New subscriber here from east central Nebraska.Just came across your channel and it is the first one I have found about raising hogs. I am 51 years old and this month will be the end of raising hogs on this farm for the past 70 years. My boys are 18 and 20, and are the 4th and last generation to raise hogs here. Barns need rebuilt or replaced, the local market in Fremont Nebraska has forgotten about the local producers, and the poor price for pork has left us with no choice but to quit the pork production. We use to sell about 70 head a week. We also have cattle and crops and will be adding a couple of new cattle pens. to feed out about 500 more head a year. Hope to see plenty more videos from you.
We are in NW Iowa.
Love the channel, Dad keeps it real.....

Crazy to see this pig farm compared to my families's pig farm in austria🧐
If you know of anyone that needs some brooders and/or plastic mats I got some for sale. I even have the hangars for the mats to store them in the barn
Try using rattle paddles or sorting paddles for the little pigs. Then your dad won’t have to hit is shocker(hot shot) on the wall. We’ve even used the plastic big bats drilled a hole in the handle end and put metal BB gun BBs in them as a rattle as well.

Hey a grower that actually does the work lol. Our service guy has to do most of the work for growers including checking feed bins because they dont want to do it
you should always check for power first. At least you have a spare motor now.
so what was the motor problem? is that a relay box over the pens, or the breaker tripped back at the dist. panel? I missed the outcome. Thanks for a great video! looks like a good channel you have coming up :)
We make feed at our CO op and we make it for kalmbach pig finishing owned by kalmbach feeds in upper sandusky ohio so I know how that feed is done and how they do the phases of feed you guys have a nice set up!
Here in the philippines pork is already small and the price is very high😌
Constant bites from pigs, young man you must have the patience of Job.
👍👌🇨🇦❤, new sub, gr8 stuff
How “much” of your farm is grain production?
Is it just a supplement to your pig production?
We farm 400 acres of row crops. 2/3 corn 1/3 soybeans. All the corn gets sold back to the feed mills that feed hogs. Not necessarily ours. Whoever has the best bid. It’s a very competitive grain market in our area due to the multiple hog operations.
I live in Tipton
One time a feed line wouldn't run so I replaced the proximity switched and it worked, for a little while. So then I replaced the motor and that fixed the problem, for a little while. So then I replaced the white box on the side of the where the feed dumps in and that finally fixed it. But I've noticed that when we have a electrical problem now it's usually the relay inside that white box
I work in a pig barn with over 5000 head of hogs
Spent my youth in sw mo vaccinating hogs, and hog load outs
I absolutely hate it when I do something live replace a mirror and it's not the problem.
That's insane
How many pigs do your have? We have 10,000. We do ALL or own maintenance and loading and caretaking too. We used to be wean to finish but it was just too much work. We would overstock and have over 20,000 pigs then.
We have 4 2400hd barns we run them as 3 sites so that spreads out our work load. We do overstocks also. Thanks!
Are they always so crowded in the pens? Do they ever go outside?
how old are these particular pigs when you moved them?
Awesome video! Keep up the great work. I hope you'll like my uploads too 🤩👍
Y’all need a FT Drivah c’mon
👍👍🤠
How heavy are those pig and our day for slaughter
I like your videos, but the way you swing your hands around all the time is kind of detracting from the product. Hope this helps.
i like how you and your dad are putting in different types if farming.... we need to see what it takes and all the hard work.... thats what makes your channel great....
