@@andreas11735 I think you can make the case that "blockchain" in general hasnt worked out just yet but to imply bitcoin is a failure just defies common sense. It was $500 when this video was made and it's now over $10k in just five years with no headquarters, no CEO, no marketing budget. It's more decentralized then ever, its scaling, it has huge development behind it. Bitcoin exemplifies success in every way.

@@mrreginator The number of transactions using crypto currency is minute compared to all transactions. Also, the unified database copies that make it possible are also minute.
The internet would not be able to handle the traffic, even in a relatively small country, if every transaction was via crypto currency.

Blockchain is changing the world of money and gives a new meaning to cashless transactions. All cryptocurrencies take part in this process, of course, some - like Bitcoin - to a greater extent, others - like PrimeStone Coin - to a lesser extent. I do not know which cryptocurrency will become a leading tender, but definitely, money will be replaced with digital coins soon.

Bitcoin are good but I want to see it become fast enough, both 'payment and clearing' first, otherwise it 'can't become a 'mainstream currency'. Other worries are it's mining costs, will they be passed onto us directly or indirectly and the real implication of halving the block and or increasing the size? Lastly,Is there some plan to have an accesible record those companies who accept bitcoin in the different countries?

This is a step in the right direction to free humankind from the slavery of the debt system instituted by the federal reserve bank.
However, so long as we require labor for income, and income as a means to purchase basic necessities, there will still be massive inequalities.
This will not change the fact the billions live in less then a few dollars a day.
We must transition to a Resource Based Economy.
Money is inherently elitist. Ones ability to obtain food, shelter, health care, transportation, and access to information should not be contingent on ability to pay. These are human rights.
None of those are human rights. Human rights are not commodity goods. Rights are freedoms of our behavior and have to do with the ability to pursue happiness openly and without obstruction. The idea of saying "health care is a human right" is an absurdity because health care is just a specific kind of human labor and nobody has the right to the labor of another individual. That would be called slavery, the absolute negation of human rights. The idea of a Resource Based Economy is anathema to all economic studies and will never work, given human nature, unless you have a limitless pool of energy, which will only come once we develop free energy sometime in the (possibly distant) future.

+Jod Life If your countries central bank issuance is stable and well managed from your point of view then you are in a pretty good position compared with many others on the planet. Credit card fees may not bother you too. Bitcoin will look merely like an investment (lucky you!).
Although volatile ( it is decreasing), .....for others on the planet living under conditions where their countries currency is not as reliable, Bitcoin may provide a route that avoids having a flailing government manage their entire finance situation.
You seemingly currently look to governments for solutions whilst others may have been sorely burnt by government sanctioned central bank means and now potentially look to a non-govt network.

And as consumer, you can also choose to pay with GreenpeaceCoin since you like those guys and want to support them. So since bitcoin is 'politically agnostic' there is a good chance that it will remain on top of the thousands of others. The only thing that can defeat Bitcoin is something that is technically better, politics is taken out the loop.
