My fro has been growing for about 7 months right now since I last cut it, so seems like the perfect length to start freeforming. My last set of locs I used a crochet needle and it really messed up the texture and made em all stiff and unnatural looking.

yo bro u rly helped me a lot doing my loc journey, im also doing freeform with mixed hair and ur locs r dam near exactly what im going for so im following yo shi step by step pretty much 😭. im like 6 months in n im seeing shi start 2 loc up a lil n im rly seeing how they’re gonna form, but i feel like i waited a little too long to separate them. ive separated some of them recently and some of it has gone pretty well but other parts have been hella difficult to pull apart without my shit HURTIN. so i jus wanna ask u when and how did u go abt separating urs cuz ur locs r fye n i need my lightskin prestige boost. all love bro.
Yoooooo I appreciate that a lot g!! Tbh when u split the loca ts gunna hurt a lil bit cause u literally ripping the hair apart but I would normally just split them once I saw that they were starting to combine so that could be like every morning when I’m checking my locs I’d go in and split the ones that needed it type shit 🤌

wassup bro, whats the texture of your hair? i have like a 3c,3b texture, you think that can workout for me too?
Do some parts of your head also have straighter/curlier hair. Like does the texture vary across ur head
Texture definitely does vary, I’d say in the back and sides it locs quicker so most likely more curly compared to like the top of my head where it doesn’t loc as quickly so it’s probably looser
How did you get your dreads the same size? I know you got freeform but they all look the similar size
It really fell down to when I was separating them but the curl pattern was pretty consistent so it did its own thing, so when separating try to keep the same size.
@@CameronSafackpreciate it bro, your dreads are really good for being in that 3 hair type category, I have I think the same hair type as you and wanna get dreads just like you fam. Lastly, did you ever use a dread sponge at all?
@@FrostyGrape I appreciate you bro it took a lot of waiting around but it worked out. I haven’t used the sponge at all closest thing was just damping it with a towel.
