I am a short waisted, petite apple with no hips and thin legs. The style that is most flattering for me, whether one piece or two piece, is a swimsuit with a skirt or large ruffle as it broadens my hips , putting me back into the hourglass.

As an everyday woman, I very rarely lounge poolside or at the beach. I need practical sporty swimwear that won't fall down or ride up while chasing children, playing at a waterpark, tubing, canoeing, and participating in water sports and other water activities. I am hoping you can do a video featuring active water playwear. Thank you.
Part 2 is this Sunday and active wear doesn’t need to be frumpy! In this Sundays video will particularly focus on how supported and comfortable she feels in the different pieces.
I have had the same swimsuit for years because it is absolutely the most flattering I’ve ever had. It’s a tank two piece, and the top has layers of beautiful ruffles that conceal any imperfections. It looks chic, and I don’t need to suck in constantly 😆

If you find a good one, buy 2, so you have another when the first 'dies' ..I swim in indoor pool and the high chlorine eats bathers!! I buy new one every year as they just start to fall apart (and I've bought cheap and very expensive brands, but they last maybe 1 or 2 months longer and aren't worth 3x the price!!!)

Very nice and helpful video for lots of women I’m sure. Both the ladies looked gorgeous! The swimsuits were fabulous but what I noticed is that their confidence is what really makes it. I’m inspired to try something new, maybe one day I will be comfortable showing my tummy!

I would love to see more slim apples styled! After pregnancies I seem to collect my Weight mostly to my belly, but otherwise im still pretty slim. I find my new shape very hard to dress nicely.

I have a kiddo with special needs and at 53 I can’t be chasing her down the beach with things flopping around and bouncing out. 😂 So I go with comfort, support and camouflage. 😆 This was a great video and the ladies looked fantastic. Great display of why skin is ok or best for the tummy.
I loved this video. I especially loved seeing Denise's outfits. She is the first client in your videos to have a figure close to my own. I am 5'3 3/4", weigh 140, and wear a 34F bra. I typically wear a U.S. size 6 or an 8 in some dresses to accommodate my big bust. Whenever my weight is on the high side, as it is now (boo hoo), I gain primarily in my stomach area. I lose the hourglass / rectangle shape and get more of an apple shape. My stomach starts to round out right beneath my bust. I am a fairly slender apple just like Denise. I have read that after menopause many of us who were more hourglass or rectangle shaped develop an apple tummy. I would love, love, love to see Denise in daywear!! I have had a hard time relating to the other, heavier apple shaped clients you have featured.
It’s great to hear that you were able to relate to my shape struggles. Menopause definitely changes your body shape! I miss my waist!! 😢. There is a great video posted in May 22 (when Melissa Styled me in day wear. It literally changed the way I shop and dress and more importantly how I feel about myself in clothes. Plus it makes it so much easier having a capsule wardrobe. Especially when packing to go away for a weekend or holiday. I was also lucky enough to appear in Melissa’s how to dress for your body shape videos…. Worth every penny in my opinion. X

Agreed! Jess looked so good! I’m actually considering getting a 2pc to wear myself! Even though her tummy is a lot cuter than mine with my stretch marks, I realized the bikini’s really were quite flattering.

The pear shape had gorgeous swimsuits but the apple shape swimsuits were not as beautiful. Swimsuit options for average size apple shape women is dismal.

I wonder if a skirt Swimsuit bottom would work for an apple shape. Balance out the shoulders, maybe create a bit of a waist curve?

I think it's because they kept styling her in 2 piece bathing suits. More one piece suits may have looked better. Perhaps wrapped style.
I agree. They were awful. There must be better options out there. Those seem all the same and did nothing for her.
Awesome job on the pear shaped lady... As a short waisted / medium sized apple who is not going to wear a bikini...I struggle with finding options that aren't just black... would love seeing more one piece options in your next video

That was interesting as an apple would never have thought about wearing a two piece and having lower pants rather than covering stomach! Although she was a very slim apple as you say with no real tummy. Can you also advise on short waisted? Thanks.
The same applies to a short waist - wear the pants low at the front and the legs high. You’ll see this in part 2’s video next week. X

I am shaped like Denise, but my three gargantuan sons made my belly look like a topographical map of the Andes. A 2 piece is out of the question for me. But she also looked great in the initial black suit. I didn't care too much for the bulky high waisted shorts, though.
I liked the vintage top on her better -made her shoulders broad -lovely costumes and really helped - I’ve decided I need to invest in better coverups to give me confidence

I'm a thin apple. My best suits are 50s style or dark with light stripes up the sides.
Oh yes, i liked the last green bikini with the higher bottoms, it looked more balanced... very nice, the white over-shirt was perfect

I am a 43 year old woman. 180 cm, bust size double hh. Swimwear has been a problem all my life. I am also apple shaped. What to I do nowadays? I wear a strapless, good quality push up bikini top and then wear a one piece over it. Even the one shoulder ones are very nice and flattering.

Blimey Melissa your skin is incredible, it doesn't look any different without makeup than with it! A few lines here and there but that's what you should have at almost 50 😍. I trust you honestly I do 😁 but I'm a real sceptic about devices being able to take away real jowl sagging, only surgery can do that. Do they offer a money back guarantee if it makes no difference? Amazing stunning women you look great x
I honestly don't know if they offer a money back guarantee or not, I'd check out their website for that. I'm with you in terms of being a sceptic but i'm sent things on a daily basis and I show 1% of what i'm sent and only items that have worked/suited a lot of our clients. I think the key to making these things work is consistency. You 100% get an instant smoothing effect but this wears off by the end of the day. I've been using it for 4-5 months now and I can most definitely see the permanent effects now. I hope that helps x

I’m a mom, skin shows that it’s experienced that change. I’m more of a rectangle larger bust. Relate most to the apple body you shared but need something more youthful. (5ft)
Melissa I really like your channel out of all the other very slim it seems to me influencers telling us what to wear I think you are more mindful of peoples shapes and really down to earth, BUT , and I say these after being a size 8-10 all my life up until about 9 yrs ago when I got leukaemia and needed drugs including steroid to keep me alive. So now I am a size 20/22 top 16/18 and I can tell you, I could wear anything when I was slim cheap, expensive and it looked good,but now I’m big it’s a different story, so I’ve tasted both sides of the body situation, all I can do is hide a hideous tummy and not so nice tops of arms more so , that other people do not have to see them. I really do not think I would wear a bikini, swimsuit a tucked in top, I tried the trick that you show and it looked awful and my husband said your top is caught up you need to pull it down😂. My favourite thing to wear was jumpsuits I absolutely loved them and I always wore a lovely teddy with poppers on the crutch, so didn’t have to sit on loo showing off everything . I love watching your channel, but I know not in a million years would I wear a jumpsuit again or half tuck in my top . I will keep watching as I love you and your teams enthusiasm xx
That’s a shame you feel like that. Have you watched the body shape masterclasses that I’ve done with the plus size ladies? I’ve done several of them. Maybe that will give you some inspiration as they all had similar feelings until I showed them what they could look like. X

I was much smaller in my youth and i'd just buy the waterproof gel inserts and then I could wear any type of bikini!

My dream bikini bottoms would be mid to high rise shorts, like surfer shorts with a bit more loose fabric just like men have. It's really difficult to find ones that aren't skin tight or have to be worn over your already existing bikini bottoms. I'm over feeling like I'm not entirely sure if I'm covered or not at any given moment.
I am in no way affiliated, but I found these types of swim bottoms from Title Nine. I'm in the U.S, so I'm not sure if they ship internationally. Good luck!

I use both but the RF machine actually gets rid of the fine lines where the zip halo tightens the skin.

I took your advice and bought a linen shirt and shorts combination. But I have to iron the shirt before I put it it on and by the end of the day it's all creased! Isn't that too much hassle to take on holiday? You would need to have an iron and iron it every day you want to wear it.
I leave it creased all week!!!

They’re just dated but they do work to balance out the upper torso.

We actually dress lots of women in your situation and it depends on whether you're happy to use an aqua swim foam insert? If you just google 'swimwear for mastectomy patients' you'll see all of the wonderful options out there. Generally speaking these days there are lots of solutions. x

Fantastic video. I just wondered how Jess found the fit of the white one piece swimsuit? A lot of the reviews say to size up? Looking forward to next weeks. I don’t have a sunny summer holiday booked but a week in Florida next February so I need to get summer things now!
Generally speaking I always size up in swimwear for both myself and my clients but in the white one she took her normal size of a size 16.
@mmpersonalstyling I'm a busty apple with a flat bottom and slim hips, so I usually need smaller bottoms than tops. This is because they go baggy after swimming and washing 🫣
