  • Russia's Luna-25 spacecraft has crashed into the Moon after spinning into an uncontrolled orbit, officials say.
    The unmanned craft was due to make a soft landing on the Moon's south pole, but failed after encountering issues as it moved into its pre-landing orbit.
    It was Russia's first Moon mission in almost 50 years.
    Roskosmos, Russia's state space corporation, said it lost contact with the Luna-25 shortly after running into difficulties.

    The fact that they got there is the cool part, they're landing gear probably didn't work because of the temperature change in space, it's really difficult to account for all of the different energies even on Earth, but in space you have no protection from the sun so one side is really hot, but at the same time there's no air keeping your equipment insulated by spreading the heat to the other side, so of course the dark side is unbelievably freezing cold, it's really an engineering miracle that we get anything anywhere in space but of course the media wouldn't understand that

      Hi fives all around for India :D
      Turns out when you let the scientists and engineers do their job, in their own time, so they're able to stay vigilant and concentrate on the many calculations it must take to remotely land relatively fragile and unpiloted technology on a distant object away from this planet - it'll improve the missions chances. Making them treat space exploration like Dick Dastardly and Muttley attempting to "stop the pigeon" because a deranged ex-assassin who inexpicably rules the country now says so, lest they mysteriously fall out off the nearest open window - it'll probably not go so well!

      The fact is the Indian mission is designed to be on the cheap side, and they don't use a big rocket for the lunar injection (going from 17,000 mph to 24,000 mph), but slowly raise the Earth orbit until the ship is captured by the lunar gravity. Instead of large amounts of fuel and a big engine, they utilise the kick from the earth's gravity; this technique requires a long time to get to the Moon...

      The ISRO is taking the sensible low fuel route to the Moon, which can obviously be done with unmanned missions. The Russians took the direct route, like Apollo used. No one can know just how bright their light bulbs really are until they place their eye against the bulb itself and then taken a look. Until then, they only know how bright it is from where ever they are standing.
    This also applies to the Sun and Moon. So, if you can read a newspaper by moonlight when the Moon is supposed to be over 230,000 miles away, then how bright do you think it would be if you were actually walking on its surfacer trying to film some home movies ? The answer would be…That you would be standing in plasma, that you might as well be standing inside a laser beam. No one can ever walk on the Moon, it is not a world, it is a light. And it doesn't rotate, is rolls like a wheel. There is no dark side, there is only what we see.
    (Every time that you find yourself halfway to the source of emission, both light, heat and sound will increase fourfold. This is the inverse square law and it is non-negotiable. It increases exponentially. (This is not a theory, it is a law)).

      They did not land in the middle of the brightest reflection from the Sun. O believe you don't even see the Sun in those movies. They were on the edge of the light/dark. It was a big deal figuring where to land. Then they overflow the sight...were worried but set don anyway. You cannot bring up real science that has not been addressed by NASA. Go tell them your theories.

      @darwinsaye Před 11 měsíci

      @@super_ficial Ever heard of reflected light? Do your example where you put your eye up against the lightbulb to experience how much brighter it is than from further back. NOW, put that lightbulb shining onto a white wall. Look at the wall from a distance, and then put your eyeball right up to the wall, like you did with he lightbulb. Did the wall get brighter when you did that? Do you understand the difference based on that example?

    • @super_ficial
      @super_ficial Před 11 měsíci +1

      @@darwinsaye No one can do that because their own shadow will get in their way, but yeah, as near as I can tell the white gloss does become a little brighter and shinier.
      Also, moonlight is not reflected sunlight nor is the Moon a ball. If the Moon was a ball then the Moon, like all balls when a light is shown on it would have a 'Bright Spot' on it but it doesn't, therefore, the Moon can't be a ball (That one of their lies)
      Also, moonlight is colder than moonshadow (this you can test for yourself) it's more of a neon light rather than a spectrum. Sunlight is healthy and moon light is putrid.
      The Moon obviously emits its own kind of light (That's another one of their lies). And so your question just isn't really applicable.
