Ron, your home made roundhouse is just fantastic. I love the overall harmony of light green and cream colours, the equipments look as if they were made in Liverpool !

Thank you for your kind comments, I did try to replicate the materials, colours, and assembly methods of Dublo pre-war

Thanks for taking the time to explain the workings of your layout. Making the features work really brings it to life.

Hi Ronald Another very interesting video, you have incorporated lots of automation into your layout and I found it fascinating to watch. Very well done. Dave

I'm thoroughly enjoying these videos. Thankyou. When I eventually get around to unpacking all my 00 collection and have the time and space to build a new layout I'll be incorporating your route selection method using diodes. Brilliant, thankyou for this clear explanation which even electrical dunces like me can understand!
I work for the SNCF in France and this reminds me of the PRS (Poste d'aiguillage à Relais Souple) at Lyon Part Dieu station where I worked as duty station manager 15 years ago. Route selection in and out of the station resembled your system. The technology in the PRS was already over 20years old where I worked there and dated from the opening of the station and the first TGV line from Lyon to Paris in 1981. Now it has all gone replaced by a huge computer control centre a few km up the line.

Thank you for explaining how you use diodes to control your points. Can I ask are you using a capacitor discharge unit with the diodes?

Hi Martin, No I don't find the need for a CDU and not sure how they might affect the diodes. Regards, Ron
