I love everything about anthony's playing.
This comment is still very relevant
It’s unworldly talent
Never come across a busy complex drummer like this that is so tasteful.
musicians that cant keep there own timing depend heavily on the drummer to do so for them....but that hadicaps yur drummer...he cant venture out because you'll get lost on your instrument..so therefor that musician now wants to blame the drummer....whatever...keep up or go home...especially if the drummer produce the track.....great video RBjr!!
I wasn't aware of that stuff and I appreciate you getting me up to speed on it. To me without getting technical it's all about enjoying listening to any drummer. I think Ron's a blast to listen to. The worst thing you can say about him is that at times he overplays. Hard not to with that Skill-set. It's like trying to keep a Ferrari under 70 MPH. As I said these gigs are based strictly on the drummer showcasing his skills. This isn't a CD or even a concert setting. He's not from this planet.
Man i used to play this all the time back in the day!! Such good memories! Glad i came across it again :)
This band warms my heart...keeping the REAL fusion alive. This is quality here.
How is a drumming performance like this possible? Some can practice for a lifetime and never get near this level. Just incredible.
I am not a drummer, but I loved every second of this.
Sheer perfection. Simply flawless...
Currenly my favorite band for sure! Outstanding.
I never liked any drummer nearly as much as Buddy Rich until now!
dude is just scary good 😲😲😲
They need to release this on itunes. I remember when this was live on the drum channel. What a treat
most legit, musical, and tight group ive heard in years..i may not know alot of fusion-esque groups..but i already know this is up there
Guitar credit-- Charles Altura
Dennis Ham - keys 🎹
just incredible...
Desde el primer segundo me di cuenta que este tío es diferente a todos estos buenos .Su manera de enfocar el tiempo y los breaks es de un gusto tremendo.Increible Ronald
this takes me back... i know its new but dayum this reminds me of return to forever thats saying something
This band is INCREDIBLE.
he has definitely mastered the drums period. theres no other way to say it. the bass is off the chain too!!!
amazing performance......
pure magic
nuts... drums and bass... is amazing
He nailled the song and still had enough for a killer solo?? OMG
He is a freak of nature wow
At 6:13 they play Mahavishnu Orchestra's You Know You Know
my new favorite bass man!!!!!!
THIS IS AWESOME MAN!!! LOVED EVERY SECOND
Yooo when they hit the You Know, You Know groove for Ronald to blow over 🔥
Got Chops?..... Anthony Crawford does.
4:38 Ron is the man
pure joy
Still here
@andersonearl it does remind me of old school 70s fusion... its really freakin exciting!!
@Trying2Rip btw, thats part of the reason george and stanley use him so much. they both have stated that he is the only person that is at the level of billy. george called him a bull.
His drums sound great.
I'm totally new in this. Thanks a lot! I'm gonna listel those guys right now.
its jazz fusion. if you seriously are new to this (which could happen in this day and age ) and you want to hear more check out Herbie hancock head hunters album, chic correa, and for more modern stuff thundercat
I saw Dennis Hamm playing with CAB at The Baked Potato last year (see "CAB at the Baked Potato - March 2009" on CZcams). He's sick!
Superb!
I would love to see them in Germany!!
nice ronald bruner is a beast
Gtuiarist is straight CHILLIN!!
*0:18 mad stick throw, recovers with a tasty fill* this guy is seriously on fire!
Wow that one dude knows how to play a bass! Oh and Ronalds pretty good too lol
that roll he did at 9:13......
just.....DAMN
bass player raw as all get out!!!!!! dang!!!!
Ronald pushes the envelope and he knows it. He likes to explore how fast and complex you can play a passage and he enjoys doing that. Billy Cobham, MIchael Walden, Mouzon and others did the same within a Jazz-Rock context in the 70s and 80s. Particularly Billy who literally invented the style. Ronald does not care at this point of his career about elegance or taste same as Billy who played a drum solo in every song in his first albums.
I have never seen any other drummer go ape shit like ronald did at the end of this clip....unreal!
brilliant
Man @ 7:19 he sounds like billy cobham with that big roll. He's a freak of nature behind the kit
Bruner sounds exactly like Cobham, they're playing a song on The Inner Mounting Flame
Tony Grey-Chasing Shadows-shares drumming with chris dave-probs best album in along time
Scott Kinsey-Kinesthetics-Plays on shinjuku
George Duke-Dukey Treats
Michael Landau Live-Worried life blues, Johnny Swing.
Drummer is awesome
The drummer is sick..That set is very unique..i wonder who made it..
Now that's a drum solo....done
@Trying2Rip ronald and chris dave.
im diggin the sexy ass 2nd snare he is usin
a lot of ron's chops being beat on has a lot to do with the whole chris dave/J-dilla/timbaland thing. his mom mentioned that he, for a while, was learning programmed beats(and she worried about his playing). as a matter of fact in the interview that this clip comes from his dad mentioned it.
where can i find the whole video with the interview?
Looks like charles artura on guitar.
Have you checked out Gentle Hearts? Dennis Chambers plays on that one and it's SIIICK
@OoGeostigmaoO cuz he's a beast and, this was for drum channel
@fusion07mp3 .merci beaucoup
I think he meant it as a compliment
@Moog167 he is very good.very
@winnerbaby44 Glad you do...Might want to patten it tho...
@Trying2Rip no, more like billy cobham. dennis had his limitations. rons got a lotta ish 2gether. theres really nothing he can't do. when dennis hit the scene, in a lotta ways billy was still the dude everyone looked up to. when ron hit the scene he literally pushed the boundrys of human abilities just as billy(and buddy before him) did. but i do agree ron is (and will be for a long time)that dude.
why does it feel like iv heard this song before in a movie or TV show or somthing
6:32
him, dis in 5/4? sounds greattt
FUUUSIONNNN !!!!!!
id love to see bhim and tony royster jam it out soon!!!!
doug johnson ジャズ
No Eric, no Tony, no Aron, no one can match Ron, if you're studying that guy you'll understand it pretty quick :-D he is soo faaaaaaar away from all of those guys I mentioned before. Man, Ron is unbelievable
waoooo !!! des ET
How it is defined this genre of music?
Spot on. The only guy who can match Ron physically is Tony Royster jr, who's also a freak of nature. Ron can play anyway that he wants. Stanley Clarkes " Toys Of Men" is almost all in the pocket. However if he wants to be flamboyant and let it all hang out, he can do things physically that even the great drummers out there can't touch. His chops being beat on is odd to me. These videos are about going off. The style part is just a matter of taste. If he's not the best, he's top 5. Enjoy
Subie Gate honestly In my opinion tony royster can’t keep up with Ron , tony fast but Ron is fast and hits HARDDD and he has killer combinations
I totally Agree FAM
you can tell there's some dave weckl and dennis chambers influence in there
Who is on guitar??
awesome!!
is that charles altura?
@fusion07mp3 Um evidently you cant read..because Mr.Music Dictionary just said that in the last comment soo I dont need to be corrected AGAIN.I got nit,now you get it!.......Now take time and read what "winnerbaby44" wrote..
What is The name of the First Song ?
Wtf what do u mean not available in the US
@202drummerboy I think he turns 29 this year
That music at 6:15 is from Jill Scott song Real thing
Actually it's You Know You Know from The Inner Mounting Flame
who is the guitarist? please.
Is this on iTunes?
the whole band is killin, who is the guitarist?
Charles Altura (Chick Corea & The Vigil, Terrance Blanchard, ........)
charles altura on guitar
What is this song called?
5 vocalists or what?)
what is the name of the first song?
This dude is a freak!
tony royster would be the dennis chambers. ronald's the billy cobham
Good analysis
Well... this is his showcase tune, where he take his solo, if he doesn't overplay this one then when???
When you make a bass sound like Mickey Mouse I don't care how well you can play
That is Billy Cobham reincarnated!!!
Isn't that Dennis Hamm on keys?
how old is he?
IS THAT BROCKETT PARSON ON KEYS!!!!
@Louis Reyna Pianist for Thundercat. Hamm is amazing
