Żyj tu, pracuj, płać podatki i żadnych restrykcji. Po roku powiedz mi, czy Ci się nadal podoba.

      @@GoTimeTravels Zakopane is placed in Podhale region which is a place where Polish highlanders live. There are many traditional dishes specific only for this region of Poland You can try there like nowhere else in Poland.
      - Placek po zbójnicku - name could be translate as Robber Pancake - large potato pancake with meat gulasz derived from Hungarian culture. Very tasty. Name itself refers to "zbój", "harnaś" which are the Polish Highlanders words to describe band leader Robber. Most famed folk hero of this region name was Janosik. He was like Robin Hood but living up in the mountains - He and his band stole from nobles and robbed them to give back the goods to the poor podhalan highlanders. So wherever You'll see like wooden sculpture of a guy with tall hat and axe-like tool which is called "ciupaga" its probably Harnaś depiction or Janosik himself. The dish itself was probably brought to this region of Poland from Hungary by Karpatian Mountain Robbers. 🪓
      - Kwaśnica - which could be translate as Acid Soup or Sour Soup - very sour and salty sauerkraut soup from sour cabbage. Very warming. But You eat it at your own risk 🤪
      - Baranina - Lamb - Yeah they have many kinds of lamb to taste 🐏🐑🐏🐑
      - Pstrąg po góralsku - it can be translated as Highlanders Trout sometimes named Pstrąg Górski - Mountain Trout - really tasty - from local mountain rivers. Regional highlanders were also very good river rifters and skilful river fishermen. 🐟🐟🐟
      - Bryndza - other kind of traditional regional Cheese - You'll absolutely love it. It is a cheese made of salted and ground, ripe bundz. It has a salty taste, sometimes slightly sour or spicy. Bryndza was the first to be recognized as a regional product and received an EU certificate like oscypki. 🧀🧀🧀
      - Kotlet schabowy - it's not so regional though they do it in very best way - its kind of pork schnitzel served with potatoes. 🐷
      If You're in Zakopane - You should really try these all. The weather there is very tricky so I wish You luck. Cant wait to see Your vlog on this trip.

    Well, I have been in Dresden, Prague, Warsaw, Krakow, Poznan and Gdansk Christmas Markets and they are all no match to Wroclaw Christmas Market. I guess the amount of unique products and atmosphere in Wroclaw makes it that good, its hard to beat. Easily one of the best in Europe, but Kraków is very good too and its worth a visit!
    Fun fact: Kraków has oldest indor market in the world at Main Square, and Wroclaw has the oldest restaurant in Europe (Piwnica Swidnicka) also in Main Square.
    Fun fact 2: Kraków Main Square was inspired by Wroclaw main Square (50 years difference). They made one side of the square little longer in Kraków and didn't build it up as much, so it appears much bigger.
    Merry Christmas everyone ;)

    In Żabka the don't have the real oscypek, they have just the imitation called "ser górski" wich is not the real one. If you can see that the cheese is smooth and shiny (like almost waxed) on the outside, it is not oscypek. Oscypek is matte and slightly rough on the outside. Real oscypek is rarely sold in markets.

Long time ago I had Danish friend visiting me in small town in PL, and one of my friend Ola, after getting small gift from him, with the smile on her face she said" f...k you" instead of thank you... that was awkward ... and funny at the same time 🤯😅😆 translation failed

      @HCforLife1 Před 2 lety +7

      In polish you can say "what do you want" as a 1:1 translation and you can say it as very politely. Most polish people don't realise that this might be rude to native English speakers. I did the same mistake during my first years in England. So: if somebody will ask something like that - this is +90% polite.
