      Easy: it was released in JULY! And if that wasn't stupid enough, it was in the same week as Spielberg's Jurassic Park.

      It flopped during release. So it will always be considered a flop. Its a cult classic now which means it developed a fanbase well after release.

      I think she meant the fact that it was probably surprising that such a huge star would go for a roll in "such a silly Disney movie" of course at the time it was filmed, no one knew the success this movie would have.

    I'm so damn glad that Ms. Midler is the kind of woman who did NOT think that a movie like Hocus Pocus was beneath her! She is an amazing icon and I adored all 3 of the sisters! A great movie that is not a tradition in my home at halloween time

    It's sad how Jason Marsden voiced Binx both cat and human form yet he gets no credit. Sean Murray was the face, but Jason was the voice

      @@kimscott9580 Even though Sean Murray, the actor who played human Binx, was originally meant to voice Binx, the producers decided to dub his voice because he sounded too contemporary, and Binx needed to sound more like someone from the 1600s. That's why Jason Marsden dubbed Sean's scenes and voiced him in cat form.

      Jason's omission was not cool. They also left out Vinessa Shaw's role in Eyes Wide Shut and didn't mention anything about Larry Bagby (Ernie). I know they can't cover everything but they should at least hit the major points.

      +Jennifer Loving It wasn't a horror series as much as it was a fantasy/sci-fi/mystery series. It even had humor. Many stories were based around urban legends. Tobey Maguire was a guest star playing a ghost. I LOVED the show and have the entire series on dvd. Still watch my favorite eps a few times a year.

    You forgot to mentioned the two biggest roles in the Beth Middler's carrier : in "The rose" (1979) and "For the boys" (1991). Underrated movies. She deserves an Oscar for both dramatic interpretations. Brilliant performing, including impecable singing.

    Bette had a LOT of input with how she wanted Winifred to look, and has also voiced Georgette in Oliver and Company (Another Disney movie), so to think such a company is beneath her is stupid to assume. She played such an iconic role!

      @@morticiaadams272 Maybe he likes playing characters with prosthetics. It's similar to how a lot of Andy Serkis' work has been with motion capture rather than his actual self. He does it and does it well.

      I think that might be because a lot of people don't know about Eerie, Indiana? On the other hand, I've never seen Gravity Falls, but my kids have and are big fans and I told them that the shows creator was influenced by E,I and now they're interested in watching it 😊

    The Pregnancy Pact really is based on real stuff. My older brothers-from-another-mother grew up in the town where it all happened. Even though they went to a different high school their mom remembers reading about what happened in the newspaper. It was truly awful.

      Yes but the guy from the channel Cynical Reviews made a video about this movie, the thing is the movie twisted those real events in order to make a moral message story even if they said this movie was only based on it and it´s a different story it feels like they want to have it both-ways and they don´t even show how awful it was for those girls, actually the movie romanticizes teen pregnancy more than problematizes it no one complains about the physical consequences of pregnancy (except for one scene when a girl gives birth and had many stitches because she tore badly), the thing is in real life there was no "pregnancy pact", 18 girls in a school in Massachusetts got pregnant in the same year but there was no agreement between them, it was just a crazy coincidence and in the following year it because a mediatic circus

      Oh yeah he did too! He's become such an iconic under the creature's makeup actor, because of those hand gestures that he's always done so it's pretty easy to tell that it's him. At least I'm always going "Oh it's Doug Jones!

    Doug Jones is also one of the Gentlemen in Buffy's famous Hush episode AND Guillermo Del Toro always has a part for Doug. Doug played a ghost in Crimson Peak. Gotta love him.

    You missed Jason Marsden. He was Binx the Cat. Sean Murray was not. Also Omri Katz? Who the hell that loved Hocus Pocus watched Dallas as a kid? We did however watch Eerie, Indiana a show starring him. He was the only actor I knew before the movie.

      Me. My mom loved Dallas so I watched that a lot as a kid. Knew him from Eerie, Indiana and that before I first saw Hocus Pocus.

      I think she meant the fact that such a big celebrity would star in a "silly Disney movie" I don't think she was trying to call the movie itself silly. Bette was the biggest star in the movie at the time and when it was filmed, no one knew it was going to be extremely successful

    Fun fact, I was actually born in 1993 on the day that this movie, Hocus Pocus, was released as well as Free Willy. So while those two movies were playing up on the big screen on July 16th, 1993 I had just entered this world. :) Very surreal to believe. Lol, yet I never really saw those two films much in my life ironically.
