My head-canon: Cucumbers is the mortal part of Undertaker's link to humanity. It is something the Reaper cannot fully control.
Cucumber is what freed him and briefly allows him to become the fully human motorcycle driving Dead Man persona. It all connects!!

@Seth Iddings He has a certain time period of enjoying his mortal life as long as the cucumber is still a cucumber. But the longer is in the jar, the more it is turning into a bitter sour pickle. One it completes its transformation from cucumber to picke, he loses his mortal soul and is once again possessed by The Reaper. Basically, like the jarred magic rose from Beauty and the Beast. In his reaper form, he is unbeatable but loses his soul. It was the only reason the streak was broken.

My grandma (who’s been watching wwe since literally day one, whole life) met Mic at Comicon and took a picture with him. She didn’t like how she looked and Mic let her cut in line and take another one she liked and they talked for a bit. He was so sweet to her. She finally got to go to wrestlemania last year, and unfortunately passed a few months ago. I’m glad she was able to come full circle and have those moments before her stroke

Dude threw a hissy fit over facing Undertaker at WrestleMania cause he thought he was a bigger deal than Rock vs. Cena, and he thought it was disrespectful that he "only" had an Undertaker match at WrestleMania.

The idea of Mick Foley babysitting Paul Bearer's kids just amuses me to no end...
This isn't someone being afraid of cucumbers or being insane. It's just a bodily reaction to having gotten sick after eating cucumbers. I have a similar reaction to a certain dish after being forced to eat it as a child and then going to basketball practice. After working up a sweat during practice I became nauseous and that was the end of me ever eating that again. To this day I cannot be inside a room or house that has the smell of that particular dish. I can eat all of the ingredients on their own, though it did take me 40 years to be able to eat one of the ingredients again, but combine them all together and I instantly feel nauseous all over again. I know quite a few other people that have the same type of reaction to one type of food or the other. Not that uncommon of a reaction, more like the body thinking it needs to go into self preservation mode.
It is a response to help humans avoid ingesting poisonous stuff. Your body links the food with illness and ruins it for you 😢
But dry heaving by just looking at the food is pretty unusual.

I first heard about this in an interview between Jim Cornette and Paul Bearer. Apparently before his matches, they'd put a cucumber in his hat and in the fingers of his gloves. Musta been great to watch 'Taker's reaction.

@@tafua_a I'm pretty sure the "incident" was that his mother served him cucumber a lot, but one day he began choking on it and almost died, so every time he was given cucumber he refused to eat it. I don't remember who said it, I think Dustin or Kane, but that's the story I heard on "why" he hates them.
I don't think he liked them either as a kid, I'm guessing it was just a "I was forced to eat them as a kid" type of thing and than after choking on a food he already didn't like, he made them his sworn enemy.
The reason wrestling was so great back in the day is the same reason these interviews and one person shows are so great now...the people in the business were interesting, weird people. Up until the last 20 years wrestling wasn't a stepping stone to mainstream, pop culture stardom. It was still pretty tied up in the old carnie mentality so it attracted all sorts of outsiders and crazy people who were more interesting than the characters they played. There are still great performers now but only a handful of interesting personalities.

I know that this is a funny story, but man, when you sit and think about phobias, it really is a strange and interesting topic.
I remember as a kid laughing when I'd see shows about people who have phobias of mustard or clowns and other strange objects, but then in college I remember learning about phobias in psychology. It was such a fascinating thing to learn about the different things that trigger different people.
I once worked with a guy who had a deep phobia of the honeycomb pattern. I think I learned that because of a picture in a magazine where a guy had the honeycomb pattern tattooed on his neck. And the guy had to leave the room.

Last year, I completed my collection of all the original Goosebumps titles. All first printings with the original hand painted artwork.
