The Black Keys, Beck, Gorillaz). Das Mixing übernahm mit Radioheads langjährigem Stammproduzenten Nigel Godrich ebenfalls ein nicht ganz Unbekannter. finally the right version of this video. they have some fake corny one also on youtube. i remembered the row boat. how could we forget the fact mtv played this video every night, anyone remember the name of the countdown show before trl came out on mtv?
M&M boxing Hotty productions yesssss..could it have been buzz worthy.. or 20 top count down . But I'm so gladd this video hasn't gone extinct, I heard they all hated this version but..it's so epic, dresses, the boat. The 90s.

Because I heard that band (or Kiedis) doesn`t like this Anton Corbijn`s cool version. This seemed too surreal for them and they did realistic (-boring) studio version.
Yeah, I was like where's the boat when I watched the other one. This is what I saw every morning on MTV in 95 before school in 2nd grade. It was like the most popular video, and some Alanis Morisette one but I forget...and what if god was a stranger on the bus, and come to my window ill be home soon.....what a year.

Beautiful song...I never did understand WHY this album was disliked by so many, as I thought it was as good as the rest of their 90's era classics. I mean 'Blood Sugar Sex Magik' was a masterpiece before this, and 'Californication' was after, but for some reason many people want to overlook 'One Hot Minute'. 'One Hot Minute' is a masterpiece in its own right, and Dave Navarro deserves more love, and respect than what he got for doing it. John Frusciante is the best fit for the Peppers in my opinion, and it's a shame he left again, but John Frusciante was also a good fit, and I don't understand why he left after such a good album?

I can't remember the timeline but One Hot Minute was when Fruscante's drug problems really got out of control and put strain on Anthony and his relationship. But adding Navarro was a good move in the long run Peppers aetheric could have easily have gone stale but Navarro actually added a different layer of polish and style the Peppers still use.
This is Basically how Metallica changing their style for the 1991 Metallica Album did for them, in my opinion.
This album was disliked because people are IDIOTS.
Magazines like Rolling Stone and People used to be a thing too...this album will outlive them both.
Had to more to do with band politics .. Anthony Kiedis didn't vibe with Navarro and pretty much said so... Kiedis loved Frusciante and kinda didn't allow himself to accept Navarro.. I agree with you though... I like the stuff they did with Navarro ! They probably wasn't feeling his ass laying in coffins and stuff 😝
This video is 100 times better than the boring ass one they replaced it with.

I agree this version is awesome...and way more creative,entertaining,and beautiful than the other 'studio' version.
To me this one also more truly represents what you'd expect to see in a music video from the peppers from that
era than the other video.
OMG I know right!?! I just found this one and I was so happy. The other one was super boring. I love the part where they are all in the boat together and Anthony's hair is straight up, classic crazy images from one of the best bands ever. ❤️

I like the studio video better....the trippy weirdness you talk of doesnt match the song's feeling imo. It makes light of a dark and heavy feeling the song portrays.

Agreed, Navarro was the most technically proficient guitarist RHCP ever had, and while John Frusciante is a solid rhythm player and riff writer, I never liked the way that he solos it just sounds static and flat to me.

This video made perfect sense back in like 1995 or 96, whenever it came out in heavy airplay. Music videos, like cinema, were meant to mimic dreams and surreal, psychedelic visions.

That's a good question. Y'know; all the white flashes throughout the video when cutting from frame to another, people dressed as clowns with a sad look on their face, the angry moon figure on the sky.... people painted with silver and gold paint just angrily staring at the camera etc etc. Fuking funny isn't it :D

Brilliant music from so many back then, Oasis, Garbage, Alice in chains, the rentals, Natalie merchant, even goo dolls and michael jackson were at their best. Not to mention the Beatles themselves had briefly reunited for a few new songs

My favorite Chili Pepper album, I loved Navarros sound he brought with the band, gave them a less jammy sound and more atmosphere. Also glad I saw them live with him, great era of music to witness.

I also love this album.
I think it's incredibly interesting. It's quick changes from quite and loud music, Antony's vocal style is very unique and the instrumentals absolutely kill it. This is one of the most inspiring Albums I've heard so far.

For all though who don't know Fruscante's addiction was winning (like seriously, almost Lain Stayley level to the point of losing teeth) and Anthony's relationship was damn near destroyed. Davarro was essential, as he was picking up the slack of the band (because, he was that talented), and added a bit of that class, professional and polish that kept the members at their game. Plus, he was just soo damn cool, he contrasted perfectly off the Goofy members :)
P.S. is the little girl he's talking about heroin? Because that wouldn't surprise me
I read about it in some lyrics website (i forgot the web). It’s about Anthony watch a little girl who win some figure ice skating on tv. And the girl said that on her winning speech.
It was something a real girl said, not everything is a drug reference…

One Hot Minute was the last RHCP album I really liked/enjoyed.

Maybe the label was concerned about the homoerotic and drag stuff in the video. I recall reading once the label was worried that they would lose followers and that the record would flop because of that.

El pibe que estaba de remplazo de Frusciante tocaba re bien y aun que sea tocaron aeroplane con él. No se si será por una cuestión de ego de John, pero algunos artistas son así tiene sus rayes.
