Totally feel this! Happened to me when my channel "blew up" started chasing the metrics and forget why I started making content in the first place. This was supposed to be a creative outlet that could lead to financial freedom but turned into a prison. Now I'm taking a step back and going back to the thing that made me grow in the first place. Which is being me, expressing my myself and sharing my experiences!

None of you have talent. You are just yapping and ‘creating’…literally nothing. This whole social media schizm is just that…a rip in the fabric of humanity that the 99.9 percent of people who have zero talent feel like they can get a piece. It’s all just a bunch of talentless people TALKING. It will all implode upon itself. Talent always win. This con game of the ‘cult of personality’ is as empty as the vessels that run these channels. Listening to this guy whisper about diluting ANYTHING is like a person with no legs talking about how to run. Effing ridiculous.

I find the problem with people doing content creation is lack of strategy. They come up with ideas and upload them and post them straight away. They may be motivated for a couple months and may upload 40 videos in that time. 40 videos could be 40 or 20 weeks instead of 2/3 months. Batch and post consistently (I also recommend using a bit of Famester as it helps a lot). Don't post everything straight away, post it on the same day/time every week. This also helps avoid burn out...

I’ve always said it’s easy to build your own prison as an entrepreneur or professional creative. A decade ago I started a design agency and eventually was managing a team of twelve but was no longer designing and I started having panic attacks. After three ER visits in two years I sold the business and started making videos as a new creative outlet. Now I’m a full-time video editor and have to remind myself to keep a balance and not build another prison cell out of my creative work. It’s all about balance, setting boundaries, and not falling for the trap of bigger and more at all costs. Like you say, we can find our creative spark again by returning to our creative source, our “why”. ❤

In psychology there are studies about “intrinsic and extrinsic motivation”. Basically, what was found was that when the motivation was purely intrinsic (I.e. the reward was the activity itself), the output was best. Yet, when an extrinsic motivation was involved (I.e. money), the output started to dwindle and people reported being less happy with the activity. Teachers suffer from this too. Students are used to getting a quick fix, so when we "take too long" to create an outcome they get "bored". I feel like an actor who performs commercials all day, because I can only keep their attention for a few minutes at a time. They can't even sit through a movie anymore, so I stopped showing them. If they have to wait for anything, they get visibly upset. I now show 20-minute videos, if they can pay that much attention and time on something. Even those short videos, I need to stop to keep their attention. It is draining me physically and emotionally, to the point that I am losing my passion too. I never thought I would say such a thing. It is a miracle my students learn anything at all, in this kind of environment.

First off...you're so beautiful! 💕 But honestly, something I've noticed over the years is that whether someone is a celebrity, guru, author, content creator, etc...quality always matters over quantity. Fans, followers, supporters, etc will literally wait patiently and check back incessantly as these individuals take time to themselves and then come back with "quality" content. People are STILL asking Rihanna to make music and have a tour. When was the last time she did anything consistent with music? People simply love her energy and want it however they can get it and will WAIT for it lol...artists like Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole do not push their music like other mainstream artists and we are always pleasantly satisfied when they finally release their thoughtfully crafted content.
A CZcamsr by the name of Erica Fae has gone through ups and downs ever since she was diagnosed with Lyme disease and now has been fighting cancer. To this day many of us still follow her on social and CZcams although we know we won't see/hear from her for months to years and are right there STILL supporting her after every long ass hiatus because we're connected to her journey. Your people will NEVER forget you!
However...businesses, artists, and creators that focus on quantity over quality do not create authentic connection to their "fanbase" or customers and people use their content or products as a means to escape vs a means to connect. So they're easily forgotten and tossed aside because they never "connected"...

You just have to know how to live it." and 3) "Don't be lazy. Work hard." They are simple yet profound. He raised 10 kids, worked in a factory, immigrated his children legally from a small village in Mexico into the US during the 1960s. He owned a car, 3 properties, and had the love and adoration of his children and grandchildren. I still sing about him to this day. As the Holy Bible says "Your reputation is more precious than jewels and rubies." And "Wisdom is nourishing to the soul like a good meal."

So glad you put this conversation in the atmosphere. There are probably more creators being burned out than people getting burned out with the 9 to 5 and the trend is still growing. • @paulmilakeve
      @paulmilakeve Před 6 měsíci +2

@@authorreneedang Great question. I always recommend that creators should have some product or service that they sell. Some things are natural as a result of the type of content you are creating. For example, I see you are an author so there is book sales, you may also be able to sell your services to help others write a book. Then there are the things that you learn as a result of having to create content like editing, film making, videography, and graphic design, courses and digital products. Then there are brand deals and affiliate income. Never rely on the revenue from your content alone.

I have goals for my channel in 2024 but I never want to get obsessed about the algorithm and getting sponsorships. It can take away my creative freedom and the joy. I don’t even look at the statistics. I just make what I love and keep improving. A friend asked me if I would leave my day job/school for content creation and I said No. It’s really about finding that perfect balance. And I love being multidimensional. I think ultimately, everyone has to work to live and survive, I think everyone should do something they love or something they can at the very least tolerate and not focus on the numbers or money. If someone is wanting to be a content creator, you can’t focus on views, money, numbers etc, or you will lose the joy from it.

I appreciate your calm demeanor; it's very soothing. As someone who is relatively new to content creation, I'm doing it because of my passion for it. Your words remind me not to get caught up in the algorithms of when and how often to post, but rather to create and post content that I'm passionate about regardless of the level of engagement it generates. It's also a great reminder to not solely focus on creating a viral hit, but to stay true to my passion and enjoy the journey of content creation.

As an artist, I appreciate your content. I can say intentions are key before I go out to perform. Patience and persistence are also key. Visualization from the conscious mind and asking questions to hit the subconscious mind such as "Why am I such a money magnet?" Or whatever you're trying to manifest. Juggling is the ultimate traveler's sport/business. Invest that money into your health and helping others in need. I am so blessed. I am open to give and receive. Rest and motion. There's a duality to life in every area. Just write down all the opposites you can think of. It's virtually endless.

I've been reading so much on attention capture - Attention Merchant is a fab read to start by Tim Wu, also for socials "The Outrage Machine"
Powerful piece, thank you for sharing. Protecting your mind & focus is so key - energy flows where attention goes - remember if it's free, you are the product.

Probably the best video that actually explains things, but does it in a voice that is extremely calming. Seriously thank you so much my arm has literally been bothering me all week long and this video was like educationally relaxing. Allowing me to take my mind off of it for 17 minutes. You've earned a sub!

Agree 100%. Touched on this a little in a video a few months back. People really struggle to stick to their own standards and set their own criteria for creative success when money & recognition are involved.

I’ve always wanted to become a CZcamsr.
It’s just something that’s always been a way for me to express my ideas or the things that I’ve been thru that may help others.
I truly think that I can use it as a creative outlet and find financial freedom. I just have to start somewhere.

being a content creator and putting yourself and your life/light force out there constantly will burn out the creator and can lead to health problems and even premature death

You’re bringing balance to the force.
So many videos right now preaching about branding, promotion, catering to platforms, and all that. Not as many grounding videos like this encouraging you to remember why you started down this path and find a healthy relationship with what you do.
This is a breath of fresh air. Thank you.

This guy is so chill that even listening to him advertising his sponsor was relaxing.
I found more wisdom in this video than many trying to tell me how to make videos for the platform.
