The average Swede can speak and understand multiple languages though. Something my Scottish mother in law find fascinating. I can have a conversation in all the Scandinavian languages as well as Finnish, English and German, and that is not uncommon at all.

But not quite warm enough! Loved the carriages, the superb horses trotting with the music, and the band which was excellent .... as is usual from Sweden. And as usual, the common language is English.

Okay Queen ElizabethII never began a State Visit in the stable yard or had the royals fixing the carpet down. I also noticed that large crowds did not form. I also don't ever remember the Queen avoiding stepping in horse manure at an official occasion. But it's nice to see other Royal families at work.
This was a weekday at around 10. No huge crowds at that time. State visits follow different cultural traditions. The Scandinavian RF for example have very different traditions and etiquette surrounding weddings and jubilees etc. There’s no comparison.
The Pageantry in Swidish royals is pretty much less in comparison to the British, in attitude, the way a carriage man should walk towards the carriage door.

(They'd be stuffed without the English language though - the only way they can communicate between each other)
