14:14 Triple gauges mimicking old OP and temp gauges to now indicate batt SOC and volts. One of my favorite parts of your build. We underestimate what the old analog gauges did for us. It became a memory thing so you knew where that needle was supposed to be, and if it wasn't, it drew your attention, and you would know something was off. They trained your brain. Absolutely brilliant, not too hard to incorporate, one of those simple but understated genius moments. Great add on for a modern EV frankly!! As a former auto mechanic and now a web dev, I LOVE what you guys are doing! Will be watching you closely! Liked/Subbed, keep 'em coming guys!

That was one of my best friend’s first cars in high school, too. An 85 SE 2M6 the same color red with a 4-speed.
I drove the car many times, it was such a visceral car. The unique sounds of the plastic doors and hatches closing, the unique exhaust sound, the feel sitting in the seat and the tall, longesh-throw, notchy 4-speed shifter.
I’m with you, i am so impressed that they incorporated the original looks and feel of the original Fiero into this, especially the gauges and keeping the exhaust tips.
Electric or not. This is one beautiful Fiero in its own right but when you think about how different it is while looking so stock, it’s just amazing.
My only somewhat of a concern is that they did this to what was such an extremely well preserved, low-mileage 5-speed GT car but it is so awesome, I guess I can give them a pass on that.

I’m not going for 100% stock appearance like you, so have reduction options that you don’t. Still sorting out the powertrain direction, but would love to know the weight gain you have alluded to. I’m planning one myself, but you would be wrong about folks being upset. The Fiero community as a whole doesn’t like them. They prefer the super charge six conversion, or the LS conversions, some of which have 800+ HP. I’m doing an EV swap just to say I did. I’m not a huge EV fan, but I can’t complain about something I know little of, the only problem is the cost, they are a lot of money for all the issues they present. As a diy guy I’m speaking.

Always wanted an 88 GT (best year due to the redesigned suspension) and engine swap it with an LT swap, or even an L67 SII. But this, this EV swap, is *sick!*

An EV should look like this. And it would sell fast.

I love it! And actually a lot less likely to catch fire than the ICE Fiero! That is the better body style too!

I'd be more interested in a fiero with a GT2rs engine or a McLaren 765lt engine.

Did anyone hear what the effective operating range of it is? Because I sure didn't... and if it's not terribly "acceptably" big--as high or higher than the car it's components were sourced from--then what's the point other than just essentially making an inner-city car with "Look... we made it electric!" bragging rights?😕

Where are all parts that came off? I still prefer gasoline

Cool project, but violating a practically new 14K miles 88 GT is a travesty. You shouldn't have sacrificed a mint, collectible and rare survivor like this.

Being a fiero owner of several cars.. I was happy till I saw the Tesla symbol on the fiero... 😢.. hate it.. its garbage to me..

Cool, now it's just as bland as a new EV

    • @jimcabezola3051

It was bland when it was new. Chevy Chevette suspension and all that stuff...it was designed as a economical, 4-cylinder, two-seat commuter car. It wasn't much of a sports car back i the '80s.
I would imagine that a new EV would have more accelerative capability that this, but this EV conversion can likely out-accelerate one of those Fieros with the Cadillac V8 swaps (those are cool).
Least a car company couldn't spy on it, and it won't have access to the driver's phone through the car's infotainment system.
