But I never prepared for any entrances and thought if I got good marks in 12th , I will win the world

I am living in Chennai and almost all the colleges here have lots of companies visiting them. Colleges that have higher ranks have more MNCs visiting them. But the accessibility to knowledge is equal to all. Nowadays people can learn everything for free from the internet. I have colleges near me whose Nirf ranking is low but their highest package is 1 crore. How? They are not IIT, so How? -Exceptional cases.
Good Colleges don't give Good Jobs in India, Good colleges give Good Opportunities in India. Good Jobs are completely dependent on students. But remember Good Colleges might guarantee you a Job,but What benefit is it to have a low-paying job in this high-inflation era?

The most depressing thing about passing out class 12 is no one wants to hear about your preferences , your dream colleges and plans. Parents are all brainwashed by society thinking that for an engineering YOU FUCKING have to take part in the Jee rat race and if you dont get into IIT or NIT you are nothing.

Its so much ironic my own parents who have been supportive all year about my future plans of applying into top universitites in abroad with scholarships and grants and FINALLY WHEN I AM GETTING THE OFFERS , my relatives , my so called "well wishers" brainwashed my parents into thinking that "How you can you let him go so far , India has so many good colleges . Make him give Jee , Vitee for good colleges ". A student who had only studied for boards is suddenly pressurised into giving some of the toughtest exams in India with only 1 -1.5 months of upcoming preparation.

That is some good advice bro, i remeber we had a project where we either can make some mworking model or we can do some research and made research paper. We chose research on Namami Gange but all we did was just taking everything from internet and putting in the file.
Then we regret it and then i adviced my juniors that if you want to research, go to haridwar aur varanasi and then do some research, you'll enjoy the trip and you'll really learn something. They did that and thanked me.
