If you truly care about the conservation of games and gaming as a whole DO NOT PAYWALL YOUR EMULATORS, keep it open soruce and be transparent with your project. Buy up physical and reverse engineer it if need be. You never hear or privately owned libraries (the book kind) for a reason. When it comes to archives you need to work smart and hard, if you cut corners you tend to get sloppy and miss or ruin things.

There is a team called "pretendo" that tries to revive the 3ds and wii u by bringing back miiVerse and online functionality to games. It isnt completly done but online and miiverse works.

Don't forget Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon, an amazing game that had a really fun scarescraper. I was able to 100% the game at the very end and I feel satisfied that I was able to do so successfully, not only that but also LM3 at the same time, and it was on Halloween of Last year, and I was able to play it one last time with my friends.

I think the message that needs to be made here is that you WILL be able to play a lot of these games still thanks to Pretendo Network, just not with the casual community (if there even still is a "casual community"). We need as many people as possible to start helping out with making this custom server possible by playing online games and submitting their dumps to the Discord. That makes it possible to actually revive these servers, which will be awesome.

I think this shouldn't be happening, especially so soon. It's not even like these consoles are trashy or underwhelming. These are all great consoles and have games that are pretty much just being thrown away and it's just a horrible thing to see happen after we've enjoyed years of fun with these games/systems. I grew up during this entire era and remember the days when the games for these systems were being advertised for the first time, the promo displays at Game Stores, and the excitement I felt playing them all first the first time. If there's one lesson everyone could take from this, it's that all gaming moments are precious, just as life itself is, and when they go away, they'll fade away for good, so enjoy them while they last.
