Huge respect that he is focusing so much on his YSL label and artists but I wish we got more emotional-ish solo album Thugger. Truly unique artist.

This is personally my favorite Thug project as well, especially sonically. I do think Jeffrey and Barter 6 are probably his overall best though. I’m Up is an extremely underrated project from him as well, but I would definitely recommend On The Rvn.
There’s a demo of Me Or Us with a young Post Malone on it, and the vinyl has a version with Travis Scott. Such a pleasant song.

I agree with you about the trap beats. Trap beats have gotten really boring nowadays no one trying to innovate. This album had some great beats and a big part of that was the innovation of producers trying to have some country influence in them.
Thugs trap beats in general are always great. Especially on So much fun and Jeffery the sound so exotic, tropical and organic

On Fire is actually my top 3 on the album, it grew on me a lot. his vocal inflections and the beat are so interesting and vibey

Jon, you should really consider reacting to the Huncho Jack project from quavo and travis scott. Some real good beats and flows that can take you to another dimension on this album very underrated

Tomorrow 'Til Infinity is still the only Young Thug song that I've genuinely and thoroughly enjoyed. It's a no-skipper for me on shuffle.
so glad you’re finally listening to more of thugs albums, but you really need to go back and listen to his Slime seasons 1-3, it’s from the same period as barter 6 it’s his best era

That you didn't say a single word while listening to Oh Yeah kinda broke my heart man. But tbh it didn't stand out for me on first listen neither but it grew on me to one of my favorite tracks ever. The minimalistic vibe is just perfect imo.

"Feel It" is really a masterpiece I've barely heard anything like this.
Bro the thing with thug in my opinion is his peak was 2014-2017 in terms of pure character. Most unique artist ever each project he released was different. Hes found himself more as an artist and is a legend but that era of thug you cant beat

Jon, I completely agree that instrumentals need to go back to the different lanes they were dipping into back in 2016 and prior! That era is when I really fell in love with Hip Hop during my earlier secondary school days and I really miss it. Im a big Thug fan and this is my favourite album by him.
