Were you playing the regular, or the joystick hack version? Were you using a key board or a controller? I can't for the life of me get it to play properly using either version with a controller. Ikari Warriors suffers the same fate. It's a shame as these are two of my favorite games.
This was the regular version of the game. I was just tapping the shoulder buttons on a controller to change the shooting direction. The buttons are mapped to inc and dec and where it says "analog controls", it needs to be set to 100 for sensitivity and 0 for digital speed. Awesome game, it was like an upgrade to Ikari Warriors. Too bad the ending was so weak.
