When Jake is able to compete at a high level with contenders in his weight class, then he will get the validation hes seeking. Until then, keep doing fights like this, gaining experience, honing the craft. Pay. Your. Dues. Put your head down and put the work in instead of being mad people arent acting like the dues are already paid. What he is doing is FINE. Its what boxers at his level SHOULD be doing. Difference is those boxers dont pretend they deserve to be treated like Canelo while doing it. They understand they just aren't there yet.
Jake pauls boxing career has worked so backwards its wild to see, i dont think he cares about the money or fame of it anymore until he fights a pro boxer with a big name.
low iq comment fr, jakes fighting these easier guys to build up his record and get ring time, just like all the other top boxers... Jake wants more then just best influencer so he’s taking the traditional route and not taking huge ppv selling opponents then he will start taking more real challenges
How is it backwards? first u guys say fight a real boxer if ur serious about boxing, if anything this is the right step forward in terms of building a career in “traditional boxing”
@@matthewabraham4408 no it isn't. This is, like his last opponent, a guy who has been inactive for more than 5 years before clearly restarting his career because he got the call from Paul's team. This isn't a decent journeyman. This is a guy with a puffed up record who has been knocked out in the first round by decent journeymen. This is "traditional" if your only objective is to pad your record, not gain experience. Jake isn't going to gain anything experience-wise from this.
@@Abner-gj3lg Most journeyman that guys fight in the first ten fights have losing records, this guy is 17-2, just give the guy a break considering he only been boxing for a couple years. Idk why people hold him to a very high standard, that means they gotta do that for every boxer 🤷
backwards? u gotta be 12 years old and have no iq about life just stop commenting maybe even stop breathin
I see this fight being very similar to the Andre fight. This guy is a decent guy on the inside, but there’s no defensive responsibility or variation in the way how he enters range, just like Andre. Jake will sting him with jabs and put him out with a hard right hand behind his jab.
This is good fight for Paul but in terms of ACTUAL boxing experience, lol.
I can see Paul stepping up the level of opp soon this year weather that's the rematch with Tommy, or fighting a natural Cruiserweight instead of fighting Light Heavyweights coming up.
Ryan Bourland, with all due respect, does NOT present any challenge. My Granny could KO this guy. He has not fought for the last 7 years and he is 36 years old. The CZcamsr wanna-be is regressing, not progressing.
Disagree. This isn't the kind of opp you pick when you want to build yourself as a boxer, this is someone you pick when you want to build yourself as a boxrec resume that looks ok if you don't look at anything other than the record. Like Jake's last opponent, this guy was inactive for the better part of a decade before deciding, for *mysterious* reasons, to resume his career against a random tin can, right before the Paul fight is announced. The guy who knocked out this guy, Israel Duffus, hasn't won since 2020, has lost 5 in a row, including getting stopped in his last 2. A journeyman like Duffus, who has been in against better competition, who is an actual active boxer, is who Jake Paul would fight at this point to give himself a decent test while still fighting opposition that he should beat. I think Jake knows he found his ceiling with the Tommy Fury fight and is moving accordingly.
@@raulcitraro Never said he did.
@@Abner-gj3lg Like I said, in terms of experience it's good for HIM. Also, Duffus JUST got stopped in December. So that's like maybe 30, 60, or a 90-day suspension for him to even complete once again.
I just mean it's not good for him as a fighter. It's not going to make him better. You can find a way anything is a good thing, I suppose. And re Duffus: 1. March is 3 months after December 2. Jake had chosen to fight this guy long before Duffus fought in December, if he had offered that fight to Duffus instead he wouldn't be filling the journeyman role in December and 3. Duffus is just one example of countless fighters who would be a better opponent. Nowhere near the top of the sport, not even on the Tommy Fury level, but still a baby step up. This guy is just the same as the last guy, a never-was who hadn't fought for over half a decade. He got a call from Jake, got back in the ring for a very easy fight so he can be said to be "active" and then on to the paycheck for getting KOd by a youtuber@
Thank you for making this video, it feels like the fight hasn't had alot of buildup, it feels like the announcement from Andre August to the fight itself went by really quick, atleast we have the press conference this month so that'll be nice, but yeah thank you for covering this!
It’s funny how Jake beating golden glove pros with positive records isn’t good enough for us which speaks to how high we rate jake
That’s a valid take tbh. For me things changed when he said he wants to be a world champion
@@roundhouseradio yeah we just have to remember it won’t happen over night if it does he just has to stay active like this too build the missing experience
If a CZcamsr wanna-be wants to gain credibility as a boxer, he would have to go up against ASBAROV, a highly skilled fighter with a 5-0-0 record, who is currently ranked in the RING CRUISERWEIGHT RANKINGS. In addition, there's ZHANG, ranked 15 in the same rankings, with a record of 11-2-1, and Cheavon Clarke, a top-ranked contender with a record of 8-0-0. Clarke has won all 8 of his bouts, with 6 of them ending in knockouts, giving him a current knockout ratio of 75%. His fights typically last for 5 rounds, and he has boxed a total of 40 rounds so far.
Jose Hernandez did go the distance with Mike Lee who have plant a tough fight. Just something to note.
Mike Lee did not give Plant a tough fight. Are u a casual?... GEESH!
I think these fights are good for Jake to gain experience, Jake just started boxing professionally at 23 and his fighting golden gloves, state champions, yes even though retired they are getting a chance to come back and show their talents on the main stage, a chance which they never got on their career, honestly hoping this guy can take Jake the distance but the way his giving Jake zero respect tells me his getting knocked out

Good video
What happen to the canelo poster🤔
I think people would take jake seriously if he fought a natural cruiserweight, fighter between 27-33 years old, active fighter, and undefeated with some knockouts
💯 agree! This is Paul's tenth fight, he can only go up from here.
@brmawe he probably gone keep fighting inactive, 35+, naturally smaller boxers for at least another year unfortunately
No, they wouldn't, they'd just accuse all his bouts being rigged
@@lamertofar8gaming443 maybe one or two more, but after he should go after the Tommy rematch, close that chapter then fight natural CW's which I think is the goal this year for Paul.
@@brmawe by closing that chapter u mean lose again?
jake makes these fights like therr headliners
2022 back to 2018 is a 4 year difference not 2 years. So since after his fight in 2018 he has had 1 fight in 6 years not 1 fight in 4 years
Thank you 🙏
I swear to god jake can never win no matter what he does. Hes doing all this without ZERO amatuer or boxing background, coming from youtube and disney… The kid beat UFC legends, put tommy fury down on the canvas and knocked out a 10-1 PRO BOXER, now he announced his next opponent who even has a better record than august and is 17-2 but now the goal post has moved again. Hes not good enough because it's not a top 10 boxer THE LEVEL OF DISCREDIT IS INSANE 💀
Bro facts, the funny thing is, that right now he has a better record than 80% of pro boxers out there who are fightning guys like 5-1 or 8-3 or worse in their 10th fight 💀💀💀

He's not being discredited. He's being credited at the level he should be which is novice. He's a novice. He should be fighting people with no experience and knocking out journeymen. It was a pipedream to think he could beat Tommy who has leagues more experience, is in his weight class, and the same age.
Most boxers at this point are doing what Jake does because they are gaining experience and trying to move up the ranks. Which is fine. However, they don't get treated like big prize fighters who are doing something miraculous because they aren't. They pay their dues to GET fo that point. Jake is paying his dues but wants to get treated like the dues are paid. You don't get that at THIS point. You haven't DONE anything. You have to get to a point where you're competing with actual contenders in your weight class before you do. That's normal in the sport.

hi
Jake Paul will end his career with a boxing match with Elon musk 🤣💀
Thanks for calling a 36 year old young 😅
Jake will beat him early. the guy was 2 years off, he is old and smaller that jake aswell, has no power to keep jake off, i see a ko under 3.
Jake Paul should just fight Mike Perry or somebody else with a big name.. cuz these boxers arent good compared to the MMA guys he last fought. Tyron,Anderson Silva and Nate Diaz would beat Andre angust.
They definitely wouldn't
so when jake fights another mma fighter you'll hear the same shit over and over again: "jake paul fighting mma fighters again, fight a real boxer"
@@revowowbut when he fights a boxer he fights one that’s 9 years older retired and isn’t naturally a CW clearly he’s fighting rigged fights for him to win cuz it’s clear he’s scared to take another loss

dang you really became a hater after taking wades spot on missfits
How? He’s just stating his opinion
how? he is just spitting facts. Don't be upset that facts come out as critical
he definitely seems like he’s changed up a little since then, idk tho
Bro is the most unbiased in the scene
His competition is backwards the guys he facing now are tin cans mma guys was tougher but still damaged retired mma guys
'Promosm' 😉
I wonder if Jake bald is gonna man up and spar Strickland in Vegas without his handlers contract designed to keep the kid alive
Bald
Silly and pointless. It's all talk. It's called the fight business for a reason. Jake has run out of people to fight. He only has Viddal Riley then it's retirement. His too good for all the influencers now. His stuck in the middle
@@boshirahmed Jake bald stuck in the middle on an elderly elite meat sandwich
Who would be a pro boxer with a big name Jake could fight that he would have at least a chance of beating?

None. That's the point. He's not THERE yet. Boxers at his level don't get treated like their doing miraculous things because they aren't yet. Pay your dues until you can compete at a high level. Don't knockout journeymen tin cans and ask for a standing ovation. Boxers know they aren't going to get that recognition until they can compete with contenders in their weight class. It's simple as that
