- Hi, guys! We are back from our month break and we are going to kick off this review with the new 2023 Kia Seltos. Kia Seltos is the subcompact SUV from Kia that is really loved in many countries for its exterior design and abundant features. And for this new facelift model, Kia has added more features and tech than ever. The 2023 Kia Seltos now comes with remote park assist and even a blind spot monitoring system, which is never seen in the subcompact SUV segment. So, let’s take an in-depth look and drive it and see if this SUV is the right one for you.

Welcome back! I currently have a 2021 Kia celtos SX 1.6 L Turbo and the only complaints I have about it is the small gas tank you spend a lot of time going to the gas pump when your own trips traveling long distances and also the DCT is very jerky at times but I still love my 21 model
Yes, DCT can be jerky. But with new 8 speed automatic it feels much smoother!

@@AsianPetrolhead i had also pointed out two years ago when your reviews were used by Indian automobile reporters & websites. When it comes to Hyundai & Kia, you are my first source of information. I am personally waiting for the Palisade to be launched, the Seltos sells around 8-9 thousand units per month here.
@@TejasShelar2498 i don't think they'll launch the palisade here there's no market for it tuscon is 43 lakhs already that means palisade will be maybe 60 and for that money people prefer brand value
@@superior7387 yes, you are right regarding your observations but we have hardly any options when it comes to a full blown SUV in our market. The Kia Telluride, Palisade heck even the Genesis brand should be an option!

Great job on this Charlie. I think the Sorento is easily the best in its class. Some nice updates here that will help it keep it's place at the top of the class. Only area for improvement is the lack of wireless Carplay/Android Auto on the top spec/largest displays. Not a big deal to me personally, but have seen other reviewers bring it up with all Hyundai/Kia/Genesis products

This is a much better version of Seltos than we get in the US. Unfortunately, her ein the US market, Kia phoned in the order for the '23 and kept it the same as the outgoing '22. I was hoping the '23 would be the same as you're driving, the Korean version looks great, and has a fantastic interior with great tech. To bad the US version isn't near as good as this.
This will be probably sold as 2024 in N. America for you guys.

Very good review; for an updated vehicle, I would've like to see better speaker placement compared to previous model and also rear door twin speakers to bring it line with latest trends.

Hello @Charlie 👋...I just discovered your Great Channel. Do you prefer this Seltos or the Mazda CX-30? A few people advised there is a bit of Visibility issues from the back windows with Mazda CX-30...that worries me.

Great review and awesome to have you back. The Seltos definitely seems much more appealing than ever. But I would have liked to see it be a Hybrid. Most people now are looking for hybrids or Electrics. I don’t think any new model cars should be coming out not being a hybrid.

Did kia resolve the gearbox overheating issues if its going over rough terrain. The previous 7 speed gearbox overheated after only 20 seconds when slippage high as seen on TFL youtube and other motor channels,

Hi, thanks for the video. Here in South Africa we get a bit smaller version aswell, Kia Sonet, do you get it there aswell? We have it mated to a 1.5 Smartstream CVT/IVT, i must say coming from a Tucson 2.0CRDi i do find it very responsive for a naturally aspirated engin, also very fuel efficient in town driving, do you know or have you driven CVT versions of these latest Hyundai/Kia models? I see here you only get the Kona and Creta now mated to this new 8step cvt. Its very good at simulating gear shifts in manual mode, do you know of any reliability issues with this new ivt? Thank you

Did you happen to notice any GDI noise from the Smart Stream 1.6?
I bought a 2022 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid SEL here in the USA back in Late March and notice almost a "knocking sound" coming from the engine.
The dealer said it was normal for GDI to do so, and my research has shown that all of them do it.
But the Seltos you drove isnt a Hybrid.
Thought id ask.

Scared the hell out of me driving a brand new Tucson Hybrid that sounds like that.

It’s only really noticeable at idle. It is quite a loud tick almost knock sound. Just the nature of direct injection. It’s not that bad.

The interior is awesome!. I had Kia Sportage 2010. Back then, it was 6 cylinders with 2.7 L engine, the same engine in my father’s Santa-fe. I have to confess, I was 18 and used to push the gas to the end (180km/h in highways) and enjoyed it. Something I would not do any more, especially now that I’m 32. I had just 2 issue with the car, I didn’t like the firm ride and steering wheel,both were too firm for my taste.
I think Hyundai is better for me, since it is smoother in total.
by the way, I have a question for you guys, how reliable is new Hyundai Elantra? I like the tech and design a lot. But worry about reliability and in particular, interior rattling.
My 2010 experience with Hyundai Santa-fe was, after a couple years, the interior starts rattling. I never owned an other Hyundai cars Since 2012 and I don’t know how they are now. I would be happy to know your thoughts about their new vehicles.

KIA driver aids to me are excellent, looking to lease another Seltos Thanks for the review
it might not have much affect from DCT but more of gear ratio due to 8 speed automatic compared to 7 speed automatic and also how 8 speed is programmed (probably for more fuel economy) which puts higher gears much quicker leading to slow acceleration
