    Hey! Great channel. Would love to see you review/compare Rossi Endura boots. They’ve been my favorite alternative to Blundstones. Cheers!

      Thank you! I've got the Endura on the list! I love that they're made with one piece of leather - so many Chelseas have so many panels. Plus the bright red pull tab!

    O bought a pair of 500s in black off Amazon because they never had my size in black in the 550s. This (500) finally showed up in my size after months of checking. Also have the 550s in Walnut (18 months) and I love em. So versatile and are ageing nicely. To be honest, no major differences in wear between the two. I got the 500s for $134.

    Most Australians dont own a pair of blunstones, maybe tradies wearing them as work boots. Personally I think RM Williams boots are more popular

      I love RM Williams boots. But they are PRICEY here in the States. Their Gardener line - in a similar style to classic Blundstones, with more structure and quality, is handcrafted in Australia and features a Goodyear welt. And they run over $500. Beautiful boots!

      Redbacks are popular with tradies and also Mongrel side zips.

    Good video! Maybe put the background music less loud :)

    If you live in a tropical and humid environment, the 550 might feel hot on the feet. That’s why when my 550 broke down, I opted for the 500. Blundstones are not dress boots so I don’t expect plushness on my feet. I just wear slightly thicker socks. For my Alden and Viberg dress boots I usually wear thinner socks. I think Blundstone fans should have both 500 and 550, in different colors 😊
    Eventually, I found a cobbler who could properly resole my old broken Blundstones with lugged Vibram outsoles. Now I have 3 pairs of Blunnies!

      I wish there was a way to 'test' if they were warmer or not. I've had both the 500s and 550s and didn't feel the 550s to be warmer. One thing I hadn't thought of though - If you rotate the 550s do they 'recover' as quickly as other boots or does the inner layer slow them from drying out.

      There’s a guy in Canada repairs all boots and Blundstone hand stitched.

    I don’t see this as a real comparable video, show each boot side by side, inside, stitch diffence, and sole difference, all I got out of it is what you don’t like about the 500s, I have had a pair for 5 years and still going strong, and the 500 has a lower profile than the 550. That’s what I like the most about the 500, they don’t look like steel toe boots.

    This video is full of granular details on both series of blundstones. But since the 550 are a bit wider that tye 500, what size do you wear in the 550? Thank you

    • @ChelseaBootReview
      @ChelseaBootReview  Před 8 měsíci +3

      Thank you for watching @manjiirmiya8383! I'm glad you liked the video.
      The 550 is a bit wider than the 500, but not necessarily longer. I wear a UK/AU 9 (US Men's 10) in both the 500 and 550. The 550 does come with two sets of foot beds (insoles) and you might want to stack them if the 550 feels too lose. One if flat and the other shaped with arch support. Stacking is a recommendation that Blundstone makes too.
      Remember - when boots break in, they might get a little looser round your foot, but they'll never get longer. So you should be the same size in either model.

      @@ChelseaBootReview thanks for your reply. One more thing though I am a size UK 9 or US 10 and 10 and 11 in sneakers respectively. However I have a bit of a high arch on my right foot which opens up down my toe area. Meaning that my tight foot occupies more volume in my shoes. Recently I tried on a split toe derby dress shoes in UK 9.5 on my right foot and they fit perfectly without the pinching on my pinky toe. Would you still advise I take a blundstone in size UK 9?
      Thank you

      @@manjiirmiya8383 I'd definitely go with the 550s over the 500s. That extra space will make them more comfortable on the top of your fotot. My experience has been that Blunnies are true to size - meaning that my sneaker and boot sizes are the same. So US size 10 in both for me. I think boots like Blundstones and Dr. Martens are close to sneakers in terms of fit. Let us know what you learn - it would be helpful for everyone!

      i have just had replace my 12 year old bundstone. I was certain they were 500, so i brought a new pair online same size and model, but they were far to narrow so i had go one size up. Unfortunately I asked the cobbler to throw the old pair out as it was not worth getting them repaired. But after seeing this video i can see that my old model must have been 550.

    • @ChelseaBootReview
      @ChelseaBootReview  Před 8 měsíci +2

      Oh no@@jD-mf6sf ! You got 12 years out of them! That's amazing. The 550s are definitly a bit roomier.

    Hell with all that and goofy sizing. THOROGOOD station boots, EZ just order a size smaller, because they run big, and a large toe box with plenty of toe room. Super comfy. Been happy with them for years. Day in day out, 365/7 days a week. On a boat on my feet 10 hrs. And in wet environment. Just spray with leather waterproofer.

      I like how they call them "Quick Release Boots" instead of Chelseas. @ $115 for the soft toe. I'll check them out!

    The 500 series fit me better for someone with low volume wide feet. The 550 have much better color selection though.

      It's interesting how they compete against each other. The boots are so similar but built on different lasts which makes them fit differently.
