- 3rd race of 3. Full stint to driver change, though with yellow flag slow zone edited out. Slow to get back on the gas at the post-slow zone green flag and jumped by 904, 911 and Mustang which made for some fun racing. Best lap 5m9s.
A bolt holding the oil pump failed on Nick's last lap, so we finished P7 (instead of P3, we think) on the Index of Performance for Plateau 4.
Brilliant driving Alex, the Elan sounds great and was going really well 😁
Great video - well sorted car, well driven. Can’t help noticing how much that bonnet is bowing upwards at high speed. Needs looking at - if those bonnet catches let go things will get exciting. And the bonnet bowing like that probably costs you 0.5mph at top speed. It’ll add up over a long lap.
Really nice drive .
interesting video which is also good
extraordinaire, SuPeR!!!!!
Hello. Good driving and long live the Lotus Elan. A small note: The engine is at most more than 1'30" on a lap. It is necessary to lengthen the pinion a little for Le Mans. It would be good for the chrono and the engine. Good luck with the rest
Thank you - and yes, I agree. If we are back at Le Mans in that car we will certainly try a longer diff.
Bit busy there at times. Nice driving in an obviously well sorted car.
Nothing like a 7th gear!! Good ding dong with the Porsche. Not many car go by you but when they do 🎺🎺. its no knockers though 😂
7th? A 5th would have helped!!
Suggestions...;-) longer gearing, windows closed, leave the wiper in the pits.
is there no longer gearing available for you cars? you're losing so much time on the straights
Yes, but there's a trade-off between a bit more top speed from longer gearing versus better acceleration everywhere else. Ideally we would have tested both to work out the best compromise. My gut guess is that a longer diff would have been better at Le Mans (but probably not at any other circuit) given the amount of high speed running
Dommage de tourner avec un bijou pareil, sur les grandes lignes droites en surrégime presque permanent !!
Fix those brakes man!
