Japan is a beautiful country and I love Japanese culture and sensibility : ) I do NOT see anything wrong with bowing to another person especially as this is a Japanese way of greeting and showing respect. When the 2 ladies bow to each other, the "niat" or intention is a farewell greeting - they were not worshipping one another! In Malay culture, when we kiss our parents' hands (or the elderly), we also bow and bend our heads a little lower as a sign of respect. In the creation of Adam, Allah commanded the Angels to prostrate to Adam. And the Angels fell in prostration except Iblis. This is not a command by Allah to worship Adam - but a gesture of respect for Allah's amazing creation. Wallahu a'lam (only Allah knows best)
