Bunch of different factors such as using Flux I or Flux II. Many players use Yokai Abilities to recover ki as well.

I don't know if I'm missing something here, but the clip by WittyCleverName at 01:33 doesn't seem to be of the same skillful standard that the other clips show. Maybe he's doing tech in his Yokai Shift clip that is impressive, but I'm not seeing it. Otherwise, excellent showcase, as always.
I thought the claws parry on the second hit of the enki attack after the i-frame dodge was pretty nasty. (01:35)

I was actually working on using the Axe against Suiki. Due to time constraints, I ended up using my usual Sword/Splitstaff.
