Pink Panther
Composed by Henry Mancini
Arranged and performed by Jacob Koller
This is one of my favorite cartoon movie classics by Henry Mancini. I started with a funky bass line and then switched to a walking bass line. It goes into a stride piano section before coming back to the main melody. It finishes with a quadruple time ending. I hope you dig it!
jacob@jacobkoller.com - Hudba
Dude this is sick... The groove at the beginning is WAY cool!!! Totally did not expect that. And the walking bass, ragtime... you pulled out all the stops. Nice arranging work!! 👍
Jonny May thanks so much Jonny!
Jonny May and Jacob koller...two of the best pianists of our day...You two are awesome!!
Jonny May - When your dad tries to be cool.
Just add kyle landry and yoshi
Jonny May hah! Master talks to another master 😊👌🏻 And here is wannabe master Who learning both of your pieces 👌🏻😜
There's so much skill welling up inside him that he needs to release some through his mouth to remain a physical entity.
Isaiah Higgins And his legs at some points
Nappa: *"Vegeta! What does the scouter say about his power level?"*
...
_You know the rest already_
It's a proven fact that if he sits or stands still for more than 30 seconds without playing a piano, the universe would begin to collapse back into itself, essentially reversing back into the singularity before the big bang.
@@thehotdogman9317 actually, his playing creates the electromagnetic field around the earth that protects us all from the majority of solar flares throughout the whole of space time, and without it we would be vaporized instantaneously.
The nerves that move your hands are also connected to your face and mouth. When you're totally lost in the music, you cant help but make those awesome psychopath facial expressions.
Him talking to the keys, “AND THAT TAP IS FOR YOU, AND YOU. Lalalalalalala” and “oohhhh man ur a good key tap tap tap” lol
lmao
That's actually funny:))
I've been classically trained for a little over ten years, and I've been dying to learn some jazz like this
Just never found the right sheet music
Until now
John Tovar awesome! Thanks for watching!
hey...jaz comes not from sheet music...comes from the blues...one four five...and your own exploration...explore you...@@JacobKollerMusic
Jazz isn't restricted to sheets like classical music. It's more on improvisation. Some jazz musicians have a chord progression to play with, but everything above that is played on the spot
To Timmothy and Brent: it’s not lost on the majority of classically trained pianists that “true” jazz piano music is done by ear and improvised on the fly. However, it is no crime at all for them to want play music written *in the style of jazz*, nor for people like the Mad Arranger to develop and release scores in this manner. So if you’re trying to troll, give it up.
try syncopated rythmes to get ready. jazz is a lot more to do with feeling then reading :)
He’s wearing a Bluetooth headset on the left ear. Talking to wife while playing the piano.
Toshiaki Ou how’d you figure it out?
Toshiaki Ou really how
What the ?
@@pixelpixiefox8903 youre dumb
@@adroit57 hey bro chill. The panther is pink for a reason. He's that chill. Leave the vibes at the door
I love being able to play this
on my phone
Alucard Vigilate Dismas thank you for playing it on your phone!
lol
Alucard Vigilate Dismas at least you can play it on your phone I can only play this level of awesomeness in my dreams my phone isn't even worthy to play this
Samsid Etaligiv Dracula
As obious as this comment should be, I did not expect that ^^
They had us in the first half, not gonna lie
Either he's playing so good that he's distorting space-time, or he needs a better camera man.
This comment makes no sense
Brendan Swords no if you pay attention to the camera sometimes it skews and distorts
it's video stabilization
Went a little heavy with the warp stabilizer in post
Maybe some views on the actual keys might make it more impressing
That hand independence is insane!
have you heard any prof. pianist, like, ever?If anything, he's sluggish.Sorry
Somehow Jacob Koller's videos never cease to amaze me. I really love the way he has his own unique style, but sticks to the trad jazz roots at the same time. It sound like something straight from a smoky Manhattan bar in the 50's.
hdpatg thank you so much!
If the real Pink Panther could play a piano...
He would play it like this.
What do you mean, if he was real?
The only thing I can play are youtube videos...
Hey that's a start.
I can play with my girlfriend's feelings too.
Lol
@@debabratasahoo6487 haha, now that was funny
Things i can play:
Videos, monopoly, tetris, the clarinet, pretend, myself.
That moment when song is over and you stil watching in dead screen and asking your self what just happened... WOW... amazing!!! Greetings from Serbia.
Sweet. Thank you so much. Greetings from Japan.
if pink panther was an undertale boss
Maybe for opening and that's it
this is so accurate goddamn
It's more of a cuphead vibe
@@theuswinkelhorst7784 both work.
@@theuswinkelhorst7784 I gotta agree. How badass would it be to hear this and fight PP in Cuphead 😎
Beautiful harmonies.
Beautiful rythyms.
Beautiful grooves.
Beautiful playing.
i love the tone of the piano
I SOOO Love how you 'drag time' on the little downward motif..and then jump back into the swing.....smh....you're downright scary, bro. Congrats!! and kudos!! Like I tell my students when they see someone performing at your level..."Remember the work that went into getting to that point! No one gets it for free!!"...
Even his socks live by their own, separate, rythms
I was excited that I actually might be able to play this, then 1:16 happened. I will learn one of your pieces one day!!!
Marcus Johnson they're not all this hard. Thanks for listening!
His city of stars isn't bad! I learned it pretty easily.
Marcus Johnson I learned his Jingle Bells back in December and I must say it was one of the most fun pieces I’ve ever learned!
So nice to hear you enjoyed playing Jingle Bells. I got a whole book of Christmas arrangements coming this fall.
Bound....I'd say **** happens, but this certainly was not ****. Thumbed up your funny comment. Wierd, it's truncating my first four stars to two, kind of blows the joke. ;-(
Incredible playing and arranging. So many influences...funk...stride..walking bass..and a healthy dose of Keith Emerson to finish with!
It’s so nice to watch/listen to performers who really feel the piece and translate it to their medium!
This is such an amazing arrangement! I LOVE the way you really incorporated the best of the jazz piano styles into this! Well done!
Beautiful arrangement and insanley well executed. Thank you! Ive watched this over 100 times and it always makes me smile.
you can see how much he loves it he can barely stay seated! loved every second of this . BRAVO!!!!
Blows me away every time I watch this.... and I've watched at least 30 times.
I wonder what he's talking bout all the time O.o
he's mouthing the rhythm
This comment made my day.
why do jazz people seem like they are always saying stuff when they play the piano?
^ They mouth the rhythm and the notes they're playing
He’s talking about how to make perfect american pancakes with blueberries
Fantastic! Best version of this I’ve ever heard hands down
Thank you so much!
It's like he's shooting at enemies one by one accurately. So satisfying to watch
I am delighted with your processing of music! thank you
Smooth and awesome, a beautiful reworking and interpretation.
Thank you so much!
Man, that was wicked awesome! I was jiving hard to this! Can't wait to check out more of your jams! Thanks so so much for sharing this with the world!
Absolutely amazing. Excellent performance and great tempo. Thank you.
I had a girlfriend once who was a classical pianist. Her contribution to my life was teaching me the art of the sustain pedal. A good pianist uses it as a crutch. A great pianist uses it for its intended purpose. Bravo!
かっこよくてチャンネル登録しました!!!!これからも頑張ってください!素敵な曲をありがとうございます!

Bought the book... Best buy I have done in many time. Thanks for this jazz pieces. Keep up the work! 🙌🏻🔥
David G. Rueda right on! Thank you so much!
WOW! I'm Blown away! BRAVO!!
The melody that comes in at 2:05 is so good. Such joy.
Any lip readers?
I guess music channels are unlikely to attract deaf people.
He's scatting along.
Phantomsbreath ok so he’s pooping his pants, but what is he saying?
@@senseored Learn to Jazz, then come back and look at my comment again.
@@Phantomsbreath I know what the fuck scatting is you silly person. Now maybe it's time for you to learn how to understand jokes?
He's counting so he can stay in time. It's easier to focus on it when you count it loud, and not only in your head
This is insane :O I've always loved the Pink Panther original theme. That is just...so cool what you did to it.
I have always loved this tune. This arrangement is amazing. Thank you.
Thank you so much!
I just loved this song on the piano very well played congratulations
THIS IS SOOOO GOOOODDD, love your work man! 10/10
Joshua Black thank you so much!

FABULOUS!! Enjoyed this start to finish!

Dude omg!!!! Just as I thought it could not get any better at the end he does the most beautiful gloss ever! Absolutely amazing
Oh, man! What expression! Love it. So much funk. Right hand playing around the beat of the left; I hope my brain & hands can do that someday, haha 😁 Brilliant! Cheers, and ty!!

You deserve a lot more success Jacob. You're a really good jazz player.
Marcello Marianetti thank you! I'll keep working at it and see where it takes me.
Frankly one of the grooviest left hand that I ever heard on a piano!
I'm all about groovy left hands.
This is crazy stuff. Congrats on being so masterful.
Jacob, It was really great! Thanks a lot!
plot twist: the piano sound came from his mouth

Impressive to say the least. Really enjoyed it!
Reginald Workman thank you so much!
Beautiful arrangement, love it!
Little worried about your posture but I guess they do say an artist must suffer for their work! The result is fantastic. Great stuff.
Once more... insanely wonderful!
Wow, such an Explosion of intensity, when the Walking Bass Kicks in👍
すごい!!!良い意味でピアノが玩具に見える。

Sweet. Thanks!
Holy! This is crazy good :) ... that warp stabilizer was throwing me off lol
Geyson Alvarenga thanks man!
When making music I would usually make the accompanying melodies and loop them..
This guy did that with his hands for 3 minutes straight..I thought this was a myth..I guess he is legend..
hahaha really amazing...definitely losing my self confidence
absolute wizardry. fantastic work, as always.

Danbo_de_Piano_Part_Deux thank you so much!
Sounds amazing🎹👍
Outstanding Arrangement and Performance. Thanks. Out.
As a recording engineer, I have 2 questions. What brand and model is this piano? Where are you hiding the microphones?
Maybe there's a self-contained digital recorder hidden inside the piano. Or the audio recording was made separately.
Could be wireless mics in the piano.
Could be a mic set just above frame to the right of the picture.
It's a clever placement if it is, because there's no boom shadow on the ground.
I contracted back pain watching this man's neck. The music helped soothe the pain though.
FirstNameChangeThisMonth _ don’t worry. Only when I perform do I comfort myself. But I stay loose and stretch so I never have any pain.
Absolutely perfectly wonderful!!!
Flipping great
Hello!! First time to leave a comment. Since this January I had became your big fan! Always you play amazing piano with super nice arrange. I'm looking forward to listen new uploads. I don't play piano but when I'm watching your play i would love to play! Thank you very much for every time entertain me!
奈穂恵 河上 thanks so much for the comment and for following me!
That was amazing! (But the cyc needs another coat.)
Being serious, I wish I could play like that... it is enough that somebody CAN.
And I love that this actually stays very much with the feel of the original.
Thank you. It is a pleasure to hear and see you play.
jesus this was so clean!!!! well played sir
It's such a fantastic!!!!♥
Teacher: Did you practice Chopsticks?
Me:
I've no idea why this piece is difficult, but I recognize a boppin', toe-tappin' tune when I hear one!
Why so difficult? Mad key signature changes, very complex rhythm and being technical in general.
@@shayanmoosavi9139 As a non-musician, I'll have to take your word for it 😁
@@MagnusMoerkoereJohannesen LOL ok. I thought you were a musician. If I knew I wouldn't confuse you with technical terms😁😁 I'll try to explain them briefly.
Time signature basically determines how you count the notes and how many notes are in each bar (bar is the smallest section of a song) , if you pay a little attention you'll notice that the song suddenly completely changed its rhythm after almost two minutes. That's a time signature change.
@@MagnusMoerkoereJohannesen for example the first time signature change is at 1:17. The basic rhythm suddenly changed.
one of my all time favourite jazz piano solos
Love high light and dynamic his playing is.
