I'd try using your salt mixture on the Mt Dew Shrimp.. get them the color, then dry them out well with the salt mixture.. you may be on to a new product line. ;)
thats actually a great idea!
My thoughts exactly
I came here to say the same thing. Get the nice color from the dew, then dry it out and toughen it up with the salt
Hey Skipper, I see others beat me to the point...try salting the Mt Dew shrimp. Also, you added food coloring to the Mt Dew mixture, is that necessary?
Right….Salt pulls moisture out “food”
Shrimp soaked in cherry red Kool Aid works really well. The bright color of the red and the sweetness of the smell can attract a lot of fish.

The co-k rod connector is pretty hilarious 17:32
Lol thats how I put my shrimp on the hook too. do the loopty loop 🤣 great video yall
I really appreciate your videos skipper you have taught me a lot thank you 🙏🏾
You sending that blue fish off on the drone is one twisted fish destiny bro!! Haha
Thanks for all the tips.
Just a suggestion, mountain dew yes, plus after the dew salt formula to toughen it and preserve it.
Love your videos...keep em coming! 👏👏👏
Love this, I plan on doing some surf fishing in the upcoming weeks. Now I'm even more excited to do so.
Those blues are good to eat too! Caught a couple of them surf fishing at Emerald Isle a few years ago and they were delicious!
Great day beach fishing!
Try using elasticated bait twine for softer baits like the Mt Dew shrimp. It will last much longer on the hook.
Magic thread is …… magic.
8:39 With a spinning reel, always pump back and reel in coming forward with less line tension. They aren't made to built to winch in a fish like a bait caster. And you won't put jam your line on the spinning spool and screw up your next cast.
Another great episode thanks for sharing your adventures
Another great video ❤️🎣
more catch and cooks please
Marinate shrimp in rootbeer, butterfly them, and fry them up. DELICIOUS.
Excellent bro
Thanks! Are you entertained?
@@HeySkipper yes

This was fun to watch my son loves to fish
it stops fish from bleeding also.. pro's use it to save bass in tournaments... that's what I'm told..I need that sonar for my float tube!!
Awesome video, I will try that.. Thanks very useful.. 👍
that deeper sonar is sweet, gotta save up for a new one. a pike absolutely smashed mine.
those dew shrimp reminds me of a trick my grandpa taught me, wed soak shrimp in blaccurrant syrup overnight then put them in salt for another night. it would work great with salmon, turned the bait deep red. worth trying.
tight lines from Norway
Green 🍏 does work from what I witnessed last time I fished! 🎣
It works for sure! So funny to try it tho
Great video!

Loved it!
Thanks!
Nice video. I enjoy watching from Philippines. Thnks and God bless🙏
You can get dye for bait. I use pink dye on squid, works great
Love the videos
love watching your videos
Glad you like them! We work really hard to get them to you every Thursday!
Awesome video as always. Thanks for sharing. I’m curious if that would work the same just with the green dye and no Mountain Dew? Certainly different colours of baits will attract fish on different days/conditions.
wizards bait cure.. makes everything work
More catch and cooks please Mr Brendan😂
Fish on from Philippines..Thanks for the tip..🎉
I like your new method
I dont take shell off of shrimp and i leave out in sun for a day usually do pretty good but ima try mountain dew and see if it gets better
That Mountain Dew shrimp looks like a green worm.. I think i will try it here in the Philippines!!
I love yall! ❤️
I used Tabasco Sauce and diet Pepsi (separately in 2 containers) mixed in unpeeled shrimps, and catch Calico, Sand bass and even California Sheep Head using 3/0-4/0 hooks during the warm summer in San Diego, CA.
2:20 "It's the BEST of both worlds!" 😋
"Its so green, it looks like Shrek!"
"The best of both worlds"
🤣🤣🤣
"Shrek is everything, Shrek is love"
HAHAHAHAHA I'm dead 🤣🤣🤣🤣☠️☠️⚰️⚰️

Skipper. Gogogo. Fish on !!!! 🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣
Watching here in: Philippines ♥️
🐟🎣🐟🎣🐟🎣
We soak our shrimp in packets of red single serve Kool-aid. The Catfish here love it.
Very cool 😎👍
Cuter greenish color..nice vid tv godbless
As always, another entertaining and interesting video. I couldn't help but to think that the green shrimper fooling them vegan fish and they've never had seaweed. So delicious
Another awesome video. I was surprised to see that shrimp work so well. I would've tied it on because it's so soft.
It worked surprisingly well! I was amazed
I also watch all your videos and have learned a lot. I wish I knew when you were in Jacksonville Florida. I love close to the fishing spots you went to. Maybe next time 🙂
Love seeing Amelia Beach on here! Great content yall!
Love that beach:)
Learn something new thank you
you can try freezing the shrek shrimp and fishing with it thawed to extend its lifespan on the hook
I agree add salt first or at same time. I don't dry salt mine . I buy fresh bring home salt in a bowl so I mix well. Then in the freezer until I'm ready to fish. I can use it a good 3 or 4 times (refreezing) and it works amazing. Everybody always asked what I do to my shrimp
Love you guy’s vids!!! Will there be any deep sea fishing videos in the near future?
Ayeee it’s Bill Nye The Fisher Guy 😁
Eyyyy🥼👨🔬
We are freezing and you are fishing. No fair😢 thanks for the video, Mike from Illinois.
Ok, I am sold, I will try the dew, better than hot sauce one.
We like to add a bell just above the reel seat , where we can reach one in the pole holders..
A tube on the back of the rod..a bell with a stainless steel rod fits in the tube..perfer a big bells
A great video!
Thanks Tracy! Appreciate you showing up every week!
If you use a white bucket for shrimp they will mimic colors pretty much will stay clear and transparent what if you put them in a black bucket they will turn a dark reddish color to blend in with their surroundings
Love me some "fresh Mountain Dew" yum
Hello, I am watching you from France and every Friday we are waiting for your video. We wonder every time what it will be.
And this Friday, January 27, 2023 superb video with very beautiful music.
I hope for more like this on surffishing from the beach or the rocks. And I also hope to know how to salt for bait in video maybe.
Have a nice weekend to you and your family.🙋♂️🙃👍
100% not surprised the pop softened the shrimp. It's acidic 😆
I need that Deeper💙💚💙💚
My rod broke so Im broken inside, not fishing for a while now unfortunately until whenever I get enough cash to fix it. Would Love to see more catch and cooks, especially a playlist for the catch and cooks PLEAAAASE
I'm from South Africa I really enioy Ur videos I've learnt Alot from u. Thanku
Hey, appreciate the love and support!! Just to let you know I've got some killer fishing gear over at www.heyskipperfishing.com.
Check it out-I think it'll help your fishing game big time.
Great experiment, would suggest using a thin bait cotton, doe's help. We use it a lot...Keep up what your doing cheers.
Great suggestion!
Hey Skipper !
Anybody else see the light flash at 16:53? Between the rods?
Sun glinting off the line
Maybe Beach catch and cooks?
Aloha , Skipper !
BTW I love mountain dew, never thought Id see someone giving it to dead shrimp, this must be the future😭😂🤣
I think the citric acid in the Mountain Dew breaks down the tissue of the shrimp instead of toughening. You might try coating them in untinted egg cure and letting cure for a couple of days in the fridge to see if that toughens them up. You could also try salt but I think that might react with the MD and make them unpalatable to the fish.
Egg cure?? What’s that? Interesting idea. Please elaborate
Green may be the thing.
@@HeySkipper Pro-Cure makes a product to color or scenting salmon eggs. But people have using it for curing shrimp and chicken livers. Makes the bait very durable. I use this process for catfish baits. Bait never falls off.
yemleri şeker ve sitrik asitte bekleterek sertleştirebilirsiniz
@@HeySkipper Egg cure is a powder made up of borax and a few other ingredients that is used to prepare salmon egg skeins. It causes the fluid in he skein to turn to gel and toughens the eggs. Simply pat dry the shrimp then spread them out on a tray, liberally coat them with the egg cure, cover with plastic wrap and put in fridge for a few days then check them for toughness. If not tough enough and the cure has been absorbed sprinkle more cure on them and put back in the fridge for a few more days and so on. BTW I have had absolutely no experience doing this but knowing what the cure does to salmon eggs leads me to believe it should work.
Have you ever tried shark before ? It tastes really good. Give it a try sometime.
Cheers mate 👍
I use lime green jello mix for color.
Happy Thursday bud
Thank you, same to you:)
530 pm Friday 2/17
I’ve seen you do the Diet Pepsi shrimp, I’m definitely going to try this. Might try to salt it to toughen it up. Good luck
2:50 omg not the shrek is love 😂
That Deeper fish finder is all I can dream about right now 😊 I've been experimenting with various colors of food dye and herbal spices for brining and curing baits. It's definitely a great way to have fun fishing, but also needs some patience 😀 Last week I cured some salmon eggs with Saffron, Salt, and red hot Chilli, can't wait to try it this weekend for Steelhead fishing 😂
merhaba balık cezbedici işi zordur bölgeye ve balık türüne göre değişiklikler gösterir
