There's a supervillain in Marvel called Paste- Pot Pete who uses glues and other pastes as his weapon of choice and he's considered to be a joke. Even after he changed his name to the Trapster and became a more effective villain, he still got mocked for his old nickname by Spider Man and the Human Torch. And when he beat up two other villains who betrayed him and left them stuck in his glue so that people would know it was him that did it, the police officers who found them just assumed that Spider Man was responsible for capturing them instead which upset the Trapster.

Had to change me here to mention the ultimate forgotten marvel character; Forget-me-not! Founding member of the X-Men, his superpower is that everyone forgets he exists moments after looking away. He's not in most of the comics because the power also works through the 4th wall, but any time the X-Men were saved by a stroke of luck or Deus ex Machina, that was him. Xavier used his mind powers to regularly remind himself that FMN existed, but during a time when Xavier was either dead, evil or both everyone else forgot FMN and he got eaten by the x-mansion security systems.

As far as Bluestreak being the only "good" one of the options, Slapstick is actually ridiculously powerful and for all intents and purposes, indestructible. Having the powers of a cartoon gag character is actually the way to go. He can do almost anything and nothing can kill him

So you could get a photo of Captain America ready to fight Red Skull, or you could wait a couple seconds and get a photo of him as he delivers a kick to Red Skull's face. It could work.

Skin, Slapstick, Ruby Thursday, and 3D Man are hardly "forgotten" Marvel Characters.
"Generation X," the X-Men spinoff comic Skin was a main character in was actually a big seller for much of its run, and he got an action figure in the toyline based off it. He was killed when the Purifiers (one of many mutant-hating religious terrorist groups) attacked the mansion while the main X-Men team were away on a mission and crucified a number of b-listers on the front lawn of the grounds. Though, he has since been resurrected during the current (very weird) run of X-books where they're living on Krakoa (an island that is a mutant itself), and they brought _ALL_ the dead mutant characters back to life.
Slapstick, despite getting his own introductory miniseries has been a constant C/D-lister, but has popped up in a lot of other books and storylines, most notably as part of a recent Deadpool series, the redundantly titled "Deadpool and the Mercs for Money" where he was one of the titlular mercenaries.
Ruby Thursday was a recurring enemy of the original Defenders team (not the group of street level heroes popularized(?) by the Netflix shows, but a fluctuating "non-team" that often included Hulk, Hellcat, Daimon Helstrom, Doctor Strange, Nighthawk, Silver Surfer, Valkyrie, and others), as part of a very weird villain team known as the Headmen alongside Chondu the Mystic (whose head was transplanted onto a weird alien-like body), the villainous Gorilla Man who transplanted his head onto a gorilla body (not to be confused with Marvel's OTHER Gorilla-Man, a hero who was a man turned into a gorilla but kept his human intellect), and Shrunken Bones (a man whose skeleton was too small for his skin and body). She still makes occasional appearances.
Speaking of Marvel's heroic Gorilla-Man, both the original 3D Man, and his replacement were teammates with him as part of the Agents of Atlas, before the team was recently re-worked to be mostly Korean heroes as part of a marketing thing. The second (and current) 3D Man, Delroy Garrett, was introduced in the Avengers as Triathalon, an Olympic athlete who was given the same sort of 'peak-of-human-potential' enhancements as Captain America, but by a fictional cult inspired by Scientology. He flopped as a character, but was given a second chance by taking on the legacy position.
I was honestly expecting some truly forgotten marvel characters like "A Guy Named Joe" (real name Joe Smith) or "Chtylok the Che-K'n Kau"... or at least an "Obnoxio the Clown."
..."Phone Ranger" is a fair pick, though, with only 3 appearances, though it's safe to assume he was a deliberate joke character, as those occasionally do pop up.
The one I'm most disappointed Luke didn't choose for the list, though: Elf with a Gun, who is, as his name implies, a small man with pointed ears, dressed as though he was one of Santa's elves... who shoots people with a handgun.
He made several appearances in issues of "the Defenders," murdering civilians, as an apparent lead-up to a proper storyline, but IIRC, his creator left the book and he was unceremoniously killed off by being hit by a semi truck.

Fun fact: Iron Man originally used roller skates to get around quick. They just popped out of his feet. So unless Blue Streak's roller derby gear is more high tech than Iron Man, he seems a bit redundant.

    • @totz_the_plaid9625
      @totz_the_plaid9625 Před rokem

Comic books... having _REDUNDANT_ characters?! Well I never! (Side-eyes the entire Spider-Verse AND Clone Saga, the 12 different Crimson Dynamos, the numerous alternate Wolverines that have crossed over into the 616, multiple Ghost Riders, the half-dozen plus knock-off Hulks (Red Hulk, the OTHER Red Hulk, Skaar, Lyra, Red She-Hulk, Brawn, A-Bomb...), etc. then glances over to DC with six Robins, several Flash-es, six HUMAN Green Lanterns (seven if you count Alan Scott) and dozens of other Green Lantern Corps members... the various OTHER color Lantern Corps, two Green Arrows, multiple Superboys and Supergirls, the Shazam Family [though the defunct Fawcett comics can be thanked for that], etc. ad infinitum.) Yeah... that NEVER happens.
...I'm a comics fan, but ideas do get run into the ground sometimes. And by "sometimes" I mean frequently.

9:53 So disappointed that Forget-Me-Not or Eye-Scream didn't make the list. Forget-Me-Not whenever you break line of sight with him you forget every thing about him, he cannot turn this power off and there is an entire comic dedicated to the X-men wondering who refilled the toilet paper in the bathroom because it was Forget-Me-Not, actually a pretty useful fighting ability since you just need to break line of sight to ambush anybody, but rubbish because of how intrusive the power is. Eye-Scream has the power to turn into any flavor of ice scream including a banana split, that's it, he's just ice scream.
Honorable mention to Obnoxio the Clown because he's just your average divorced clown so he's slightly malevolent, but he still does children's birthday parties because I reiterate he's just a clown. He actually appeared in the Spider-man arcade game so he's clearly the best Marvel character ever getting that video game representation.

  • @rubberbandjigglephysicseva9016

Slapstick is arguably one of the most powerful people as his powers are completely broken, The Mask comics are a good example of a way his powers can be interpreted, or imagine a person who takes no meaning full damage and just laughs it off like old Slapstick cartoons truly terrifying to fight.

Here's a tip: While it's free, the ChatGPT AI is a great substitute to Googling for obscure facts like "Who is the superhero [name]" You'll need to make an OpenAI account, but that's easy and free too. I find it's great for simple answers to questions like these, but remember that it's database is pre-2021.

As far as this game goes, though, if it doesn't understand that The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl is, well, _unbeatable,_ then I'm not sure I could bring myself to play it! It would be like having a Deadpool that didn't break the fourth wall! :)

I'm usually super up to date with latest news and releases, but somehow with Marvel Snap I was like "What is nominated for best mobile game again??? Wait, it won?!?!" I don't take it as a point of pride. I'm actually ashamed that I never heard of it before the gala, but I feel safer knowing that the marketing bots don't read my mind THAT well yet and I wasn't profiled all that thoroughly yet.

With how many popular characters there are like Captain America, Thor, Venom and Wolverine it’s surprising how many Stan Lee didn’t intervene with making sure they weren’t on shelves due to how bad they were
