Hmm, any thoughts on the control sticks becoming less responsive or glitchy? It feels like the dead zone when I look right is weird. As in I look right very slowly but left is fine. I assume its the sensor, and I took my old controller apart to see if I could learn anything or fix it somehow, but I couldn't seem to solve it. New controller now has this issue. Any advice of what I could try? Blowing it out with compressed air helped, but didn't solve the issue on the old controller, so I suppose its not out of the question just yet.
How are ppl liking the vid but yet not subbing? Just this video alone saved me a headache, that cord was most likely getting yanked off while trying to unclip that back piece. If you dont sub for the hard work he took in doin this, do it for the headache i avoided by not ripping that cord as i try to unclamp that back piece, all thanks to this man. Thank you!

@@louisxu3621 Yeah, happened to me too today after replacing the standard sticks with normal XB1 sticks, so much for all the "It fits without problems" videos.
@@Terkzorr I did it and I have no sticking on my sticks, you have to be sure you don't over tighten the screws
@@jacobhawkins9496 An hour after I posted my comment I could fix the sticking problem by drilling away about half a millimeter of plastic inside the thumb sticks, using them since. Much better than Sony's slippery default ones, albeit the fact they get dirty so easily because of their engraved texture.

I made a few more modifications to the lose fit of the dpad and it works perfectly
I love the adjustable joysticks
I have used the Same PlayStation controller that comes with the PlayStation ever since I bought and everything is good as new
I bought it when it first came out and play on it basically every day

Benefits of this generally are that with a wider base it'll spare drifting since your cheetos won't directly land bear the sticks contacts, still it'll get nasty and will eventually drift but it's nice idea for modders

As a fighting game player i like the ps4 controller for how small it is and the responsiveness of it but i play on dpad so i have more control for fireball motions and the bane of ps4 has ALWAYS been its dpad so this is something I definitely intend on doing to mine
Do a gameplay with it to see if you either broke your controller or made it in to an Xbox controller

I switched to metal joysticks and bullet buttons. At first mine had a bit of "stick" to them. Though after a couple weeks of playing with it, it works perfectly now. Probably just has to be worked in like mine did.

Being a lefty I would absolutely love to have a proper left handed controller. Not a garbage setting in the game but buttons on the left side of the controller and vise versa. Do you think a mod can be done for this?

But an elite is a modified controler and with this you can get a elite controller for about 3/4 the prize, so you can spend the rest 1/4 on cosmetics for the controller

Im proud of myself doing a faceplate change yesterday 😂 got the gold one going to get a gold Dualshock 4 next week to match :) console has a USB cooling fan, extra USB slots, a gold faceplate and a triple controller charging stand :) slowly building a decent console set up ive always just had stock standard PlayStations ive never known much about the setting or mods or ways to make my gaming experience better. Next on my list is the GameDong (sorry if i spelt that wrong) game bar which adds 1-7TB of memory to the console :) want one of those and an expensive computer chair to angle around my bedroom while gaming.

those ribbons that he is sliding in at 19:48 can break i dont mean the wire its self but the gold strips that are on it can bend off, mine did and i had to order new ones and it was kinda hard to find the right ones, but if you do damage them at the tip you can cut a bit off so that the rest of the ribbon gold does not peel off but you can only trim so far till you get a new one, best just to leave it plugged in while modding if you can....

also those tabs that keep the controller locked, you can cut them off so its easier to take apart again if needed, just make sure you screw it back together, the screws will hold it just fine without the tabs all my tabs have been cut off on my controllers and they work fine...

Dude, you do know the part that the battery sits in is just clipped in and can be taken off right? Makes life easier and the Touchpad ribbon you tugging on will break eventually if you keep pulling it like that as there's a latch you pull up and push down to release the Ribbon to the Touch pad, just so you know for future Reference 👌🏼

Gr8 vid but i think you should work a bit on matching the custom parts to the controller cuz' i have a feeling that they are a little to lose (mostly D-pad does not look to firm, tho i am sure that there is some space left for improvments :D To bad i have only a new DS, and i am not so eager to create "Franken-Shock" just yet :D
I did the mod and it worked
How to mod your ps4 controller-
Step 1: Remove screws then lose the screws
Step 2: Crack open the controller
Step 3: Get an angry mom to remove the battery
Step 4: Call daddy for a sledgehammer
Step 5: Destroy motherboard
Last Step: Put back together and there you go!
You now have a modded controller, the not working controller mod!

Ryan Anderson The d-pad is shit. There's no need for a gap in the middle. It's mushy and has no click feedback either. Nintendo makes best d-pads. Even Xbox's is better this gen.
Kurt Marshall strongly disagree but meh ive been with playstation since the psx and the d pad has remained the same through to ps4 and ive never once had problems with it. its the best dpad for tekken of which i am a huge fan of. for me personally no other d pad cuts it for me.

Thats pretty sick but ive noticed your thumb pads stick a little bit i would bevel the rounded sides down just a little.. that way the thumb pad has more room to move around and it wont be as tight

I always end up successfully modding my controllers.. and they work...but I always end up f****** up a trigger or button or something.... It's a lot harder than it seems.

I'm really surprised at the Xbox elite metal magnetic sticks fit on our controllers.
Wow a lot of xbox fan boys posting on this. Powerful console sure but when the games are trash what's the point, buy a pc ffs.
I recently did this mod with the kit from eBay (and it's a multi console kit) and it works perfectly fine. Brought a new controller and used an old one so no loss.
Didn't use the green dpad insert, I just drill/pin and glue the dpad on to the ps one after removing the cross and sanding. Looks and feels great thanks for the video dude 👍😉

only problem with the d-pad is sometimes it dont work I've tried this like over the pass few months but the green d-pad dont function correctly
Thank you for the comment. Your right the d pad on my controller is starting to act up a bit, I had to add some extra plastic pieces under the pad on the four corners and center so it stays in place and can make the contacts touch.
The Curious Consumer what i did to get it snug was to cut the plastic directly on the corners where you see the X shape on the D paddy doing this the green d-pad will have a lil space in it so the magnet d-pad can fall right in it you will have as much room as the elite controller but a few Cm smaller
