Today, we are in Balat and Fener, on the shores of the Golden Horn, one of the oldest settlements in Istanbul, which many of us know with its colorful houses, but whose history actually dates back to the 1400s.
In the past, it hosted Greek, Jewish, Armenian and Muslim people; today, the memories of all of them are still kept and the district is among the most visited places in Istanbul.
Our journey starts with the magnificent red brick building that also hosts the Fener Greek High School continues with the patriarchate, synagogues, churches, the street bazaar.
