Despite how some people may feel about his playing, you gotta hand it to Travis Barker for staying relevant over all these years but also for just being a monster live performer and entertainer.
Exactlyyy
How do some people feel about his playing?
Hardest working musician period.
Agreed
@@bigdawgxd1920 his playing can sometimes be very focused on speed and sometimes is perceived as very noisy. Some other solid drummers focus not only on speed but also musicality.
Dave Grohl always said if your going to be a drummer, be one that people notice and remember. Travis ticks that box completely.
RIP Taylor
That’s exactly right! I recognize him every time bc his style is like no other! You can always tell when it’s trav playing! Man he just does something to me!
Love Travis😊
People in the comments section are saying that his drumming is simple, but allow me to explain as a drummer myself. I played various styles of music from the time I was in 5th grade up until I was 28 which was the last time I played (marching band, jazz band, concert band, wind ensemble, my own personal bands) I was more of a punk/metal drummer behind a kit and I can tell you that while punk rock is simple to play the beats where as metal tends to have more complex beats depending on the bands drummer of course and Jazz is a whole different ball park of drumming. Although punk is simple, the art form of it isn't the beats but the speed and stamina of it is what makes it an art form of drumming and not everyone who drums can keep up with the speed and if they can but are not used to the speed can't hold the tempo for long (stamina) but in Travis Barkers case he kind of proved that punk drumming cam be more complex than the same old fast punk beat. Don't believe me listen to the album "Enema of the State" because their are a handful of songs on it that he changed to punk drumming game for all drummers of that genre. My point here is punk drumming is an art form even though it's very repetitious not everyone that drums can play punk and if they can do it probably not On Travis Barkers level.
No one seems to notice how hard the physicality of sounding the way he does really is. This guy is also accurate. Travis haters never kept up with his progress. Travis is great in his own right and is a master at the styles he plays.
I am a 52 year old black woman who has been a fan long before his wife was involved. He amazes me. I love raw talent. Wishing him and his family the best.
Im obsessed I sweat when he plays. I just can’t. THE BEST THAT EVER HELD STICKS EVER. MY HEART BEAT CHANGES EVERY TIME HE PLAYS. I CAN ONLY WATCH A LITTLE AT A TIME
The behind the back stroke in clip 17 is unreaaaalll
You see like 15 drumsticks at one time that’s how fast he’s going
Easily one of the best drummers over the last twenty years. No one can match him.
Tomas haake: Am I a joke to you?

I think Dan Trapp is good af too. blink is my favorite band, don’t get me wrong. Love me some Travis.
Thomas Lang kicks his 4ss. Check out Marco Minnemann and Gavin Harrison, too.
yeah, no
Estepario Siberiano
Love him or hate him…you know who he is and there arent many drummers that can be identified solely by their name alone without it being follow by, “…the drummer for…!”
I could literally name hundreds of drummers who are known for their drumming and not for being associated with a band.
@Will Castillo and that’s awesome. But let’s please not pretend that the general public can list off tons of drummers who are alive/relevant currently
@@shannonceleste5557 you busted him down👍
True
@@officialmetalwill //definitely not true
Awesome compilation, thanks for posting! God bless :)
Ive always loved Travis Barker but as a drummer of many years myself I have something to note! Travis shines but also got to shine! Not many other band members sanction exploratory drumming parts or patterns to their songs! Barker is a unique historical example of an amazing drummer being in the right band (for universal success) while also being in a band that sanctioned and even celebrated Barker's contributions to the songs and ideas! My experiences with bands mostly has been to play only a beat for the song and band, anything more resulting in push back even if my beat were only a slight more involved than a standard rock beat, so prooves the right band has the right mind set. Travis is made more exceptional though as a drummer by virtue of his continuing passion for drums despite being a multimillionaire. He is a drummer first and celebrity second. His bands musicians who get that also. If you play drums, seek bands who want drums and not metronomes! Travis did this! Prove me wrong otherwise
Great, excellent, fabulous, amazing art. 🙏🙏👌🏽👌🏽
Just goes to show, playing simple stuff but playing it with style can make you a drumming icon
Simple?
@@macneto1984 his beats are simple but the speed and stamina is what makes punk drumming the art form that it is.
This Travis guy is pretty good
He should probably join a band
Shut up

No
drum goals!
Clip 6 at 2:50 is absolutely bonkers. The precision, musicality, endurance, all at insane speeds. I definitely need to practice more
He might not be the best but you gotta hand it to him for creating his own style that's very unique to him. Like when you hear the chops you'll immediately know it's Travis.
Bro, who starts out a sentence about travis like that? He definitely objectively is a phenomenal drummer.
Amazing footage
To everyone on here slagging travis feel free to upload your drumming skills. He might not be the world's greatest but I can guarantee he's got more talent than the lot of you all put together
Right he literally kills it on the drums...top 5 best drummers of all time....he's mine next to led zeppelin
@@garyvalentine8805 Yeah Led Zeppelin is a great drummer too.
@@narvul lol love it “Led Zeppelin” yes, absolutely. Bohnam was a top tier drummer.
Travis is awesome
IMPRESSED!!🎶
You are amazing!
I love this guy cause. He’s the best drummer in his own right. No matter what. I. Vp a league all of his own. Can’t be beat.
This man is my hero
Travis’ drumming style looks so messy but it manages to work, one of the best drummers I’ve seen play live.
The Goatnessssss!😱🤗
He came from Drum and Bugle Corps. So did I. Then I got a new teacher. The professor of percussion. He slowed me down and gave me taste. I was like Buddy Rich all the time. My teacher was Gene Krupa's friend. He was a musical drummer. I then listened to Tony Williams and many others to develop a style. Not lack of style. I knew hundreds of classic rock and probably a total of almost 1,000 songs. I could play anyone's style. My base was the same as Barker's though. I had to change it in order to grow.
Underrated drummer for sure. He’s a beast!
ur joking right
@@Albosalb huh?
The way he dances on them drums. Damn
Magnifique
He's friggin shredding at 6:09
What is the song at 6:00?
Just wow. Unreal talent. Keep it going mate
His rock drumming is amazing, but I’m in love with how he plays trap on the drums.
Talent 👏👏👏👏👏
🤘🏻🥁 Travis Barker in the drums of the all time and he hitting the drums with his own signature Sticks from Zildjian and his clothing Famous Stars and Straps and DTA Records and Machine Gun Kelly album Tickets To My Downfall
He also had a signature cowbell if I remember correctly
Rien d extraordinaire.
The professional Artist, Actually A Goat 🐐 🏵🏵🏵
I send my biggest tribute to this great man and incredible Artist. 👌🏽👌🏽🙏🙏
clip 4, he can do that without looking, crazy
Just 🔥
lI'm a professional singer for many years, don't know much about drumming. But I do have a good ear and have worked with many great drummers, and it seems to me that Travis Barker is a phenomenal drummer. He's truly gifted and likely, I would guess, amongst the best.
lol
Damn Travis ❤
Travis, you are gonna have to teach me how to do this😂
Travis is a fckn beast 110 % full energy his stick work is dope asf definetly not a pansy ass drummer his drum solos are fckn dope asf
Monster
One of the best, and is playing with EVERYONE relevant. Bad ass and underrated. Especially his hands.
Yes he has some chops but it’s the same stuff all the time, too much arm movement and wasted energy, most people don’t really know what a good drummer is, in his case it’s just his name. The best drummers are in the jazz fusion world who can play any style.
@@maeu59 you're not familiar enough with his scope to make that assesment. He has marching band, as well as jazz background chops that are rarely on display. The fact that you dont know that told me what I need to know. And I never said he's Dave Weckl. And his 100 million dollar income tells me he's better than you think.
@@JA-io8nx I’m aware of his background but I don’t see him applying it to his playing, if he really has that jazz background he would have eventually moved away from this style and the bands he’s been playing with. I get it the money is there so take it, but like you say he’s no Dave Weckl and from his playing style I really don’t think he’s capable.
@@maeu59 Not quite sure why he'd need to apply marching or jazz to his style. And no, he wouldn't necessarily move away from punk pop and hip hop playing because he has a wider scope. Not sure what you think those two things are mutually exclusive. His hands are brilliant, you're just in denial, most likely because of the scope of his recognition.
@@JA-io8nx no denial, I just don’t see the versatility in his playing and would like to see him branch out and use the skills you say he has.
So much salt here... Thanks for posting!!!
Ooh wee!
🔥🔥🔥
Only 10 minutes for Travis Barker?!
very cool
🔥🔥🔥🔥
So many people hate him, they debate on whether or not he is the greatest, which I dont think can be determined with so many drummers and styles out there. However, he is a fucking solid and technically sound drummer
I got to work the blink 182 show at the Chula Vista amphitheater a handful of years ago and I remember that they're band members had the best vibe.... I've worked lots of shows I think on that same show I was working with Weezer and they are my all-time worst band to work for but then blink-182 is just the best , They were just good people through and through, I'm glad I got to experience that.....
guy is a machine gun
Travis is the SHIZNET
Bad ass
one of the best fucking drummers to ever exist

What’s the song name at 5:18?
Anyone know the name of the song on clip 12? Or full link to the video?
Info about clip 12, cuz that was dope
The first clip he kinda has the face of I'm too old for this
Rien de plus qu'un de plus...
Omg beside neil pert
Song clip 12?
What is that wood block hes using for the rim shot sound?
It’s a wood block. Literally.
How do people actually say that he is bad at playing with a straight face?
Anybody that says he’s bad at playing is either A. Not a musician B. A hater of the genre he plays C. Tone deaf or D. All the above
Yeah I’m with Mr.Chaos there. Anyone that says Travis is “simple” or “Meh” is probably a dimwit when it comes to music.
Songs?
whats name song in clip 6?
I hear so much John Bonham
What is clip 19 from??
Anyone know what song clip 6 is?
👍
Wow, my sight is really slow, I see so many drumsticks...
Kourtney is blessed as he is too
whats the song for clip12???
Baked fried beans by jasiah
Just frying, no big deal!
Be a great drummer for Mammoth looking Wolfgang Van Halen he's on a tour right now with guns n' roses and needs a drummer
clip 12?
Dah ready ka Travis?
He is great. Good drumming is not always about speed alone though. Check out Marco Minnemann, Gavin Harrison, Thomas Pridgen, Thomas Lang (just to name a few) who add a lot more musicality and diversity to their drumming. Not to even mention folks like Dave Weckl or Vinnie Colaiuta.
Wow...Never heard of them..I'll check 'em out...Thanks for the wisdom! LOL
I like Travis because his style play drum different,, energic and not borring
Pridgen is siiick
I'd like to hear him play in a hardcore metal band. He is good no doubt but the greatest I don't know. I'm a metal head and compare everyone to Dave Lombardo.
I saw some comments here that are reminding me of my drum playing experience so i wanna share a story
bro is playing a dead genre (punk rock) and he is relevant is 2021 and he will continue to do what he loves, which is playing really simple stuff really loud and fast, THERE IS NOTHING WRONG THERE
My brother told me that i suck at drums because i played punk all my life but to me drums were a form of escapism from being a poor student and kind of a family failure, it was one time where I was good at something and it gave me tons of self belief and confidence
i didn't want to be the next buddy rich or some jazz prodigy, i literally couldn't care less about that
stop fucking criticizing people who like different music to you, it just brings them down and makes them feel like they are stupid for just enjoying something... at the end of the day its MUSIC and we all LOVE music, so stop judging people and telling them who to like and listen to, its cringe and in some aspects its like buying because you're '' so much smarter and better then others '' for listening to jazz or prog
Travis is doing what I was too scared to do, and that is be himself and do what he likes
all the '' jazz swing prog '' people who told me to stop playing pop rock and told me to focus on learning are some potheads who are circle jerking and acting to seem smart and intelligent, going to shows where 20 people show up just so they can say their hipster '' i listen to something nobody understands '' line
To me, music is about playing, singing and having a good time, and i wanna say that i'm really glad i didn't give up drumming completely because this video motivates me to try again and record some covers of songs that i love, without caring if they're loud and fast
The non-drummers favorite drummer...
I dunno man. I’m in my 30s, have drummed since I was five, and he’s my favourite drummer.
Como olvidar cuando Bizzarap tocó la guitarra junto a Travis

Great performer. Okay drummer.
He plays simple stuff really loudly… and fast.
Because that's what he likes to play... You don't really think he can't play any other style do you...?
That's his niche and it keeps him in demand.
half of these clips are just "violence"
Tá comendo muito bem 😃👍

Its nascar aloe and Jasiah I think the song is called dogshit
Straight outta the bush. (with a chromosome problem)
I just need the tats and the Kardashian.
Animal muppets #1
to everyone says that he is good, he is pretty average, nothing really special, every semi pro drummer in some cover band can do what he is doing. wanna see a really good drummer? check Kai Hahto for example, this guy playing jazz, playing black metal, playing grindcore smiling behind his kit and having fun, playing multiple odd meters at the same time to challenge his mind while he is training. Kai is a machine!
Authentic....just like phil rund or ...from u2...the job is to be on the one....thats all....
I mean phil from Acdc
