Moukhira and Kalikapur are the two villages of Purba Burdwan . These places are the ancient heritage place to explore. History lies here.
The history of Kalikapur Rajbari is about a Sadgop Zamindar Paramananda Roy who shifted from Moukhira to Kalikapur with his seven sons after acquiring large acres of fertile lands.
The mansion was built in 1761 shakbada i.e.1819 as per Jaggeshwar Chowdhury in his book ' Burdwan : Itihas O Sanskriti - vol.3 '.
The Satmahala Kalikapur Rajbari was built by Paramanda Roy, the Dewan of the Burdwan Maharaja for his seven sons. The terracotta work can be seen on the Rajbari. Many famous Indian film got short here . Mrinal Sen' s ' Goynar Bakso' and a Bengali movie ' Rosogolla' has 6 shot here.
