One of those rare songs that makes you feel nostalgic for something you can't even recall.
phillydave it's primordial essence
Past lives man
why is this so accurate?😭😭
Anonymous it’s our path back to our forever hOMe and timeless eternal forms(think cuddle puddle of purring kittens, where ALL is ONLY made of LOVE)
(vs painfilled corruptable time/matter/space as in here&now), and the kid the wholest making spirit, serving the great/er/est GOoD in ALL ways that works for ALL for ALL time in a way that NO one (serving the great/er/est GOoD be it light/arc/dark) loses (and NO ThIng else matters...and soon (in universe time) won’t even be matter, thus the end when they are transformed back into rain to rejoin the sea of Unity, across several additional level in the Game of GOoD life, based on how disconnected from ALL we are (inside, outside (others as self))
See the other Trilogy of M83 to help understand the other parts of our human story (in corrupted/able forms, body & 1st level of the bottomless pit, world designed by #TeamDark path NEXT/DOWN), path out/UP by #TeamLight & #TeamArc/wHol(e/y) Making spirit. TeamCaptains Satan, Jesus, Me respectively, ALL the TRUly (vs trueLIE) HAS CHOSEN (born again/unborn) selflessly (as possible) serving the great/er/est possible GOoD in ALL ways for ALL time, till ALL as one ARE One for ALL, and ALL for One (great/er/est GOoD).
For another song that has the same effect on me (and others) try "don't delete the kisses" from Alice Wolff, good quality too ;)
Space.
Dreams.
Nostalgia.
Those three things are what I feel when I listen to M83's music. If I just close my eyes I can imagine beautiful dream-like things that aren't possible otherwise. I feel nostalgic and happy, memories come to me that I've never had. When looking at the reality of life, I feel stress, anger, sadness, and hate. Why is life the way it is? I don't know, but this music helps me escape the harshness of life.
I couldn't describe it better, these 3 things are exactly what m83 make me feel, especially this album. I can't unsee/unfeel it, i always subconsciously feel nostalgic for the times that i maybe haven't even experienced. I always imagine and _feel_ space and dreams in the wildest imaginations. It's unbelievable
because LIFE is not an intellectual game in the laboratory that begins with your curiosity...
THIS SONG MAKES ME FEEL LIKE IM FLYINNGGGGG!!
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
hahahah i have that same feeling too! sky diving
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🌪🌪🌪
Yesssssss!!!!!!
Being an 80s child, this album is everything. He captured and remixed my entire audible memory bank Incredible magic
Everything M83 does is so right on so many levels
Agreed! I gave you a like! :)
My favorite song from my favorite band. Nothing else can compare.
I think M83 is just one person, but he uses other people to play live concerts with him.
epicsauceness100 agreed.
m83 - m8- 3 - half life 3 :v
the best music ever made, it makes me feel like nothing could stop me
this song is my spirit animal
Steve McQueen = cat with facial hair
Moonchild is mine
Desirable
When hundreds of years will have passed, M83 will be always be remembered as the one of the greatest music producers of our time.
+Mitchell Chapman I hope so!
+Mitchell Chapman
I really don't think so ....
+Mitchell Chapman V True.
+Mitchell Chapman Agreed
They should be, but won’t be. They’re so under appreciated
Why did this song never become a big hit?? Its a amazing song!!
Ikr
Some things remain precious
11M views is a pretty big hit. M83 is by no means an obscure band.
Just for masterminds
I have grown up with this album by my side over the last 11 years. These songs (especially Steve McQueen) made my young teenage soul optimistic about the world and future. It becomes harder to maintain that feeling in today’s world as an adult but everytime I listen to Hurry Up We’re Dreaming I am transported back to that same bright eyes optimistic teenager. Music like this can really change your life and how you view the world, thank you M83 for these tunes.
Wholeheartedly agree ❤💫
"Hurry up, We're Dreaming" and "Dead Cities, Red Seas, and Lost Ghosts" will forever be listened to by me. The other-worldy and original sound Anthony Gonzalez makes is pure genius. M83, in my opinion, is one of the most underrated bands in the past decade. I am extremely lucky to of been able to buy one of the rare Vinyl copies of "Dead Cities, Red Seas, and Lost Ghosts." I am going to keep this sealed tight forever!
+Raquel Perez I truthfully can't say I am a fan of Junk. I feel as if they tried changing their sound, and it doesn't feel like M83 to me. The sound itself just isn't original and comes off more like they aimed for the drug/psychedelic party vibe. (basically trying to appeal to the mainstream)
Junk just doesn't have that intense emotional feel to it, and unfortunately comes off very bland and overused. Like I said though, it's hard for them to try making new music that can top their past masterpiece of albums. I guess Junk overall is alright, but not something I prefer.
+Patrick N "Walkway Blues" is my fav though if I had to pick.
Junk isn’t bad, it’s just WAYYYYYY different than the other music
@@PattyNadros I agree. M83 is a synth band to me, but I’ve labeled Junk “post-synth”. It feels tacky and completely inauthentic. Some good songs exist, such as Do It, Try it, but even that doesn’t come close to the more underrated songs on HUWD like Ok Pal or even Kim and Jessie from Saturdays=Youth. I hope we get a more back to basics style in the next album.
Hurry Up Best álbum 🌌❤️
I am watching this in 2016 and I just cannot understand how this song never made it big. AT ALL. This is pure musical genius. The video itself only has 5 million views. Our generation just has the worst taste in music.
its truly depressing.
7 million
agree
He's with an independent record label which means they don't have a big budget like the major record labels. On the plus side, an indie record label cares more for the music than the image of the artist.
IMHO I think his music wouldn't be as good if he had signed with a major label. Look at a lot of the artist that make it big... I don't want to talk negative about artists here but I'm sure you know of a few underground artists that as soon as they got signed, their music went to sh*t.
This is because these major record labels have complete control over the artist; this includes the artist, the music, the image, the tour dates, etc. As an artist, you have to do whatever the record label tells you to.
They are willing to invest a lot of money in you as an artist if they think you're worthy but in return, you pretty much sell yourself to them for whatever the contract may be.
Ever heard of the term "sell out"? You're selling yourself to the companies. Many people say they sell their souls, but that's a whole other topic.
This is the main reason some of the best music never gets played on the radio.
BTW: His latest album is gold!
The amount of people seen something doesn't mean that everyone else who hasn't seen this would not like this song it's because shitty songs usually are marketed so they will get as many views as possible.
In love with how happy this song makes me feel....
music is a beautiful thing
Sarah Anne Very interesting indeed, it does the complete opposite to me.
@@lightmetamorphosis How could a song like this make you feel sad?
@@lanewebb1328 nostalgia of youth
this is the type of music i listen to on those summer nights when its late and dark outside and I'm driving along the beach with the windows down and the wind on my face and blowing my hair
Erin Carroll 👌👍🏼 I have done the same or listening to Dexter Britain 🎶. in California 🌅
Love to drive with you with a jam like this :)
I live in England so if I tried to do that I get a whole ocean thrown at my face 😂
My dream is do like you but in Mexico City is almost imposible.
YES LITERALLY MY FAVORITE
M83 IS LIFE
The dynamics of this song make Steve McQueen their best song imo. There's a lot more to this song than midnight city which is still an amazing song as well. Either way, it seems like no matter what M83 puts out, it's gonna take us back to the place it(synths) all began to take root in music - the 80's.
People say that bringing the 80s style sound back shouldn't happen but I think otherwise.
I love that song!!! I listen to it almost everyday
Sean Belzer 80's music is the best imo, u should also check out 'Must be the feeling' and 'Reaching out' by Nero
Thank you Sean! You Rule! I totally disagree too. The style of the 80's is exactly what's needed nowadays. As for those nay sayers I say, "shut up and allow us a renaissance for that great decade" and if they don't like it, well they can turn off their radios.
In my opinion, this really isn't that 80s outside of the epic drums anyways..
Well they brought that forsaken country back and it's still terrible. 80's is awesome. M83 is timeless.
This song always reminds me of my dad who passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in April of 2020. My whole life he was an inventor and a tinkerer. He constantly played around with electronics, and was an amateur mechanic and loved home renovation. His passion for hands-on, science and math-based hobbies was what led me to pursue a career in engineering. The theme of invention in this video perfectly embodies his spirit to me - I can almost picture the kid in the video as being him at a young age.
When I was in engineering school, he bought this album on CD after hearing "Midnight City" on the radio. We both thought the whole album was spectacular and we spent many road trips listening to it together. "Steve McQueen" in particular was one of the tracks that really stood out to us both.
While unconfirmed, there is a fairly high chance that my dad passed away from undiagnosed asbestos exposure-related mesothelioma from his years doing construction work in the 60s and 70s. The irony of all of this is that the real Steve McQueen also died from mesothelioma related complications. Life sure is strange... miss you Dad.
Hurry up, we are dreaming!!
Máster piece
I was born in 1984 and although I 'grew up' in the 90's, my love was always the sounds of the era before. This is so familiar a sound. I love M83.
This is the first song both my sons ever heard after they were each born. "The world is a goldmine."
I revisit this song every year.
My favorite M83 song! Like 80s U2, or Peter Gabriel. Pure magic!
Lyrics :
I woke up stronger than ever
Driven by big waves of fire
To run and yell all the way
Nothing can hurt me today
There's a magic inside
Just waiting to burst out
The world is a goldmine
That will melt tomorrow
I just can't recognize myself
Tears of joy run all over my face
My sensations reach the limit
Nothing can hurt me today
There's a magic inside
Just waiting to burst out
There world is a goldmine
That will melt tomorrow
Living for, living for a thrill
Just waiting, just waiting
Just waiting, just waiting
Just waiting, just waiting
Just waiting, just waiting
Just waiting, just waiting
Thanks 🦾 its very kind of you
Favorite song from M83. I have listened to it almost every day for 4 years with the same sensations

+linda campana Just weed
Yeah this sound definitely makes me feel like I'm in a dream :)
This song is, I believe, my favorite song of all the ones I've heard. It's simply amazing how the vocals mix with the music to create a masterpiece such as this, in my opinion. It makes me forget pretty much everything around me and just relaxes me and helps me to feel that everything is going to be alright. Reading some comments, I understand I am not the only one that feels this way and I'm glad of it. M83, keep creating such excellent music, please.
Whenever I feel down, i listen to this song. Thank you Anthony Gonzalez
I woke up stronger than ever!
Driven by big waves of fire!
To learn and dance all the way!
Nothing can hurt me today!
There's a magic inside...
Just waiting to burst out.
The world is a goldmine,
That will melt tomorrow.
I just can't recognize myself!
Tears of joy run all over my face!
The sensation reach the limit!
Nothing can hurt me today!

Just waiting to burst out.
The world is goldmine,
That will melt tomorrow.
Waiting for, waiting for a dream.
Just waiting!

There's a magic inside... Magic...Amazing!
If this doesn't become as big a hit as Midnight City something is wrong with humanity.
Guess something is definitely wrong with most of humanity
M83 and Chvrches are both my favourite bands. I just love the 80s flashback. And I was born in '94. Pure emotions. This is music. I wish they would play this on radio intead of random American pop songs from Katy Perry and Jason Derulo. ..
R Al Chvrches sucks
Clever Metaphor You suck, you fucking troll
Jordan Rathbun Thanks man. Those comments are just a waste of time.
im sorry i hurt your feelings :(
You didn't hurt my feelings. It's just about using constructive criticism. Why does Chvrches suck? Any reasons for that? Do you have an opinion or are you just a troll?
what a beautiful song.
Yes!!
This should be one of the best songs ever!!!! for real, the feeling in it is marvellous, magnificient, intergalactic, spiritual, the best!
Wow!
It is

They are French ? An even more perfect choice for the tv series Versailles !
Za world is a goldmine, zat will melt tomorrow!
What a stunning looking young actor to go with the bliss of the music
When I was a kid, on nights I couldn’t sleep I’d get up and play with hot wheel cars in the middle of the night. This song brings back that feeling
I love this song so much. Singing quietly to myself all day "There's a magic inside ... that will melt tomorrow." What a great chorus. And song. I love M83 so much.

I can imagine waking up from among the dead on the day of resurrection feeling this way, when the universe starts reversing its space time and psychedelia would be in the air. Can't wait when my sensations reach their limit.
Sure.

that kid had a good childhood!
"At least he can't hurt me today"
I wouldn't agree.
A vagrant swordsman I heard that lyric as "Nothing can hurt me today"
Taylor Weston The guy is French, his English is kinda confusing. But his songs are just amazing!
Peter Riekert yup, that was me when I was 9 or 10, and that was also probably Tv's most famous time-lord.
m83 should be in stranger things
was literally thinking that since the 1st episode them along with survive would have made an incredible score for the show, here's hoping they participate somehow in season 2!
I WAS THINKING THE EXACT SAME THING!!! lol
big black delta should too. that would be a great soundtrack...
Soundtrack was clearly inspired by M83
I think they got the idea of eleven from midnight city
Questa canzone ed il video mi fanno venire in mente i film di Steven Spielberg,The Goonies,ma anche i vari Ritorno Al Futuro...ricordi d'infanzia.
The power of Synthesize Roland J 305, and proud of our french singer Anthony Gonzalez.
The perfect car enthusiast's "caught in the moment" type of tune...the day you finally get that car you've wanted all of your life is finally yours...as the garage starts to open in slow motion, you think to yourself "damn, I finally made it sir". This tune is mos def a treat to the ears *2 thumbs up*
love M83! They have an 80's feel and I love the 80's!! :-)
Trust me, there's plenty of independent music acts that have an 1980s feel (I MEAN TONS OF THEM)
EYTPS im sure there is but I still love M83!! 😁

@@ryanhill6953- yes, indeed!
This is so good!! The cool thing is that this song and all of hurry up, we're dreaming easily could have came out in the 80's and would still be amazing today!!! Si parfait et si unique !
I'm crying right now.... I love you M83! I'm so happy.. beyond happy that you exist. You and the naked and famous are my heroes. I seriously love you... more than anything I have ever loved before.
This is the kind of a song that brings memories and good old times together, when you're walking in the park or doing something, and this song comes on your mind and you get goosebumps all over your body..
There's a magic inside..... love it
I’ve known this song since it was released but I just watched the music video for the first time. Its so cute! And I think something just activated within me…
Forever listening 💓
Highly underrated!
I swear it would probably never happen but if M83 and My Bloody Valentine went to a tour together my life would be redefined.
Beautiful and anthemic
Malgré les années j'aime toujours autant...
Merci à toi Anthony!
because their songs, especially this one, is like pure nostalgia. don't you wish you were still a kid? where everything was still magical?
Goated
This album was an absolute masterpiece. Never gets old.
One of my favourite songs of them. Loveeee itttt
I'll be listening to this on my death bed and still enjoying it just as much.
*PINK FLOYD AND M83* = LIFE SORTED
"Breathe in the light, i'll stay here in the shadow"
"There's someone in my head but it's not me"
Solo M83 pudo conseguir algo tan hermoso y profundo. Esta canción debería tener mucho más reconocimiento.
This song would fit so perfectly in Stranger Things! 😍
Vanessas World do you live in long beach? i think i ve seen you before.
justa crlon No I don't
Damn I suppose it would, I watched 4 episodes but I can tell where you're coming from
Unicode Fullwidth Midnight City is a good one too! Great songs for a great show :)
The Midnight City video looks like a precursor to Stranger Things. The two definitely belong together!
Their music is so pure
When I first heard this song I thought it was Coldplay, but then I discovered it was m83. Since then I got into their music. Love this song!
