NBC was founded in 1926 as a radio broadcasting station before television.
That triple slap at 2:37!!! 😂😂😂
They were originally dinner chimes. Servants played these when dinner was ready in rich folks homes.
Now That makes much more sense.
This is NBC
They were doing that all the way back to the Healy days. Healy hits each Stooge in turn, and the NBC chimes ring with each hit.
Supposedly, for a long time, the NBC chimes were the only copyrighted sound effect other than the creeping door of the Inner Sanctum.
Bulova watch time, was also a thing to advertise the watch
@@kathleenking47 Yeah, but I don't think they copyrighted the sound effect. They did trademark "Bulova Watch Time," which I think Bulova still uses today. But not the same thing.
@@kali3665oh it's bulova. I thought it was bologna.
By UMG.
The following program is brought to you in living color on NBC
'Course in the Stooges' day it was brought to you in living radio.
Wow!. I've watched them for over 50 years and never noticed that
That's one of my FAVORITE running gags!!!
I never understood it 😁since they worked for COLUMBIA...CBS👁
Not NBC🦚
N-B-C
Do this running gag compilation if you can: Someone knocks on something and Curly says "Come in"
2:52 killed me a lot
The chimes was GE and C.
Oh top of the morning.
And top of the morning to you! *SMACK WITH FISH*
He didn’t hit him with a fish. It was a club.
Amazing! An inside joke within the gag!
I'm afraid you forget when they were pest control with a bag of cats, and the lady hit them over the head at the end.
Love this compilation. You forgot the short titled Creeps where Moe, Shemp, and Larry hit their babies (played by themselves) over the heads and the chime plays. Other than that, love your Stooges compilation.
As Seen on Redford Theatre's 3 Stooges Festival
The first bowling ball made him drop his weapon the second one made him dizzy and the final one knocked him out cold into the afterlife
One you forgot is when Moe is on a radio or something and uses a hammer to knock on 3 skulls and we hear the chimes
You also forgot Creeps.
1:53 Moe’s pain sounds owwww oooo😝😂🤣😆is side splitting !
Now that you mention it, Moe really had a talent for that!
@@porflepopnecker4376 yep 👍 I was gonna mention that as you have put these together it really shows. IE: the gum scenes in Love at First Bite are perhaps his finest moment in that regard.

The Music Chimes were in these chords G-E-C the same as the company that later bought NBC The General Electric Company.
Interesting!
Rick nineg says that
Wow..
It used to be longer, ive heard
But that makes sense
G eneral E electri C
Nice one
Did they ever make a 3-stooges pinball machine? I might have to do that for the retro gamers. Load the 3 balls up they drop on the head, makes that sound gives an insane score
Can I borrow your keys? Lol!

0:42-0:44

1:46-1:49
2:23-2:25
2:52-2:56
is my favorite part of the video
0:20 sounds like sega
This is WGRZ Channel 2 Buffalo.
NBC chimes started in 1926
And they were actual chimes -- a mini-xylophone -- that you received via mail when your station joined the network. I had a great uncle who was in early radio and lived that. (And played the chimes on-air.)
Now that’s funny! 😂
KNBC Los Angeles,WNBC New York City,WMAQ Chicago,etc.
Columbia (better yet the Stooges) should have gotten a commision for the NBC plug!
These days they'd be sued.
I like the last one and the first one
The NBC peacock wants equal time.
Radio: "This is NBC Television Network"
The chimes were way before television.
@@speakeasyarchives8764 Exactly. As was NBC.
2:52 Triple balls 😂😂😂😂
Thanks for finally fixing up my request...
Thanks for the idea!
One more little thing: *cue Laramie Peacock theme* the following Three Stooges film is brought to you in lively black and white on NBC!

I Love This😄
I wonder if they were with NBC
My favorites are with the anchor balls.
Horseshoes.
Imagine how many NBC affiliates picked up the three stooges shorts
NBC Network
to think that this is the only video with the WWII four bell NBC Chime. The GECC Chime. Unless of course I am mistaken.
The GECC Chime Was Recorded on 1957 (on the last clip)
There is an extant recording of NBC’s D-Day coverage that demonstrates the 4th chime
That was wonderful.

What'd that horse do to get hard time?
You forgot "Pest Man Wins".
It sounds like a doorbell
Any Navy officer knows those are dinner chimes.
Omg yas
2:26 I saw the wires.
NBC
😄😄😄😄😄😅😅😅😅😅😂😂😂😂😂
Where's the peacock?
It's a long story.
@@DilanCommunications Not that long. The peacock was adopted to flack NBC's new colour broadcasts. These shorts were taken from radio-era Stooges serials. NBC's radio transmissions were in black and white.
Pest man wins with the bat
Was that copyright infringement
No copyright infringement was intended
And anyway, it's trademark infringement. You can't copyright 3 notes.
