  • You've been asking for it, so the next episode so it's finally here. It's time to unwrap the car finally and break out my buckets and Kranzle and give it it's first wash. Man was this an amazing opportunity and possibly one of my favorite experiences to date.

    I thought I was going to regret unwrapping mine before it got to the shop for ceramic but it ended up being the best memory of my life. All by myself in the garage unwrapping my dream. I'll never forget it.

      Rev Media lol don't think you understand how long some of these car sit outside in storage. Sap, bird shit, snow clearing off the standing car, water spots from rain etc. It's up to the dealer to "detail" the purchased car... Mat has done exactly what I would of liked to do.

    Doesn't have to be a $130k car. I asked the same thing of the dealer for my 50k WRX. He thought I was nuts but agreed. It was like unwrapping a gift. Drove it straight to my detailer for paint correction, ceramic coating and ppf. 4 years later the car still looks brand new.

    If you have the ability to do something like this with a car.... I highly recommend it. I was able to do this with a 2012 Camaro ZL-1. And it was the most satisfying experience being able to remove the protective vinyl wrap, the plastic over the wheels, seats, floor, dash and wash it and protect it for the first time. Its so choice. And then I realized how i don't like the gauge cluster as if it was something from the 90s. Once I see what Chevy does with Camaro this next year i'm definitely trading up

    I truly think that everyone should demand their car dealers to deliver a new car with all wrappings. A big problem too is the "care" given by some dealers after unwrapping cars. Well done for the video provided

    I was lucky. My BMW was delivered perfect back in 2014. Best new car experience over 3 decades. Car is still close to perfect. There are 2 little spots in the PPF. 🙂

    Makes total sense to wash the car...best way to inspect for defects! I recently picked up my first 911 (997.2) about 12 weeks ago. I washed the car and changed the oil (cut filter/inspected) before I even bought it!

    I recently picked up my new GTI, I also requested them to leave the wrappings on. While it’s no Porsche it really is a great process doing the inspection yourself and peeling off the stickers for the first time is a really special experience. Enjoy the GT4 it’s beautiful!

    I would do as you did and I am 65 and disabled, I wish I filmed my Quicken Puma 40 Pro S-Line Gyro RWD power chair. I spent longer than you sir a year ago when it arrived to me new in the United Kingdom from Sunrise Medical in the Netherlands. It’s just me like it is you I thought at the time no one would ever believe I would treat and inanimate object like a new born life in my hands. I really do understand how much satisfaction you got doing this vlog.

    You are certainly a lucky man and I am jealous. I placed an order for a Cayman T in late January, the car was built by early July and was delayed for pandemic reasons. As far as I know through tracking the cargo ship (thank you sales manager for that information) it is resting in Baltimore. Hopefully by the end of this month I am told. I love the color, it is similar to the Lapis Blue of my former Boxster. Anything from blue to purple to black.

But when I bought my Toyota Tundra I was literally waiting for the truck and I requested to take all the interior and exterior covering off that was about 5 years ago.     I agree that "99% of the population wouldn't want to do this". Having said that I can also promise that 99% of Porsche dealers will let anyone peel of white sticky tape in order to sell a car. I can tell you that my dealer was more than accomadating when purchasing my 992. Fortunately, my paint was near blemish free and required only minimal correction. Unlike a Ford dealer that wreaked havoc on a GT350.

    Please, there is nothing wrong with wanting to unwrap YOUR car yourself. It is a special moment and it is totally normal to want to do it.
    If you pay the money and you want to do that, you should. If the dealer disagrees, walk away.
