    Pink Panther
    Composed by Henry Mancini
    Arranged and performed by Jacob Koller
    This is one of my favorite cartoon movie classics by Henry Mancini. I started with a funky bass line and then switched to a walking bass line. It goes into a stride piano section before coming back to the main melody. It finishes with a quadruple time ending. I hope you dig it!

      Jazz isn't restricted to sheets like classical music. It's more on improvisation. Some jazz musicians have a chord progression to play with, but everything above that is played on the spot

    • @totophi
      @totophi Před 4 lety +17

      To Timmothy and Brent: it’s not lost on the majority of classically trained pianists that “true” jazz piano music is done by ear and improvised on the fly. However, it is no crime at all for them to want play music written *in the style of jazz*, nor for people like the Mad Arranger to develop and release scores in this manner. So if you’re trying to troll, give it up.

    As a recording engineer, I have 2 questions. What brand and model is this piano? Where are you hiding the microphones?

    • @peter_smyth
      @peter_smyth Před 4 lety +12

      Maybe there's a self-contained digital recorder hidden inside the piano. Or the audio recording was made separately.

    • @jeremycarter
      @jeremycarter Před 4 lety +2

      Could be wireless mics in the piano.

    • @sparkoceanic
      @sparkoceanic Před 4 lety +3

      Could be a mic set just above frame to the right of the picture.
      It's a clever placement if it is, because there's no boom shadow on the ground.

    Being serious, I wish I could play like that... it is enough that somebody CAN.
    And I love that this actually stays very much with the feel of the original.
    Thank you. It is a pleasure to hear and see you play.

    I've no idea why this piece is difficult, but I recognize a boppin', toe-tappin' tune when I hear one!

    • @shayanmoosavi9139
      @shayanmoosavi9139 Před 4 lety +3

      Why so difficult? Mad key signature changes, very complex rhythm and being technical in general.

      @@MagnusMoerkoereJohannesen LOL ok. I thought you were a musician. If I knew I wouldn't confuse you with technical terms😁😁 I'll try to explain them briefly.
      Time signature basically determines how you count the notes and how many notes are in each bar (bar is the smallest section of a song) , if you pay a little attention you'll notice that the song suddenly completely changed its rhythm after almost two minutes. That's a time signature change.

    • @shayanmoosavi9139
      @shayanmoosavi9139 Před 4 lety +2

      @@MagnusMoerkoereJohannesen for example the first time signature change is at 1:17. The basic rhythm suddenly changed.
