Man, I really love this car! Shmee bought an Imola Gray painted one last year and had it repainted with one of Mercedes' pretty blue colors and had the OEM black colored wheels changed to silver... it looks REEEEEALLY good! The icing on the cake is the RENNtech exhaust and engine upgrades. The sounds his car makes is simply GLORIOUS!!!

It’s really a shame only 5 of these cars exist in this color. Mars Red looks absolutely fantastic on the SLS Black with all the black and carbon trim. Definitely one of the best colors on the car imo
there’s more than 5, only 5 were brought to the US, the others are in Europe and other markets
Hope this one does not peal clear coat like the rest of red mars from Mercedes.

I agree with your assessment about the future of cars. We are at the end of the last golden age for the ICE. Manufacturers know this, that's why we've been getting cars like the SLS Black Series, the mid-engine Corvette (finally!), The Carrera GT you mentioned, its why Dodge will sell you a Challenger that runs high 9s/low 10s in the quarter mile from the factory, and many more examples. Manufacturers are showing us their absolute best while they can.

Great video John! You've got to love the AMG Motors. Mike Kübler and others at AMG certainly know how to build a bulletproof engine. I think every Mercedes AMG Black Series is an amazing Car on it's own.

Agree 💯 the golden era has finished, I think any car from that era will only keep going up in price. The days of big displacement naturally aspirated engines are gone. It’s a little bit sad.

SLS Black Series is one of my dream cars. In solar beam yellow. This Mars Red looks amazing though. The ugliest one I ever saw was one that was resprayed 'galactic pink'. Thankfully it was repainted to Anthracite Black

Sadly the US cars are more of a 'grey series', as they miss out on the true black series interior. When an SLS BS pops up for sale on my Island, they list for AU$1m (US$720k+) or more.
If you could get one for 1 mill AUD you'd be laughing! You're looking at 1.5+, closer to 2mill these days
