    I wanted to thank you for your video. I looked at over 50 models of lawnmowers during my weeks of shopping; and In part because of your analysis, I purchased the Greenworks Model MO80L2523 which for all appearances is a push model 2533302 with two 2.5A batteries plus a charger. I’ve been using it for several mows now and I love it. I have a 83x103 FT property (majority is grass) and I chose this model because it takes me 45 minutes to mow it and this model has the ability to carry 2 batteries in its bay and auto-switch to the fully charged battery when the first one is discharged. Brilliant feature! It was between the Snapper XD (Model 1687884) and this Greenworks model and this featured solidified my decision!

    It is worthwhile to note that similar to the new Ryobi 40V crosscut, the Toro 60V also suffers from grass clipping leakage when mulching. Something to consider if you’re a mulcher.

    I just bought the Greenworks 80V Pro, it arrives tomorrow. I live in CT so it will be a while before I get to try it out. I own a house in a 1/2 acre lot, usually it takes just under an hour so I’m hoping the battery charge is sufficient. Good news is that the battery appears to charge up quick, only need that first 33% to finish up, if at all. This is my first electric mower.

    I'v been a Toro/Personal Pace man for over 20 years. I really like the wider cut and the vertical storage. So after doing a few hours of research and looking at several other machines on CZcams, including the Green Works 25 , at the moment the Toro is in the lead for me and the Personal Pace is what puts it in front.

    • @TurfMechanic
      @TurfMechanic Před 3 lety +2

      Hard to argue against the Toro especially since the single blade is so wide and thick, it's only slightly smaller cutting path than the 25" GW with dual blades. I'm not a fan of the personal pace system but I know lots of people love it and it works well so if you like it then stay with Toro. BTW, I did just learn about the new Heavy Duty Toro 60V mower that just came out. I think it's a regular SP mower, not sure about that yet but you should at least look it up.

    Helpful video. After watching this and one of your other review videos, I bought the Toro. Coming from a 105 lb Husqvarna 21" gas mower with front swivel casters, the Toro feels plenty light and nimble to me. It can be pushed manually by using one hand on the lower stationary bar, by the way. I strongly considered a 40V Greenworks or Ryobi for $100 less, but the deciding factor for me was the availability of warranty service from my local Toro dealer just 4 miles away; to get those other brands fixed (if any issues arose) I'd probably have to ship the mower someplace.

    The single point adjustment is related to the fact that that these mowers are battery powered. Most battery powered mowers are quite a bit lighter, and don't put too much stress on the linkages and joints in single point systems. While it could be made beefier, quad point systems are cheaper and easier.

    I'm enjoying your electric lawn mower videos as I search for a replacement for my 10 year old Honda gas mower. Right now the Toro is my front runner. I've not seen the personal pace in person, but in the video it looks like there is a horizontal bar below the arched handle for the personal pace. If you wanted to use it as just a push mower couldn't you push/pull on the horizontal fixed member instead of the arched handle? Also, re: you comment on independently adjustable wheels. That was one of the features that was a requirement for me when I bought the Honda. The house we had at the time had a concrete driveway and sidewalks. I would trim all of the concrete perimeter with the left wheels on the concrete set a notch or 2 lower than the right wheels. This prevented the cut from being tapered up to the concrete where the wheels were sitting higher than the right wheels that were on the ground.

    How responsive is the Greenworks self-propelled command? Is there a noticeable delay before it engages like the EGO 21"? Also, can you easily pull the mower backwards right after disengaging SP or do the wheels lock up?

    • @TurfMechanic
      @TurfMechanic Před 3 lety +6

      Excellent questions, there is a noticeable delay and the wheels lock up if you try to go backwards immediately after disengaging the sp. These are my two least favorite facts about the greenworks 80v. This is also one of the things that people love about the toro 60v which doesn't have either of these problems. For regular push mower self propelled models the sunjoe is pretty good. Almost no lag at all and it doesn't lockup as much... problem with that one however is the poor blade. As I've told others none of the mowers are perfect unfortunately.

      Having a Greenworks 80V Mower last year the the self propelled drive was a deal breaker, I now have a Toro 60V Super Recycler. It seems like you have to rock it in reverse to disengage the drive to be able to push it manually, I live on a cul-de-sac so pie shape yard with a lot of turning around on the edge of both sides. The personal pace is ok, I wish it was setup like the Xmark Commercial 21 V-Series or Commercial 60V Toro, but the price of either of those two........That said the delay on Greenworks is bad, cut quality is great.

    @ldever3 Před 2 měsíci +1

    I have the Greenworks non self propelled. I will never buy a self propelled. It must be 5-6 years old now. It’s adequate, but has lots of room for improvement. It has 2 batteries, so one is charging while I’m using the other. I cut an acre, and it takes a number of battery swaps to get the job done. The quality of the cut isn’t very good, and I have to double cut a lot to get everything. Where it really fails is mulching leaves. It doesn’t suck them off the ground to mulch. I do stall it out frequently, especially when doing my ditch. I sharpen my own blades. I have two blades so a sharp one is always ready to go. The blades are very short. This thing really needs sharp blades or your cut will suffer. And you must buy the blade from Greenworks. As for water, I clean mine with a hose. I just don’t get the top part wet. No problems so far from that. In short: I need more power. I want something wider. I want blades that create suction, which is directly related to power and battery run time. On the plus side: Low noise; no exhaust stink; no maintenance.
