I wouldn't think any less of her for not "waiting in the truck" for his 25-life sentence being over. I wouldn't expect it from her if I was in his situation. It's not about finding love or making her his woman.
It's just right and wrong and what you're prepared to sacrifice for the principle of it. I've been close to that situation, but she refused to tell me where he was at or even who he was. With some luck I'll find out and meet that SOB some day. He may have had his turn with the justice system, but he's almost certainly out by now.

I was brought here from a reaction video I watched.... I'm a survivor of severe domestic abuse. I've had a broken spine, crushed wind pipe, broken bruised ribs, and collar bone. I've been choked out, beaten, tossed down a flight of stairs when I was 8 months pregnant, had my fair share of ICU stays and he would still manage to bail out and come back. He would do worse than before and then I was told if I reported it again I wouldn't even make it to ICU. I had been isolated from my family and friends, lived several hours away from anyone that I thought could help me. But the day the abuse was aimed at my then 9-month-old son (He picked him up and threw him at me like a rag doll) I found the courage to leave. He's the kind of person that changes the doorknobs inside out so when I would get "in trouble" I'd be locked in the room, or while he went to work. I am a firm believer that I would have been dead if I stayed any longer. My son saved my life. I believe that with all my heart. I had to wait until he was asleep, his mother helped me hide my son. I left with the clothes on my back and a backpack with any important paperwork. My siblings drove 6 hours to come to rescue me. I had to force my brother to just drive off after I got in the car and he saw that my eyes were bruised shut and I couldn't speak because my windpipe was crushed. He was so controlling that he drove out those six hours to my family's home with a shotgun to kill me and kill himself. Thankfully my father and brother were both there. This was almost 20 years ago and I still have anxiety attacks and PTSD from the physical abuse, rape, and mental trauma that I endured. But I am a Survivor. He was not a part of my child's life for many years until my son got older and never paid child support. I worked three jobs, went to school full time, became a psychologist to help others that have been through trauma, and continue to do so. I have since gotten married and had two children with the man that is "dad" to my son. HE raised him with me. HE paid for all his expenses, HE loves him as one of his own. That is what a Father should be. Sorry I got long-winded there.

I worked the streets as a LEO a few years and did many years with DOC (retiring 8yrs ago) now that I am not confined & restrained by a badge I can choose to see things a tad differently than the rule of law and the system dictate.
When the system, when society fails to protect those weakest among us it is left to rough men standing outside the rule of law to do what is necessary to preserve the peace, protect the innocent, and return civility.
Some times otherwise peaceful men must choose to be meaner than evil, they must do things that will haunt their dreams for the rest of their lives.

@@Cmoreau27 the percentage of toxic masculinity is minute compared to the positive masculinity. The reason you have the ability to live the life you live is because masculine men laid the foundation for you to be able to. One could argue American women are overly masculine and are the reason for most of the relationship problems that are encountered nowadays. Throwing around the phrase toxic masculinity is wearing the very men you wish to have protection from. Be mindful of what you spread 😊

The most dangerous time for a woman in a domestic violence situation is when she tries to leave.
I was in an abusive marriage, but we had a son together so I tried to make it work. (He wasn’t abusive to our son.) I remember showing my doctor a bruise on my arm the size of a softball and asking her if I should leave. She didn’t really respond. I remember later taking the 9 mm we had in our headboard & sitting in the bathroom in the middle of the night debating whether to put it to my head or his. At that point, I realized I had to leave, even though he had told me he would put a bullet in me and anyone who tried to help me leave. The neighbor tipped him off that I was going to try and leave. He took our son from me at gunpoint, then disappeared for several hours. The police criticized me for not stopping him (even though he had a gun) and not leaving him earlier. I had a good job, was educated and taught to be independent. But he had isolated me from friends and had eroded my self esteem to the point that I didn’t feel I was worthy of anything better. I was let down by my family, the medical system, law enforcement and the “justice” system that was supposed to protect me.
I am not advocating that anyone take justice into their own hands. The National Domestic Violence Hotline # is 800-799-7233. If you know someone in this situation, please encourage them to call. If you are in a similar situation, I want you to know that you are worthy and that you do have the strength to ask for help. It can mean the difference between being a domestic violence victim or a domestic violence survivor. 💕

What is amazing is that a good man, a stranger, saw a woman in the road, whiskey scared, bruised and battered, doesn't ask anything other than where he is. A complete stranger went and - in my opinion - of honor and morality permanently judged the evil doer and sacrificed his freedom for this woman in the road. Not once had he asked for anything in return. He only did what he KNEW and FELT in his soul to be right. Many may have opinions that he didn't have to kill him. I'm sorry, I have personal experiences that speak otherwise. Phenomenal storytelling in this song!!

Something I think that I never hear specifically commented on, but I think is great story telling imagery, Is the combination of its starting with her wandering lost/ beaten in a storm at the beginning, and then after she visits her "angel" in prison, her walking out free into the bright sunshine. Free from all the dark, horrible stuff she endured.

  • @cautiouslyoptimistic1962

Thank you, great reaction! I subscribed, loves and peace to you! Truth is, the guy would have done it again, and again. She may also have been sexually assaulted, it doesn't say except bruised and broke from head to toe. He'd just met her on the street, but this must have been that 'one more thing' that made him say not today Dude. IMO he ultimately saved her life. They get back out, defy no contact orders and there ya go. The girl winds up dead. *The dude played F around and find out one too many times!* Plus the acting in this...he beat on that door with PURPOSE! I also love the no regrets look on his face at the end when she says Thank you. No regrets. He said it was worth the price. The dude likely would have gone too far and killed her eventually.

The line was from a JUDGE under the seat. Judge is a specific pistol that is a very large caliber. And as to himnot being an angel, he was an avenging angel. Some men do not care who the person is, beating a woman is just not to be tolerated and the price he paid was nothing to him since it made the woman's life better. Some say he should have just taken her away from there but in most cases the women that are abused will go back to the abuser after a bit because the abuse claims he "loves her" and "will never do that again" , which they tend to go right back to the beating the minute he has a bad day.

Thank you so much for the reaction! I am a fan of so many genre's of music I cant really think of one that I simply just do not like...Its kind of like what you were describing earlier on in the video when you said that certain songs really move you...Music really moves me as well especially songs that can "paint a picture"with the story telling. There is another really great one that you should check out... the story telling in it is an A+++ It will not disappoint I promise its Brooks and Dunn and the title is "Believe". Thanks again keep up the awesome content. I Liked and subscribed and look forward to hearing more!

A small bit is helpless to protect a mother or a sister. He grows up and becomes a truck driver. He encounters a girl and realizes it will be worth his own sacrifice to be able to do what he could not as a child.

I agree with the video, even in grade school I understood abuse was. I would get between my dad, mom, and brothers. I would rather take the beating than watch them be beaten and be seen by a small town hospital. That was the 70’s and 80’s and a protective order is just paper it doesn’t stop a large abusive man. My dads eyes and mine turn dark blue or appear black when angry. My brothers and I promised to stop that from staying in the family. My dad, his dad, and some women are abusive my great grandmother.

This is justice! There are to many male cowards out there who do this kind of evil! I say male, because any guy who does this to a woman, or a child could never be a man! I have a wife, and three girls, and if any one hurt any of them... Well, I'll just leave it at that. Thanks!!!

You want some turmoil in your heart, love someone and then they tell you to just let it go because they got hurt because they were used and the person that used them are still hurting children. He is only in our lives because I keep him alive is what my daughter says, but it isn't just about family in our home, he is a bad person that preys on young kids.

I'll like your reaction, but this guy is going to stay in prison. My daughter has lost everything due to drugs. She has attacked physically everyone around her. The blood on her hands and dress is of her family. Sad I know. He broke into someone's house and killed him. 😢 he may have been defending himself. Idk.
