?
Virginia Jackson Brown was my great great grandmother. I put the two pictures on Finda grave. One was a photograph and the other was a painting done by my grandmother from the photograph. She never knew her as she died when her mother was young. She painted several copies of that picture and gave them to family members. I'm related to the Daniel's and the Browns in that cemetery. I've never been to that cemetery. I am so glad you made this video.
Interesting!☺️
I updated Find A Grave with all the markers from this cemetery.
Wow I just looked it up that painting is incredible thank you for sharing !
So they were Masons. That means that they were devil worshipers. The Masons are an occult, and are opposed to Jesus Christ. If you are a Mason you cannot have eternal life.
It is amazing how well the old fences and gates have lasted. It would be wonderful to see some volunteers clean up that cemetery.🌹
I second that idea💯❤️💯
Amen!❤😊
It wouldn't hurt for them to bring wire brush to clean the old iron fence and then paint it Union Blue.
@@wileycoyotesr8623 That would be grounds for a string'n up.
Someone stole the wrought iron fence from one of my family grave yards. Some people have no shame.
You and Cecil have found a lovely cemetery.
Such hard working men.
Enjoy your quests, and your love of our ancestors.
Keep kicking it dudes!
Looks like Martha Jameson died at 19 while giving birth to her daughter. Her daughter passed 3 years later.
"As a husband, devoted,
As a father, affectionate,
As a friend, ever kind and true"
Could we want our memory to be any more?
No , it doesn't get much better than that .. He must of been a really good man . RIP to him & his ...
@@randomvintagefilm273 I was thinking the exact same thing when he read it out.
Considering that cedar trees only grow 12 to 24 inches annually, they have been there for a long, long time.
Another great video thank you both.
The cemetery deserves restoring and documented, a wonderful community project to begin sooner rather than later.
Very beautiful place and you did catch it in perfect sunlight. Interesting stones and more stark contrast between wealth, loss of wealth and the enslaved. I wonder at the two teens that died in 1864 at being confederate soldiers. Beautiful photo and painting of Virginia, it does bring reality to the heart. Thank you, Robert and Cecil. Great tour and I enjoyed the quiet splendor, Robert. 👍👍❣❣
Beautiful cemetery with an ornate fence and gate with beautiful created tombstones that has stood the test of time since the plantation days. A sure sign of wealth!
If you could see the smile on my face! Stressed to the max and I get the notification. I’m gonna sit back and breathe and watch this video.
Same here! The news is nuts, it’s 118 degrees and I come inside and find a quick getaway to the woods of South Georgia!😎🌵💙
Just Breathe!!🌬️❤😊
Stay cool, guys, and slow down! Robert's voice is very calming.
People of the past had a lot class and family values
When you read the grave of Martha Jane Jameson who died Dec 7, 1844. Her daughter Martha Jane was born on Dec. 7, 1844 but lived until 1947.
Beautiful find thank you Cecil for taking Robert out there. Thank you for your channels.
I heard him say 1847?
I assumed Martha died during childbirth, and her daughter lived to 3 years old.
There's an obituary of her on find a grave with a touching account of her last moments of life.
@@mattsmith809Thank You For Sharing This!!❤😊
@tonyaharmon1383 No problem. I figured people following this channel would appreciate the information.

Leaving us in suspense?
Death was a constant friend in those days, you could die from a common cold.
This was totally amazing to see. I'm always impresses when Cecil bri g you to his findings. You two are a good team to record these wonderful finds.
Yes, Relict is a widow.
Beautiful cemetery. I am so surprised that beautiful fence has survived thieves.
Thank you boys. It's always sweet when you can contribute to find a grave. Thank you for sharing
Love and enjoy your videos. May the lord bless and protect you Robert and Cecil and bringing out the past history.
This is a beautiful place we have to think where some of the family may be now. God bless you both 🙏❤️
If you ever get to Lincoln, Nebraska you should take a look at Wyuka Cemetery. It’s on the main street through the middle of town, O street/highway 34. It’s 140 acres. It’s the oldest cemetery in Nebraska I believe. It’s beautiful and very interesting. Thanks for your work to preserve these old cemeteries.
I love this channel! Robert is absolutely adorable! Great southern gentleman! 💕

This a truly remarkable cemetery. Such carving. Beautiful. Thank you for showing us this.
Thank you, Robert and Cecil. It must have been a beautiful cemetary in its day.
what a great cemetery Cecil, ty for showing it to Robert and us..Its a beautiful place.
What a beautiful old cemetery! Those were some really old monuments. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Robert hey Cecil
Such beautiful stones. Such interesting history.
Thanks for another great journey to the past.
Your respect for the people and their resting places is wonderful.
Love these historic and beautiful discoveries! Thanks for sharing them with us!
Thank you for sharing as very interesting and incredibly beautiful 😊
Thx guys for filming this and sharing it with us.
A lot of life and living went on there. So many people, so many stories, and so much history. That plantation must've been huge, with that much family and those many slaves buried there. Thank you for the tour of this wonderful cemetery.
It's amazing that the markers held up so long!!
our History and Its Worth Saving-Thanks Guys For Taking Us Along-🧐👍That Would Be A Great Community Project To Clean Up and Document 🕊️🇺🇸🦅
Loved seeing a beautiful historic cemetery in good shape. Praise God 🙏🏻 ❤️. Thank you Robert and Cecil for shopping this marvelous place to us
Watching still from New Zealand
Such A Beautiful Country!!❤😊
So am I!
Amazing gate and cedars! I've never seen so many big and fancy stones in a forgotten cemetery before! Very interesting! Great video! Keep them coming!
Beautiful old fence!
It is so beautiful the way the sun filters down through the trees. Tfs
Just WOW Awesome find Cecil.
Amazing cemetery. Thanks for sharing.
Amazing to see the large fence! I haven't heard you mention it, but likely many fences removed for the iron collection drives for WW2 (and sadly as you have noted, gates taken for "antique" collectors). Hope this one stays relatively intact for many more generations!
What a lovely, peaceful cemetery. Blessings to all souls laying there. Thanks to you and Cecil for sharing. Prayers from Michigan.
I absolutely LOVED being able to put a face w/the name of the person resting there. She was an amazingly gorgeous young lady.
I have to say that I find it ironic that my great Granpa Oliver B. Daniels & the man there Oliver Daniel have close to the same name.
What history you and Cecil have found, its amazing to think of the lives these people lived. Thanks for taking us along.
Amen To That! I'm Homebound & No Longer Able To Travel Like You Guys!❤😊
@@tonyaharmon1383 Sorry to hear this, I'll be 75 next month and really don't get out that much as far as traveling. I have a brother that turned 88 this past May, he's home bound also. He loves sports, reads a lot and watches TV a lot at night and sleeps most of his day away. God Bless you both, I can still go when I need to.
I really enjoy all the videos you guys do. Thank you!!
Thank you and Cecil for sharing this amazing cemetery. Where is the other Robert? We miss seeing you guys exploring together.
The other Robert lives in the southern part of the state, a couple hours away, I think, living life, doing his own thing. Robert and Robert get together occasionally.
Another great find…How does Cecil find these forgotten cemeteries? Just amazing on the beautiful headstones..
Often, they're in county records; including the location and some related information. Usually, the locals know of them. I used to do cemetery restoration work in Kentucky (despite living in Oklahoma). All I had to do was go to the Brandenburg KY public library. It was all there. The property owner showed me the location, then I spent one week every year from 2004 to 2018 finding the broken markers, and slowly piecing them back together again. But most work consists of clearing out old growth and debris. Very hard work, but very rewarding in the end. On subsequent trips, I found the Ancestral Trails Historical Society in nearby Vine Grove KY. That provided a lot of information on the people buried there.
Martha Jane Jamerson’s death date was little Martha Jane’s birth date, so I’m assuming that she (19 year old Martha) died in childbirth or shortly afterward. 😢
Wow that is a very old cemetary thanx guys
Thank you both for sharing. What a beautiful place.
Appreciate the great job you both doing for showing this cool cemetery. Thanks for sharing
I found this cemetery has some sort of energy. Unlike any you've ever visited Robert. The word active comes to mind. Wonder what it would be like to visit it at night.
Maybe it’s your imagination?
That means there's a demon hanging around the body of person it once influenced.
@@bleirdo_dude that place had energy. Not imagining it. I'm not the overly sensitive type.
@@bleirdo_dudeha!
@ola
If skilled artisans built a mock old cemetery in the middle of the woods without your knowledge. Then you were told made up stories of the people not even buried there, and you visited the place. What are the chances you would FEEL energies there as long as you believed the place to be genuine?
What beautiful find , thank for sharing
That fence is so awesome!
Thank you for sharing!
Awesome find
Love your videos and the history
Virginia was beautiful.
Indeed!❤😊

My great great grandmother
What a beautiful cemetery the slaves burial is heart breaking 💔 but thankfully it’s not the case anymore. Thanks you guys once again for sharing finding and documenting this precious treasures of history. 😊
I love the old iron fencing in these cemeteries. Equally impressive is that cedar tree!
Thanks Cecil and Robert.
I love it when Robert reads the tombstones ❤❤❤❤
Dec'd is the abbreviation for deceased.
What a lovely girl in the pic, I’m curious what took her life at 33?
* I’m 62, so she was a kid to me!
She was really pretty!
I can't help it, the first thing that came to mind when I saw the monument with the finger pointing up was the scene from "The Son's of Katie Elder," and them all arguing about the monument for their mother. How someone got a monument with an angel that had a finger pointing up until someone shot the finger off, and she looked like she was just shaking her fist at you!!! ❤❤❤
Robert you are right that dc'd is deceased .
This is such a beautiful cemetery and fantastic time of day to visit it. What a fantastic find!
So cool. Thank you.
Amazing
Great video. Thanks
Dec'd = deceased. Beautiful, amazing cemetery in the woods.
I love true history! Tysm 😊
The oldest cemetery around here was 1857. I don’t know how old the Wyandotte Indian cemetery goes back…..
1843 is now known as the Huron Indian Cemetery in downtown Kansas City KS. So the Indian burial is before…..or oldest.
But again we were the western expansion….
I wanna hang out with Cecil and figure out how he finds these places! Thanks for the great video guys 🙂
I love your channel! Your side kicks are priceless!
Another great video!!!
Amazing. Simply Fascinating. Have you explored any old, plantation cemeteries in South Carolina? Thanks for sharing your awesome adventures and finds with us
I think “relict” is derived from a Latin term. There was some basic Latin required for nursing. Anyway, it just means she was a widow. This place is kind of haunting in a way-I think it’s the way the sun hits the stones, highlighting the white and contrasting with the dark growth and moss. It’s like exactly how you would picture an old plantation cemetery, at least the way I do. Thank you to Cecil for finding us another place to explore!
Thanks for that. I looked “Relict” up a long time ago and have not gotten a solid answer. Makes sense for the old woman’s grave I saw it on.
I love love your hat…❤
Such an amazing old cemetery! Ah my heart. Just want to get in there and clean it up.
Thanks!
In Mississippi back in the 80’s, we’d come across abandoned homesteads w/graves dating back to 1800’s. So interesting!
I love your channel, and your reverence for history. Always fascinating and informative! Interestingly, Oliver Daniel, buried in this cemetery, was born on your birthday and died on mine!
Beautiful place
Thanks Robert. 👷🏼♂️👍🏼
Beautiful cemetary
Enjoyed the video Robert its hot and humid in NC today too, where did you get your hast Robert i like it👍
beautiful>>>>protected by forces>>>>See that tree>>>>Landed perfectly WITHOUT damaging the headstome>>>WOAH>>>imagine how long its been since someone has visited them
Such a peaceful place to rest.
Like your approach w/teamwork! Good information on the fly that way. Hint: a bucket or bottle of water can help highlight difficult to read carvings. Noticed you use flashlight at times. Well done!
Better is a large flat mirror. Shine sunlight on it for shadow. No risk to the old monuments.
I would to hear you get into the history of some of these plantations and cemeteries you visit. Jim in Oceanside, Ca
So sad about these long forgotten cemeteries it would be nice to see them cleaned up but I know it would be a monumental undertaking 😢
Cemeteries tell a story of people’s lives.
This is so sad to think that their ancestors believed that this would always be a respected place that would be kept up. 😢
i am fiddling " Swinging on a Gate" on my Violin.
Hello from rocky mid-coast Maine, US....
The University of Oregon in Eugene has a pioneer cemetery on the campus.
Cool!
Henry Brown," dec'd", the husband of "relict" Catherine, is probably buried in another cemetery in the county they lived in before coming to Talbot. The 1840 census would show if she was a relict; the 1830 census would start untangling some of the relationships.
I wonder if Martha Jamison that died on Dec 7, 1844, I wonder if she died during child birth of the little one that was born Dec 7, 1944¿?🤔
Relic means the widow of...
