I feel like Rasputin arrived at the wedding in his old outfit, saw the scene and found no-one there.
Once he understood what happened, he purposefully went to get a makeover as he's heartbroken and then goes back to the venue to perform 'I Am My Own Muse'.
Something about the idea of Rasputin running around finding somewhere to get the makeover just for this song is funny to me.

To complement this lore week video, I heard a theory a while ago that the reason why Rasputin got late to the wedding was because he was abducted by Night Swan and transformed into one of her minions, according to the game the songs were release and with the fact that the Last Friday Night map is a non-stop party that connects every danceverse and you can come and go, since during the map Rasputin and Bride have different interactions throughout the song in which they enter and leave the scene. And right after the first battle between the Just Dancers and Night Swan, he found a way out of Night Swan’s headquarters.
After this video, I don’t know if that could work, but I hope we get some answers in 2025.
That seems like it could be a reason, it would make sense because the lore guardian said Rasputin was late due to “unexpected events”.
personally i explain rasputin's outfit change with my theories about flow. i think when coaches costume change/change forms in maps, it's due to the coach (often unconsciously) tapping into the dance energy around them. we see rasputin arriving at the venue in his normal outfit in sbp, then i think he had a breakdown when he saw what happened, and his emotions tappeded into the dance energy of the area, transforming his clothes into what we see in i am my own muse (and i argue that this energy is what caused the change in his pictures as well)

Fun fact: The background for Hot N Cold is available as Lvl 1 reward on Season 2: Y2K, and the description is ‘For shattered hearts’, which is a perfect proof for The Bride’s 2 break-up
I think the unexpected event in the story is the Night Swan attack in Just Dance 2023 Edition, maybe he got captured on the way to the wedding and got saved in Majesty, since SbP and Majesty happens at a sunset background so they probably happen at the same time.
That would also mean that Liza Friday (One of her best friends) also couldn't be there at the wedding. (Too busy serving NS) Imagine how much worse that must have been for her without someone to comfort her through another 'rejection'.

Also i think Rasputin had the makeover after he got to the wedding venue in Sweet But Psycho, as seen in that map's ending with his old look, that couldn't be why he was late... damn you Just Dance traffic
Avery, girl... I hate to break it to you, but the way I see it, I don't think there's a happy ending in the horizon for these two. It seems to me that the Bride is way too far past the point of no return to consider forgiving Rasputin for missing the wedding, and one of the most notorious things about the historical Grigori Rasputin is the over-the-top way he died... I believe this story will end with either the Bride killing Rasputin or both of them dying together while the wedding venue goes up in flames around them.
Also, on your desire for a lore/backstory season, after seeing the trailer for the Y2K season and one of the emotes that will be available as a reward, I think that may be coming sooner than expected... 😉

Here's my idea/timeline:
It starts with Hot and Cold then Rasputin and after is the dance with the body moving coach. After is Last Friday Night and then Sugar. Then its Telephone and he arrives at then wedding venue after Sweet But Psycho and then his song. Finally(and this is a long shot) Ymca as he appears in a disguise looking thing so he may be hiding as people were searching about him after the wedding drama so they might have found out him breaking out the coaches in Telephone.

I'm not a fan of JD or dancing in general, but I'm a huge FOB fan so the I Am My Own Muse dance appeared on my feedback, and when I checked the comment section I fell in this rabbit hole of Just Dance lore (WHY JUST DANCE EVEN HAVE A LORE?). The funny part of all of this is that the single song I played in Just Dance was several years ago with some friends was, in fact, Rasputin by Boney M.

4:40 if you look at Rasputin‘s outfit, it looks very similar in style to the Lady Gaga coaches outfits, so what if while he was helping the coaches break out of prison they gave him a makeover so he could blend in unless this is sometime after the wedding
I thought about this way too long (like over a month) but if The Bride and Rasputin were going to get back together, my thought is that it would be towards Lover by Taylor Swift. My reasoning for this is because the bridge, in a way, sounds like a wedding vow. So, maybe Rasputin spends the first part of the song trying to get The Bride back, in second part The Bridge could accept his apology (or something like that), and in the bridge/final chorus they get married. It would also be hilarious if it was How You Get The Girl instead of Lover.
Since Aurore said the map was his reaction and feelings, what if this new makeover was all in his head?
The Bride, Rasputin all showed us how they felt and not necessarily how they look irl. Hell maybe the venue isn't destroyed by The Bride at all, and all the fixing Rasputin was trying to do was them mending their own relationship backstage or sth.
This theory will save them from having to explain how both of them got makeovers, and if they do decide to wed, there's no need to ask other Just Dancers to help build the venue again lmaooo

Body movin' and Louise Dials are possibly the same coach because the gloves, the outfit, and the hair. Bride probably thought that Rasputin left their wedding because she thpught that Rasputin and Louise are having a secret relationship when in reality, Rasputin saved her and other coaches against night swan.

I have this dream that the main story line is sort of like the end game battle where a bunch of coaches go with Jack to get the group back and since we know the maps aren't released chronologically maybe rasputin was part of that which is why he missed the wedding. Its long shot but I really think a massive dance battle would be cool even if its unrealistic in every way lol
I don't think the make over is any problem, as we know, Danceverse people have powers through The Flow just like the people in Star Wars through The Force, like Wanderlust's portals, and we see in almost every map how they change clothes or the entire background in seconds. From the beginning this was just a cinematic effect but now it can be surely explained with that, they have powers humans don't have. The theory with the Lady Gaga coaches really makes sense! I hope they do that, that would be such a cool plot twist and story. They have many oppurtinities to create cool stories, like Wanderrose, Mihaly and Panda relationship, Jacks father.. But as I met the Just Dance team, they probably won't do it which is sad lol
But the lore is phenomenal nonetheless, it's AWESOME how good and well explained it is and how real the world feels. It's dancing after all, dancing is love and emotions

Rasputin didn't show up with a makeover! i think after he was late, Bride probably stopped contacting him, which made him sad and he kept going to the wedding spot? (since it looks like time has passed, the building isnt even a building anymore) and throughout that time he and his style changed

I don’t think he had JUST arrived to the wedding venue in I am my own Muse. Bc at the end of Sweet But Psycho, he’s in his normal outfit. I think in I Am My Own Muse, time has passed and Rasputin is mourning his lost bride, hence why his look is different. So he wasn’t late to the wedding because he was getting a makeover.
I always had a theory about those two @littlesiha : The Bride had a high school sweetheart whom she intended to marry. "2 B Loved (Am I Ready)" by Lizzo would be an amazing song to see her get ready for the ceremony and they could finally give her a proper name, Melanie (From "He call me Melly, he squeeze my belly" in the lyrics). But then, on his way to the venue, her fiance was involved in a car crash, and Melly/The Bride tries to come to terms with it in "The One That Got Away" by Katy Perry. Ultimately, she fails to mend her broken heart and can never get over her true love, deciding to keep wearing her gown for the rest of her life. Then, she finally meets Rasputin at Liza's party and is able to fall in love again 👀
