Keeps our Pond from freezing over

The bucket is adjusted as water levels change to keep the sump pump at a safe and decent operating level. Although it won't keep the pond completely ice free in very cold weather, it does a good job keeping the pond thawed where it creates waves. There is an inline GFCI. Check for codes in your area and be safe. Electricity around water can be dangerous. This is a homemade project and not endorsed by anyone. Anything similiar should only be done by a professional.
