I don't know why I never thought of this before, but my lil' Klutzers (9 this December) has been alone for over a year after the loss of his 2 sisters and mom to various health problems. He has been so withdrawn, doesn't want to come near us humans, and has to keep himself away from my GCCs, and one of my GCCs is a bully! I tried to make sure he would have a friend with Momo (GCC), but all Momo wants to do is bite him. But, THIS!! This is perfect for him!! I get to hear him chirp and sing again! He has actually said "Kiss Kiss"! That is a little phrase my other GCC says all the time. We were so excited!

got 2 parakeets for a reason, also toys, a little pool to bathe in, name it,, I have it. (too excited) and birdies still looks pretty damn bored. I left cage open and they ignored it. So I played this, they went crazy, took off and now my home feels like a huge bird cage with a thousand of them in it! im glad they're not broken. thanks

Omgoodness I just got my baby not an hour ago. He was just chilling chkn out his new environment. I googled ths and immediately he started chirping! He’s evn moved and has started eating already! I’m hoping he’s loving his new home like I’m loving him. I got sooo excited when he started chirping 🥰 thanks sooo much for ths video!!!

OMG! Those are fantastic names! When my husband first got 2 parakeets 12.5 years ago, he started with this niche naming system: Bit and Byte. Then he kept going with Mac, Router, Dns, Wins, IP, Sway, and I cannot remember the rest off hand! But he was in IT for a long time and decided to name them all after things in that industry. We had 28 at one time...and a sun named Tiki. Miss them all, and the symphony of all of them singing was wonderfully loud! I cannot wait to go and rescue 10 to 20 when I have the set up for them to fly, play, perch, get some sunshine, and be able to clean up the floor easily!

If you can, check out your local bird sanctuary! :) There are SOOOOOOO many birds there that need a loving home! And parakeets!? Oh my goodness! There are typically large aviaries with so many in there that you wouldn't be able to choose just one! It's wonderful to have this symphony of parakeet sounds in the home. We had 28 at one time. They needed a home with larger cages, and we had it! I miss it so much. I would bring home as many as I could again as soon as I have the right place for them, which is hopefully in 10 years. A room built especially for them with a 3 season porch area that can be closed off during cold times, plenty of toys and perches, and a floor that will be super easy to clean up after them (they pooh every 5 to 10 minutes, so clean up can be a pain, but so necessary). We just came across a purple baby budgie at our local PetCo. I'd love to grab the little guy, too, but he/she is getting picked on in the case. I can't put my Klutz through the loss of another bird again. I hope you were able to get a sweet little bird to keep you company! They are fun to train, too!

This is bringing joy to my feathery babies. I lost a bird and my girls have been real quiet since. They just got a new friend. But he's still adjusting to them and hasn't been very talkative yet. they're all chirping to this video though. Thank you. it's really helping my budgies feel happier right now.

Our male budgie has a girlfriend, she’s a year and a half old kitty! they play tag chasing each other back and forth from room to room and then they spend a lot of time on the window sill watching the sparrows outside in the lilac bush. When the cat is downstairs the budgie (Hermes) will say “where’s Athena”! They are so sweet together. And he loves these videos as well!

I jut purchased 2 parakeets, they were both a little afraid and just sat quietly on the perch . I wondered what they would do if they heard other parakeets, so found this post. the first chirp and both of my new parakeets went right to chirping and eating and relaxed right away.

i also bought 2 budgie/parakeets and they sit quietly on the lowest perch and only 1 parakeet/budgie went on another perch and cane back, after they saw this they started screeching and chirping!
Most budgies are very scared in new environments and hearing other budgies makes them feel safe.

@@progamer-fg1hg They are fine, it can take a couple of days for new budgies to eat you may dont see them eating even that they do eat. Important is that the food is easy to find for them and that you avoid give the a space they can feel safe at meaning a cage above your eye level and ideally close to a wall or even a corner, avoiding loud noises and for the first time leaving them alone until they calmed

Birds are social animals and should not be kept alone, unless you interact with them on a regular basis. They are happier with another budgie.
Absolutely...If you go out and leave them alone for hours each day, they need company and 2 birds are a lot of fun

BETTY MD: The quietness is depression, which is common for a caged bird. Try living in a cage, and see how happy you are.

If your "Sunshine" was in its homeland where it belongs, it would be flying about three miles per day, finding its favorite foods, flying with it's flock and having a family. Birds do not belong in a cage - EVER.

Even though I have 4 budgies and one is named 'Sunshine', I agree with you. They have never had their wings clipped and they have never had a door on their large flight cage. They fly around all over my house to many perches and only go in the cage if they want to. They really love their cage and spend a lot of time in it, even though the food is outside. @@carolwade3094 In the Australian Outback most budgies live less than 4 years and mostly die from exhaustion and dehydration, plus they are constantly hunted by hawks. My 13 year old budgie wouldn't be alive in the wild and hes flying around and chirping like a young bird so maybe have some respect for bird owners.
