What I Spend in a Week as a 23 Year Old Working in Finance in NYC

  • I've been seeing a lot of "What I Spend in a Week" videos on CZcams lately but I've noticed that a lot of them are made by pretty well established CZcamsrs or influencers. So in this video, I wanted to offer a bit of a different perspective of what weekly expenses might look like living in NYC - from someone that's just working a 9-5 job in finance and not (yet) raking in the CZcams sponsorship money 😅.

    Great video, nice seeing another "what I spend" video. Like you said, it's interesting to see an up and coming influencer talking about cost of living etc.

    I love seeing this sort of daily-life style's video clip and thank you for sharing. BTW, don't drink too much of the bubble tea that's not good for health

    Depends on the location, but I’d argue NYSC isn’t 80% as good as Equinox. The latter is much more expensive, but if you get a rebate from work it may be worth it. Would recommend that 76th street location on Amsterdam. Newer club and the bonus is its right across from Chirping Chicken, which is affordable and provides really good bang for the buck for protein needs. And like half the gym goes there.

      I don't get too much of a discount from work unfortunately but thanks for the info, definitely something to consider. In your opinion, what do you like most/what makes Equinox much better than most other gyms?

    • @adammanzor4925
      @adammanzor4925 Před rokem

      @@aaron_yao Compared to NYSC or Crunch, everything is just a notch higher and cleaner. Some of the NYSCs or Crunches can be a bit dirtier, some equipment out of order, smaller, service not as good, etc.
      Big exception is the Equinox in Columbus Circle. The gym is great, the changing room is a nightmare since all of the steam from steam room is trapped in locker room area.
      If you're happy, then don't change, but if you haven't taken a tour of an Equinox, I'd recommend it.
      Just don't go to the one on 67th and Columbus. That's in a tier all by its own.

    Do you freeze your food from meal prep to last it all week? Really great video. You could also take advantage of NYPL to get free books. Good for your wallet and great for the environment.

      Thank you! I don’t freeze my food and the NYPL is a good suggestion! I do tend to make notes on my books though…

    Do you own a car in nyc? Is it worth it

    • @aaron_yao
      @aaron_yao  Před rokem +1

      I don't and probably won't be getting one - public transport and walking is enough for me plus the costs associated with owning a car don't outweigh the benefits for me.
