Multidimensional Scaling

In this video we introduce Multidimensional scaling (MDS), an alternative tool for presenting data and reducing dimensionality. We show how to map data with distances, create insightful visualizations of our data and compare this algorithm with PCA.

Hello, I have a large dataset that I want to apply non-metric MDS. I aim to use gower distance to measure distanceses. Is it possible to use gower on Orange or to do custom distance measurement in Orange and how can I do it. One more question is there a way to perform nonmetric MDS with Orange.

Unfortunately, there's no Gower's distance in Orange. You can use Python Script to invoke any package, including gower. Currently, we only support metric MDS, but I think there's no reason why we couldn't support NMDS as well.

Hi! I am currently using version Orange3-3.36.2, and I cannot find the "Feature Constructor". How can I access it?

I am also on 3.36.2 and noticed it was going as well. I used the "Formula" widget. It appears to be the same widget, just renamed.
