Got my S9 in beige yesterday, huge step up from my S7+ and love the smaller screen and lighter weight. For tablet, the speakers are amazing.

Do you feel like you gave up too much screen release jumping to thr base model? Is the size big enough to handle multi tasking multiple windows well?
@@reverend_wintondupree Not in my case as I don't use multiple windows. If I did, I believe it would work fine, but with arthritis and carpal tunnel wreaking havoc on my hands, the smaller option was the best option as it is much lighter. But if I didn't have those health problems and actually used like a laptop I would have got the Ultra model. Good luck and enjoy your choice, these things are a beast compared to the S7 line.

Am on the fence between the base and + models if only just so that it's big enough to constantly have 3 windows setup but not too large where I can't comfortably use it as a document reader/editor in portrait while traveling. The one drawback to the Tabs is the form factor for the wider screen losing on the height in portrait/landscape compared to say the ipads. The more squared ratio feels much easier to hold even for the larger screens.
@@samjhanakumal7292 I don't think so from the brief research I did, but I've never used that on my Pixel 7 Pro, which actually does support it. Strange such large battery devices don't offer it, but a smaller phone does. Going back to an S phone when I can afford, the ATT Pixel is a horrible experience after coming from S series phones since they debuted. Pure Android Pixel hopefully isn't so bad. Good luck.

I just picked up the Tab S9 Ultra... what a beautiful display. Planning to use it as both my "computer" and my "tablet" though I'm not sure the size will work for the latter yet... TBD.

I tried DeX for the first time since I owned the Tab S7+. It's SO much smoother and refined now. A really good desktop experience.
Yess I've been waiting for this.
The kickstand on the higher end model is great. I dont know what youre talking about. The ability to put it in multipe angles when watching media or playing games is very valuable and makes a big difference. Expecially if you have the Ultra. Also the ability to take keyboard off is great
Great video as always. Watching on my Tab S8, in Dex mode. I like the new model but I don't see that there is enough to make me upgrade. Maybe I'll wait for the S10 to come out and I get the S9 on sale. That's what I did with my S8.
Mine arrived yesterday with the bonus slim keyboard cover and double storage and a complimentary Buds2 Pro as compensation for the stress I experienced getting 85" QN900C delivered. Timing was good as 1TB Micro SD card arrived at the same time. Your review is the one I have been waiting for.

Do you use the s9+ in your hands much? Is the size too unwieldy to hold comfortably for long periods?
Don't have my S9+ yet, but specs say it's pretty much exactly the same as my S7+. Which I can hold comfortably for long periods, either portrait or landscape. And I have very small hands.
mine came yesterday and i was impressed by the 100000 times they wrapped it in that paper/cardboard stuff :)
Just got my Tab S9, and I can instantly notice how lighter the tablet feels. One UI 6 also just installed, and it is just a nice improvement.

I got the Galaxy Tab S9 12gb of ram and 256gb for around BRL 3749,10 (US$760) last month, and it came with the keyboard case, and man, this thing is amazing. It has an amazing performance. The battery lasts the entire day and still has like 35 to 40% left at the end of the day. The S Pen is amazing, too, and i didn't know i needed it. Taking notes with it is really good. Before i had the Tab S9, I had to type my notes on a notes app. Now, it's really easy and satisfying to take notes using the galaxy notes and goodnotes.
It is the best aquisition i had in years.

I have a tab s8 ultra but im most likely getting the tab s10+ when it comes out. Found out the tab s8 ultra was too big for me but it's still a huge improvement from my galaxy tab a 10.5 inch. If the tab s10+ has a 1tb model, take my money.
my S9 Ultra came yesterday and i must say i am very impressed. but that never ending paper had me thrown off unwrapping it.

Here in Brazil if you buy the tab s9 in the preorder you get the memory upgrade + the keyboard case, it's insane. Unfortunately I'm poor 😂
One always needs more paper to send sentitive items thru thr mail. My Tab S9+ and Flip Z 5 had enough to return ship my recliner if needed. I appreciate that.

Spen works even if it's not charged. It needs charging for bluetooth functionality.
Also, the false writing sound was there in Tab S8 as well. There's an option to turn it on/off.

Even though the Tab S8 is still working very well in 2023, upgrading is highly recommended due to the Tab S9's stunning OLED display

That's a shame you didn't get the keyboard with the pre order. Some retailers in the UK are doing the free slim keyboard with it with the double memory upgrade. Tempted ...
Finally the 11" version is getting the oled display. Also big thank you Samsung for keeping the SD card slot. Any tablet without one should be banned.
My Tab S9 ultra was delivered yesterday, all i can say is WOW. The screen is awesome. The big form factor is not a problem as many youtubers would have you believe. IMO it's the perfect size for work a d play

@anonymouse2847 you definitely can. Switch to Samsung Dex mode on the tablet and you basically operate it like a Windows laptop

Nice, finally a reviews about tab s9 and not s9 ultra. All I see is tab s9 ultra being review on youtube like wth?were the base model?! I just like the small screen if it small like ipad mini that should be great.

The warning is mainly for the back cover not fitting properly with the camera in the back. If you rewatch the video, you can see the gap at camera bump. If you can live with that then the keyboard will function as normal

yo recibi la mia (tab S9) hace unos dias y no me arrepiento de haberla comprado, tengo que aclarar que es mi primer Tab antes no tenia ninguna otra version.
It took me a decade to get all the packing off mine also. 😆😅🤣 I bought the keyboard case because it was a lower price, still wish the keys lit up. Only diffrence in the casses is the cover over the S-pen.
What about the camera on the back? Does it cause the back of the keyboard case to feel awkward as the camera on the S8 is different than the S9. I have the Samsung Protective Standing Cover Case for the S8 and hoped it fit okay with the S9.
Got mine too. I got the memory upgrade to from 128 to 256, in addition, i have the keyboard slim case as a freebie 😊😊😊.. overall this is the best size for me for a tablet. Display is the 👌 😅

Same for me. But gotta wait until the 15th to get mine. Free storage and ram upgrade, Slim keyboard, and Samsung Care for 1 year.
Also 4 months of CZcams Premium. Tho I'm already in a family premium plan. Might just give it away. LOL

@@anandn6594Country specific. PO deal varies by country. Some get free slim keyboard, some get 50% off book keyboard with trackpad, some unfortunately get no keyboard deal at all.

You can turn on face tracking in Lab which will zoom in and track when you move during video call
My old keyboard case was very inconsistent with my s9 btw. Aside from camera cutout not marching
Watching from my galaxy tab s7+. I think I'm gonna wait at least 5 generations before I change my tablet. S7+ still works fine for me. Although I hope samsung will make the S-mini version (8+ inch) so that it can fit in my small travel bag.
Been waiting too for tab S 8-inch since forever to upgrade my current tab A 8-inch tablet with S pen. I ended up buying tab S9 11-inch bcs I can't wait forever, my current tablet feels very slow compared to my phone. Too bad Samsung doesn't consider 8-inch market for the flagship.

@@asifyusoff5377 Yeah me, too. Almost wanna upgrade to ipad mini, but don't wanna ditch the Samsung ecosystem. Fortunately tab S9 is here with dynamic amoled, snapdragon 8 gen 2 (less heat, better battery life), n that ip68. So I just embrace the 11-inch for now, I guess.
8" is too close to the larger smartphone sizes and also starts to become too hard to use work productivity apps. Id recommend the 11" screen and then buy a slightly bigger travel bag and call it a day.
So I’m guessing that means the S8 book cover will work with the S9 as well. Good because I’m not feeling the origami design on the S9’s book cover
Mine arrived yesterday afternoon (the gray one). All that packaging comes in hand for the trade-in. I got the basic one-piece keyboard case half price and im not a fan. The two-piece with the trackpad and kickstand is far better. But the old case doesnt work on the S9.

do you prefer the 12.4 inc or 10.9 inc? if I need to use the tablet as a notbook and as a comuter. I am an ingeniring student and both are really importent to me. I alredy have a lenovo comuter but maby insted of taking 2 things it will be easyer to by the 12.4 inc and use it as a comuter. On the other hand I feel like it is more Compact and simple to use the smaller one as a notbook.

is it true the internal specs are basically the same throughout all 3 of the S9 series? I prefer smaller tablets to carry around to work and I hated how the last Tab S8 series had better specs the bigger you went.

There should be no separate face unlock camera. Instead there are two separate ambient light sensors on the front bezel

With that keyboard case, does the camera cut out also fit the new, I think larger, camera? I like that slim keyboard vs the full one, but also like the pen holder on the case, which is absent from the new one.
I don't think so! If you look carefully at the corner near the camera, the cover is lifted.
Yeah I could see that too. Bummer, cuz I really like that pen holder in the "spine" of the case. Maybe they will have one with that for the Tab S9 FE

Appreciate reviewing basic version and including keyboard, albeit previous version. Most reviews seem to focus on higher end and lack accessories.
Still undecided but it's a tempter for sure. I'm an android man and this would be replacing basic iPad.
Got the S9 Tablet. Love it. Unfortunately, Samsung Support told me Tab S8 keyboard would work with it. Well it works fine. The problem is that the camera lens is bigger and so it doesn't fit! Crazy! You'd think they would know! Troubles all on me. No help from Samsung. Be warned.

These days so called tech influencers are complaining and nitpicking about everything the companies do
Preordering S8 with KeyBoard case free was one of the best decisions I ever took. A tab needs a keyboard case (specially if you are into Dex) and these days they cost almost 40% of the tabs amount which is unfair.
Tbh the preorder package varies by country. Some still get free slim book keyboard (one without trackpad) included. Some got 50% off book keyboard (with track pad) included in PO deal. So, tab S9 is still a nice bundling for some countries.
I would likr to see the price of the Gallaxy S9 to go down $600.

Voice-to-text on my S8 is horrible! Also, while watching a video it shuts of if I touch the top of the tablet. I don't understand why. No, not the unlock section. Anyway, I'm upgrading because I'll only have to pay $300 when I trade in my S8. Whether or not I encounter the same issues...TBD.

The magnet for the S9 is too weak. My pen is always falling off.
I just hope S8+ drops in price a bit more, I don't mind 1 less Android update and no IP68

You should have just waited a month. Now they include the slim keyboard case and the memory upgrade with it.

@@srobeck77 You JUST looked at the website. When I wrote that a week ago. They did have that as a deal still. It ended on the 11th I believe. Now they have a new FALL deal that doesn't include that. But I am pretty certain that deal will be back Black Friday or Cyber Monday. I never pre order my s8 ultra but they still had free keyboard deal for a different holiday such as memorial day. (And they offered the more expensive keyboard case with that deal not just the slim case) Just check black in Nov holiday season. The bundle will more than likely be offered again.
Im so split between getting the S9 tablet or the Ipad pro 2021 11inch for uni. I have a windows desktop and a mac laptop so i could do either one for synergy.
At least for me tab sPen writing experience is much better than iPad. Although iPad is more powerful if you need that power.
M1 iPad hands down for long term OS updates. My Tab s6 barely got 3 years while my Air 2 got 7 years worth of updates.
@@JurkusMartynasThe power difference between the iPad Pro 2021(M1) and the Tab S9 is not as big as many think, especially since on the Tab S9, Samsung overclocked the 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy, since there is more surface than on a smartphone to be able to manage the heating, and above all, the Tab S9 have an integrated cooling system.
And on the Tab S9, you have, iP 68 for water and dust protection, an Oled display much better and brighter than the iPad, Samsung Dex, the Spen in the box and you can expand the storage memory through an SD card.
Can someone share with me experiences using goodnote app on tab s9?
