Wonderful to trip over this interview on CZcams. I had the honor of interviewing Joan back in 1975 while she was on the Rolling Thunder Revue with Bob Dylan and Joni Mitchell in Niagara Falls. We had a few minutes to interview all three separately. But Joan Baez left me spellbound with her sense of humanity. And her performance ran the gamut from a hysterical Dylan impression to the somber heartfelt memories of an unjust war. What a voice, and she can sing too.

“You - special, miraculous, unrepeatable, fragile, fearful, tender, lost, sparking ruby emerald jewel, rainbow splendor person. IT’S UP TO YOU.
Would it embarrass you very much if I were to tell you that I love you?”
This is what Joan Baez answered once when asked on what to do to make ours a better world to live. Pure poetry, pure wisdom, pure goodness.
Joan Baez, a bodhisattva among us ,knows how to touch the best we whatsoever have in our hearts and souls. Her voice is as powerful, tender ,warm and truthful as ever.Love and Gratitude.
    Thank you too, George Minister.

I went to my first Joan Baez concert when I visited my aunt in Palm Alto when I was about 16. Started going to her concerts again when I was 56 or so. Love Joan not just for her music but for her commitment to justice and non-violence. Every time I go to her concerts I take her a gift and I hope she will play near to Louisiana so I can afford to go before she retires without too much driving. Don't usually write comments because there are people writing pure craziness here.

Joan baez hasn't changed a note when it comes to where she stands on her true beliefs and that is a very good thing. The world could do with more Joan Baez's in the world--a Gandhi and Martin luther approach would give us a needed pause and perhaps a great deal more empathy and kindness.

Thank Joan Baez! You have been gifted with a beautiful voice and a very beautiful heart. You have shown us how to gracefully accept
change and continue to sing beautifully- and to live and love with compassion and honesty and respect one another. War is not the answer!

So glad to hear Joan Biaz again. She was so very inspirational and still is. Her voice sounds wonderful,as always. Thanks for recognizing her talent. She is such a brave and caring lady. I like Bob Dylan , too, but I think he wasn’t as passionate about issues as she was and perhaps not as brave.

CHRIS WOOD, SHE CREATED THE BAEZ STYLE. She worked hard ,as she always does ,to improve her guitar, to give it richness of sound, since most of the time, specially on her beginning ,it was her and herself, and her Wonderful talent and rare soul.

I love hearing from Joan, but Amanpour is not my favorite interviewer. She’s too heavy handed to let the person she’s talking to wander down an unexpected path. Her questions are so uninspired. I’ve heard Joan answer those same tired Dylan questions so many times and give the same responses. Oh well.

Brenda Carter that’s the political vs. entertainer conflict of being serious and not serious. Also, Christiane did not grow up in the USA so she doesn’t have the depth of feel for musicians from that time. But it’s okay, because Joan likes Christiane.

While you have familiarity with Joan Baez, most folks do not and Christiana is working to give her audience a broad sense of Joan's many years of folk music, social activism and steadfast commitment to non-violence. I have deeply respected the work of both of these women through the very many shared years. Peace.
