- The book burnings during Hitler's reign are frequently mentioned, but never WHAT they banned or WHY, it's time to delve deeper into the subject. They're never discussed in detail, only a quick mention in history books as if it was a huge evil during the National Socialist reign. But was it so bad? Let's find out the truth.
This video is NON-POLITICAL, obviously, I have an opinion like everyone does, but I did try to simply present the facts as they are here without inserting my own opinion, if it didn't come off that way, I apologize but I did try to state the fact several times. I understand why this is a sensitive topic, as if anything relating to the period.

That reminds me of what the US government did in WW1 and WW2. They racially profiled Deutschamerikaner (german-americans), burnt German books, censored German newspapers, and banned the German language. The Germans are also the only minority that haven't apologized to for being forced into 'internment' (or in other words, forced labour) camps. And that's not including civilian action promoted by the government like feather and tarring Deutschamerikaner, even if they have been here since the American Revolution or the Civil War. It also occurred elsewhere in the world; But hey, atleast Australia isn't afraid to say they did it -- except they are proud they interned them and have a whole website detailing their atrocities against German ethnics in a prideful, remorseless way.
Also, the US census shows approximately 15 million Deutschamerikaner simply disappearing between 1990 and 2000 and then proceeding to decrease rapidly after that. I mean, the US was so incredibly German ethnically and culturally until WW1 and WW2, and it feels like we're still being silently suppressed. Can't even hear about my heritage without needing like 20 disclaimers that we weren't nazis, and reminders of how everyone was afraid to even dare go out on their porches during the 1910s-1940s. The maternal (german) side even changed their surname to avoid persecution. We came to the US around the 1848 revolution, fought for the Union, served in WW1 and WW2, abandonded our language and customs after they told us to, served in the Korean and Vietnam wars, and yet my bloodline still is under fear that it's gonna be demonized and mocked solely for being deutschamerikaner if I dare try to rediscover my roots.

The decadent people of the Weimar Republic were viewed as dancing on the graves of the German soldiers that had just perished only a decade before. This period in Germany exuded the idea of post-modernism. I am very emotionally attached to this story because I see its parallels in my own life being a Marine infantryman that served in the Iraq War in 2005 with many friends being killed only to now live in Weimar 2.0 in the United States. I completely understand now why the Germans nationalists hated that government even after taking control of it.

As a german I thank you for your efforts. I am an active member of a traditional student society and topics like this one are actively discussed within our group.
You would not believe how incredibly one sided german history classes are structured in our educational system. And when you are at the age in which WWII is a topic in school, you may have the ability(that means maybe 1 or 2 out of 10 students) to see that there is something missing or wrong, you may even ask questions, but all doubts are nipped in the bud by the teachers.
And around the 2000s, where I was a student, the internet was still too immature to find an alternative view. Don't even try to find it in a german library.

Books have always been updated. Go look at any of the classics and see there were several updates even before our “modern day”. They were called Revised Editions. Nothing new.

You look up quotes and can't find anything, but that person never said that - well in fact they did, but the quote is commonly used because no one is going to quote 2 pages of much more detailed description , but they don't state this when saying they didn't say the quote, they just try to make you think the idea, concept from this person was a myth.
