Everybody, lets start a rant on crayons🖍🖍🖍🖍🖍🖍🖍🖍🖍🖍🖍🖍🖍
I stumbled upon your vids and have watched a few of them now and I've learnt that most of the process of solving a puzzle box is you wondering "is that supposed to move or did I break it?" haha (amazing content btw)
He has done a lot of puzzels where it specifically says "do not use excessive force" so if you make things move that you did not expect to move it's pretty easy to wonder if you accidentally pushed too hard and broke it.
Copying a comment
Make ur own
Dov Why though...? What if they’re NOT copying? Like, Chris can’t have anymore fans? 😒
Dov Lmao, what?
The question always is..... did I break it? 🤣🤣
Especially when it's $500
Sometimes i wish there was an international puzzle's code where on the box would say "yeah, this is a B" standing for brutality, so you know you can go at it with a hammer and chisel, because when you solve these one after another (even months apart) you risk actually damaging one because the last was sturdier. Just my 2 cents.
And the funny thing is onece he sed thed he never broake a puzzle sooooo....
For real, I was asking myself "did he break it?" the whole video lol
Leonarda Bagaric 4 year old got ahold of the phone.
When you're colour blind so you have no idea what's going on. XD
Then you see different tones of gray. So it might still work. There are different types of colorblindness. Being completely unable to see any color is actually quite rare among non-blind people. The most common colorblindness is the one where red and green look the same to you. There are also types where two or more colors are swapped. But the main two types are "colors turning into different tones of gray" and "colors looking identical".
Yes, you've been told about colorblindness by a toaster.
@@justaregulartoaster I suppose it still works but I was just confused as to what he was talking about with the order of the purple, orange, yellow and green.
F
Erich Roethlisberger dude,,, thnx for being an educator and all that, but don't like? get full of yourself?
I can see how y'all think that but I didn't read it as, "ha in your face you got told off by a toaster" it was more of a, "Yes I know I'm a toaster but still" type of tone.
*When the puzzle is about as stubborn as the purple crayon.*
Best part, is that in his intro he says it works like a pin tumbler lock, and then when he solves it he can't figure out how it works (?!)
It works like a pin tumbler lock!!
He needs lockpicking to be at least level 5 hes at -5
I was thinking same thing, he should watch some Lockpicking lawyer.
Maybe he filmed intro after he solved the puzzle.
What’s that? Sorry for asking.
Every video is the same, guess till it opens then be confused and fail to repeat. Nice guy, Great puzzles but so fustrating to watch him miss the obvious in every video.

Autumn the funny thing was that they were types of trees
@@ains3848 YO
@@ains3848 #666GANG
TurtleBarf 666 no shit dumbass
So the way this works is each of those crayons works like a key pin in a pin tumbler lock. they all have a different height and you have to align the heights so that the driver pins underneath create a slot so you can move the latch to the side and then press the box through. Theoretically this also means that the puzzle could be "picked" by holding tension on the latch and trying different crayons until the latch opens
I noticed the different heights too and I was like "Why Chris is not mentioning they have different heights?"
Yeah! That's I thought! I feel the smart.
Yea i too kept waiting for him to look closer at the crayons for differences. He never did.
Depending on the design of the slide, he could have messed with the tension on the first until it slipped, then done the same with all four.
I suppose it's also possible that all four tumblers need to be aligned at the same time for the slide to move.
Time to call lock picking lawyer
"It's an expensive puzzle"
Proceeds to beat the shit out of it.

@6:12 I would have tested to see if putting the crayons in pointy end first would do anything different
I thought about that to but then I saw the inside bottom part where the crayons sit and realized it wouldn't change anything.

The are differnt lengths. I would put them longst to shortest first.. Just started watchng so we shall see.
carrollyn quinn that was how it was at the beggining
So he didnt need to move it? Coz from the beggining it was arrange like that
@@lr2298 But the crayons are also different lengths. That's how the combination works.
I’m screaming this at my screen right now
Barronas The Fish no it actually isnt how they were at the beginning. If you actually used your brain before automatically thinking that they are wrong. In the beginning they are actually going from shortest to longest. Thats why the last one could move the least and the first one could move the most.

Can you do a video on your puzzle collection
Hey Chris - This was a good one. I enjoyed this Japanese puzzle far more than some of the other, super-simplistic (and expensive) puzzles from Japan. It's interesting to note, that as I have become more of a fan of your puzzle-solving videos, I've noticed an increase in my logical-thinking ability. Even though I haven't tried to do any puzzles yet, I find that I can use this somewhat heightened sense of "thinking-out-of-the-box" approach to everyday conundrums to my definite advantage. In addition, the setting and calming music in your videos also inspires me to approach potentially irritating issues in a more peaceful and systematic manner. Anyway, thanks for all that...

You don't know how key locks work. You don't want to push it the crayons down. The fact that they spring up makes it work
JoshuaHam maybe he was having trouble holding on to the fact that the crayons would be the actual "key" themselves, as he was trying to put them at a position as if they were the things that slide under the key(sorry idk what theyre called) but yes you are correct, i think that idea of tumble locks are really cool, i once watched a video explaining them in detail with a clear one

When he says “how are you?” To the box:😳😳😳 7:40
"How does it work?"
It explains it at the beginning! Its a tumbler lock puzzle, and the crayons are the key... As in the different lengths of the crayons act as the teeth of a key. Sliding it open allowed you to move them around as needed. then when they were in order, you close it to activate the tumblers. The sliding piece was the locking mechanism preventing it from sliding all the way through.
